Because the world of heterosexuals is a sick and boringly Christmasy life.
There's now a convention specifically for fans of Hallmark Christmas movies

Well Bravo has Bravo-con now. So everything has to have it's own convention now.

[Quote] All in, they booked over a dozen current and former Hallmark celebs, including Chad Michael Murray, Melissa Joan Hart, Rachel Boston, Paul Greene, Alicia Witt, and Jackée Harry.
What an exciting lineup.

I want to go dressed as a Christmas tree.
Just for an hour...

One of these is not like the other.

There's always a sassy Black/sort-of Asian friend of the female lead.

Was Candace Cameron really too busy for this?

Will Aunt Becky make an appearance via satellite in her orange jumpsuit?

I need to start watching these! Embrace your inner nellie!

I especially like the Royal episodes. Commoner meets Prince/Princess...The one with the firehouse cat was fun too. Count me in as a fan of this genre.

Christ, this reminds me I'm going to my aunt for Christmas and she has a HUUUUGE Thomas Kinkade painting on the wall. She lives in a beautiful townhouse with brick walls and she covers it with that fucking thing!
I have nightmares after I leave.

R14 would certainly make the convention more interesting if she did.

Has there ever been an gay character in a Hallmark movie? Even an unmarried best friend of the female lead whose personal life is never addressed.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | November 18, 2019 11:33 AM |
Oh, [R18]: What, pray tell, is wrong with Thomas Kinkade? You're just being snooty. Though--now that you bring it up--I suppose that's what Hallmark Christmas movies are: Thomas Kinkade paintings come to life. Too obvious to need saying, but I just said it.

I actually had a great time at this. Not a Hallmark fan but there were alot of guests I liked from other things. It was frau city but they were set on mild. It had a great Christmas feel and was run pretty well for a first time con. Lacey Chabert was very sweet as was Alicia Witt even when instead of Hallmark stuff I had them sign Black Christmas and Urban Legend Blurays. From there I moved on to the hot guys. Jesse Metcalf, Chad Michael Murray, and Andrew Walker were all very nice and sexy. But Ryan Paevey had to be the hottest guy I've ever seen up close. Stunning. Jonathan Bennett was also there and he was great. Energy for days. Hosted a lot of it. Crowd loved him. He deserves a bigger career. It was nice to see his boyfriend helping out at his booth. I go to a lot of conventions and except for John Barrowman's husband, you don't see many openly gay actors at these things with there partners.

The Whos? of Whereverville, premiering this Saturday on the Hallmark Channel!

I'm not ashamed to admit that I enjoy the Hallmark Christmas movies - sure they're predictable, mindless and sappy but they're very comforting. I also watch the Valentine's movies as well. No shame here!

Hallmark movies are made for people who want to speak to the manager.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | November 18, 2019 5:32 PM |
I think there was a thread last year started by someone who watched all the Hallmark Christmas movies.
Live and let live.

It's a snowglobe in movie form.
