Married Pastor falls in love with homeless guy (Gay Short)

Damn, why can't they make a television show or a feature length movie like this?

I find stories like this, hotter than porn. I love the intimacy between the characters.

It's not like it's really even about the sex, either. It's just a good story.

It's a horrific movie. The ending is horrible. They make it seem like a romance. It's literally something like a horror movie.

by Anonymousreply 3November 13, 2019 6:10 AM

For those who are going to watch be prepared... Because the ending of this movie is extremely sad and horrible.

by Anonymousreply 4November 13, 2019 6:22 AM

You should watch the gay story line 'Chrolli' from a German soap on youtube. There are about 600 videos of their love story - all with English subtitles and also a youtube channel of their 300 kisses / make out scenes (also with subtitles). I think one of the actors is straight and one is gay in real life. It got quite a bit of international press when it aired (2008-2012)

by Anonymousreply 5November 13, 2019 6:25 AM

I fucking hate the ending. WTF.

by Anonymousreply 6November 13, 2019 6:28 AM

What R3 wrote.

by Anonymousreply 7November 13, 2019 8:47 AM

WTF? Is this a Portlandia skit?

by Anonymousreply 8November 13, 2019 11:20 AM

Well, damn.

Thanks for the link R2.

I just posted the snippets, because they popped up on my youtube channel. I had no idea that the movie ended the way it did. That really sucked.

Having watched the full movie, I'm not even sure that I know what the message of the movie was. It was very weird.

However, I'm now in love with the guy who played the Pastor. I find him very attractive.

Anyone know who he is? Is he gay in real life?

by Anonymousreply 9November 13, 2019 2:55 PM

Spoil it - how does it end?

by Anonymousreply 10November 13, 2019 2:57 PM

Just play the video and click at about the one hour mark, R10.

You can watch the last 20 minutes and pretty much find out what happens.

by Anonymousreply 11November 13, 2019 2:59 PM

thanks for warnings; I'm guessing...the worst.

Pass.

Homeless guys don't look like him anyway.

by Anonymousreply 12November 13, 2019 3:26 PM

R9 David Rysdahl, He's straight. The actor who played the homeless guy is gay tho.

This movie sounds like it's based on the real life PBS documentary "The Overnighters". From the very beginning of the doc, you can feel the pastor is a bit shady and a lot of creepy. Oh, the Scandal!

The Pastor guy deserves a hot bucket of diarrhea thrown at him for interrupting the hot young homeless guy while he's eating his grub.

by Anonymousreply 15November 13, 2019 4:55 PM

That first clip taught me that I've been pronouncing Proust wrong all this time.

by Anonymousreply 16November 13, 2019 4:57 PM

Thank you, R13!

His Instagram doesn't say much. I wish I could find out more about him.

by Anonymousreply 17November 13, 2019 5:58 PM

the homeless homo is hot

by Anonymousreply 18November 13, 2019 6:05 PM

R17 Well, Although he pings a little for me, he's dating this actress Zazie for years... He's cute but likely straight.

by Anonymousreply 19November 13, 2019 6:24 PM

The ending - spoiler

The pastor's wife finds out the homeless guy is fucking her husband. She goes to confront him and tells him to leave town. He won't. She has him beat up and tied up unconscious. The pastor finds him, unconscious but alive, and then burns down the little garage/shack the pastor had housed him in, with the homeless guy in it.

It's just horrible.

by Anonymousreply 20November 13, 2019 6:25 PM

It was a bit suspenseful.

At first, I thought the wife was going to kill the drifter.

Then I thought the heavyset redneck was going to kill him.

Little did I know that the Pastor was going to be the bad guy.

by Anonymousreply 21November 13, 2019 6:28 PM

They should have titled it "Touched by a Hobo", in tribute to the many DL threads.

by Anonymousreply 22November 13, 2019 7:20 PM

Zach Booth (the hobo) is indeed hot and gay. And great in bed.

by Anonymousreply 23November 13, 2019 7:24 PM

Well you must know something, R23.

Spill the gossip!

by Anonymousreply 24November 13, 2019 7:28 PM

I googled him R23, and he's in a ton of photos with Alan Cumming.

Were they together?

Are YOU Alan Cumming?

At first I thought there was a tiny smudge on Zach's face, but I guess he has a birthmark on the right side of his face.

Cute. :o)

I didn't realize that "The Revival" was an actual movie.

What was the distribution like? Was it received well?

by Anonymousreply 27November 13, 2019 7:35 PM

R27 I believe it was on the indie circuit and shown at festivals like Outfest (L.A.) It's on Amazon prime.

It gets a 5.3 at IMDb .. it seems like many either give it a 10 or 1.

(btw - It was based on stage play.)

by Anonymousreply 28November 13, 2019 8:16 PM

Wasn’t Zachary Booth in “Leave the Lights On?” That was a good gay film.

by Anonymousreply 29November 13, 2019 9:53 PM

I watched just the first link, and don't care to watch the rest. The homeless guy was a sociopath, especially when he refused to stop smoking in the wood cabin. After that, I stopped caring what happened to either character.

by Anonymousreply 30November 13, 2019 10:29 PM

The ending seems right for the plot. The director must have an ax to grind with the church, so it is seems appropriate that the preacher turns out to be the evil self-serving one.

by Anonymousreply 31November 13, 2019 11:59 PM

Hobosexuality is forbidden in his church.

by Anonymousreply 32November 14, 2019 12:44 AM

How did the preacher go to Harvard?

by Anonymousreply 33November 14, 2019 3:09 AM

The preacher was kind of bitchy, during that radio station interview.

Rein it in, GURL!
