They decided to omit certain things from the newly animated version of Fred and the result made me scream "What the fuck! " loudly at my poor sleeping dog - who woke up and made it very clear that he will NOT be watching Scooby Doo as a show of protest for my crime against his ears(Well played Liam!) Anyway, the point is Fred is not doing it for me. See for yourself...
Scooby Doo is returning in animated movie "SCOOB" and we HAVE to talk about Fred

Apparently in some recent iteration, Velma and Daphne live together and Fred and Shaggy and Scooby live together. Stills keep popping up on Tumblr showing Daphne in a neglige/pajamas and then in another scene, Velma is wearing the same bedtime clothes. And then a scene of Fred saying, “Call me Fred...unless we’re dating! Then it’s Freddy!” Cut to Shaggy calling out, “Hey, Freddy!”

Really?! R4
That's interesting. I am actually surprised they would do that - especially with Fred.

I was never bothered by Scrappy Doo as a kid. I wasn't a massive fan of the show anyway - preferred The Flintstones - and I didn't particularly like or dislike Scrappy. I was born in the late 80s, so I didn't see him as a latecomer. I remember being surprised when I found out how unpopular he is.

Scoob sounds like the past tense of scab and it’s really turning me off.

Looks like it'll be just as big of a flop as the new Addams Family movie. If the gay stuff is true that's interesting, but it won't be enough to save it.

The missing ascot made me clutch my pearls. The face? An improvement imo.

This year there was a new series released with old school animation but with a new guest star each episode (some of the guest stars this season were Wanda Sykes, Sia, Zach Gaffigan, and Weird Al Yancovic).

Scrappy Doo is the fucking Cousin Oliver of cartoons. I hated that fucking dog.

Who the fuck is Zach Gaffigan?

Dynomutt was born in the 70s?

r12, sorry. I meant Jim Gaffigan at r10
by Anonymous | reply 14 | December 6, 2019 11:22 PM |
Damn, I was hoping you meant Zach Galligan, r10.

Scooby Doo and Guess Who? Trailer (which was mentioned at r12).

You’d have to be very young or very dumb to think that producers would risk destroying the value of this brand by introducing gay content.

Ugh, they're driving the Mystery Machine into the uncanny valley.

That was one of the things I liked about Mystery Incorporated. It left plenty of room for subtext in the friendship between Velma and Marcie. And in one episode Fred toured a gay fraternity that he planned to pledge when he went to college. No I'm not making that up. It all would have gone over the heads of the kiddies, but it wasn't super subtle either.
Plus it had the fabulous Vivica Fox as the fabulous Angel Dynamite.

Hate me if you must, gays, but to my complete shock, the trailer makes that movie look...appealing?

Don't know if it counts as spoiler but they did include an LGBTQ plot in Mission Scooby Doo where ... SPOILER ALERT ... Selma ends up with Marcy "Hot Dog Water" Fleach (voiced by Linda Cardellini).

The move to streaming/on demand might be a smart one. I'll admit that I enjoyed animated movies even though I don't have kids. I find some to be quite creative story wise and with the animations. A few weeks back, I saw Sing coming out on FX and I tuned in. Oddly, it brought some a weird sense of comfort these times. I've thought about renting Trolls World Tour one of these nights.

With Scoob now out of the way, time to do a reboot of Ellen's old Saturday morning cartoon show "Ellen and Her Fun Bunch in Outer Space (with the Harlem Globetrotters)".

Latest: after serious objection from the "Diversity" supporters, Scooby has been changed to calm the fury and to show that Hollywood is inclusive.
