I suppose they are "friends" if you asked, but I watched Martin Short's contradictory body language while he was talking to Miller after the showing of Tootsie on TCM. I found it quite interesting that other than his face, Short's entire body was turned away from Miller. His feet pointed away from him too. All of this usually conveys lack of interest, if not active dislike.

The “chat” with Martin Short was the most cringeworthy TCM scene ever. Dennis Miller has no charisma or interviewing skills, o knowledge of film, no seeming real interest in his interviewee or subject. Absolutely painful and useless segment. Who thought Dennis Miller should be on TCM? Even IGNORE his politics, he is just horrible choice. Why?

I'm torn because tonight he'll be presenting "Being There" and that's one of my favorite movies.

I check the website calendar regularly, and TCM hasn't broadcast anything I haven't see before. For at least 12 months. Miller is probably the only way they can inject any novelty value.

Otherwise, TCM has gotten stale as fuck. And people who have lost it from their cable line-up should support Criterion Channel.

I watched Soylent Green last night and Dana Carvey was on discussing the movie with Miller. They weren't too bad.

I love Dana Carvey. He should've had a much better career.

He's been hosting events at the TCM film festival for a few years now.

A lot of their audience is older and a lot of older people are republican. He's not that controversial to them. (Although Illeana Douglas did says she posed for a photo with him on the red carpet of the last film festival and she get lacerated on twitter because of it. She made a point to say she leans left and he leans right but they try not to discuss politics.)

I saw Dana Carvey on Fox News being interviewed about some project of his. I've been wary of him since. Same goes for Jon Lovitz, who has made his conservative leanings clear on occasion.

I'm pissed that TCM became an upgrade. I watched it all the time but I refuse to pay the extra 10 bucks and I don't watch sports. My Comcast bill already went up $40 in the last year. Bastards. There are other ways to see old movies.
