How did right wind POS Dennis Miller get a gig on TCM?
by Anonymous | reply 53 | November 24, 2019 6:01 AM |
Agreed. I saw this and thought TCM lost their fucking minds. Bring back Illeana Douglas.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | October 30, 2019 6:47 PM |
At least Illeanna Douglas is still in the public eye too. I haven't seen Dennis Miller on TV in years. Last time I saw him on TV, Bush was still in office.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | October 30, 2019 6:56 PM |
His previewed segments didn’t look bad at all and I only really care about the movies anyway.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | October 30, 2019 10:46 PM |
Who's getting their own segment next; Adam Corolla?
by Anonymous | reply 4 | October 30, 2019 11:13 PM |
Did you all pay for the cable upgrade to access TCM? I’m still livid about that.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | October 30, 2019 11:28 PM |
I watch TCM on Hulu. I cut the cable.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | October 31, 2019 12:09 AM |
I follow his wife on Instagram and she’s funny, tasteful and seems pretty liberal. Probably not as one of her friends is Bo Derek though another is Rita Wilson. I wonder if she knows her husband has one of the more repulsive reputations around.

"Hi, I'm Tomi Lahren. Let's watch Gone With the Wind and remember a great time in America when the blacks knew their place."
by Anonymous | reply 8 | October 31, 2019 12:16 AM |
comcast / xfinity pulled one of the great FU to their customers / by putting TCM in a sports package which costs 10 bucks additional. mindboggling
by Anonymous | reply 9 | October 31, 2019 12:21 AM |
I could care less what his politics are. He's a pretty bright guy. People who connect EVERYTHING to politics must lead pretty sad lives.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | October 31, 2019 12:35 AM |
Or... They realize how not understanding the ramifications of politics impacts the quality of their lives and the lives of others.
Let me guess: you're a regular at Chick-fil-A?

No, Victoria Jackson.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | October 31, 2019 12:45 AM |
This has to be some Comcast fuckery.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | October 31, 2019 12:58 AM |
Dennis Miller is paralytically stupid and has a shitty nasal asshole vocal quality. IDGAF what he has to say about anything ever. I bet he starved with his new conservatard persona and is now backpedaling so he can work.
“I’ll do it for scale! It’ll be great! I’ll take vocal lessons! Anything! Just hire me!”
Fucking idiot.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | October 31, 2019 1:10 AM |
Couldn't they just give Dave Karger more air time.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | October 31, 2019 1:43 AM |
[quote]This has to be some Comcast fuckery.
What does Comcast have to do with TCM? TCM is owned by AT&T.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | October 31, 2019 2:01 AM |
He’s talking about Comcast charging an extra10 bucks a month for TCM via a sports package, r16.
How on earth does TCM fit into a sports package?
by Anonymous | reply 17 | October 31, 2019 3:18 AM |
R10 he helped coarsen American politics. Maybe you're too young or ignorant to remember that, but he helped make political discourse in this country what it is today.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | October 31, 2019 12:49 PM |
I remember when he had Norm MacDonald on his show and Norm was doing a bit about gay pride, "Hey this is my gay son. He gets fucked up the ass. I'm so proud" and there's Miller laughing his balls off.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | October 31, 2019 12:52 PM |
r17 Comcast charging extra for TCM doesn't seem to have anything to do with Dennis Miller's appearance there; hence my comment at r16.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | October 31, 2019 3:04 PM |
Dennis was liberal until 9/11 when he panicked, even though he was 3000 miles away in L.A. and crawled up Georges Bush's ass and became a radical Conservative overnight. Haven't paid any mind to him since that day so I have no idea if he is a Trumper, but wouldn't be surprised he is, but I'll avoid his TCM appearances.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | November 3, 2019 1:36 AM |
Never mind I just Googled and of course he voted for Trump. Fuck him.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | November 3, 2019 1:41 AM |

The late actor Ron Silver did that too. He was a Democrat and then he started supporting GWB after 9/11.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | November 3, 2019 1:49 AM |
And now their precious president just let hundreds of ISIS fighters free, and sucks up to the country that killed a journalist and committed the 9/11 attack. Oh, and he’s being impeached for selling out the country.
Do they still like him? Stupid conservatards.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | November 3, 2019 2:07 AM |
R19 Norm always rubbed me the wrong way He has cruel eyes and I would bet hard money that he's a right winger too.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | November 3, 2019 2:11 AM |
^I've long thought MacDonald is some kind of vampire.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | November 3, 2019 12:53 PM |
R25 he comes from a long line of right wingers--his father, brother, uncle. All involved in Canadian right wing politics.
R23 Larry Miller also became a right wing douche after September 11. It saddens me because of all the people who converted, Larry Miller was the only guy to disappoint me. His Five Levels Of Drinking still kills me to this day.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | November 3, 2019 1:11 PM |
"People who connect EVERYTHING to politics must lead pretty sad lives."
But that's exactly what Deniis Miller did, and that's why people with brains hate him.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | November 3, 2019 1:16 PM |
i followed Norm years ago when I was on Twitter. He was a complete asshole. His comments and responses to followers were just shit.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | November 9, 2019 2:10 AM |
Just watched him. Horrible. Not a film specialist, insightful or a good host. Don’t like ben mankiewicz but at least he’s a professional. I have no idea what they are thinking by hiring him. WTF is that about? Has to be an inside relationship to get the job. Horrible choice,
by Anonymous | reply 30 | November 9, 2019 2:28 AM |
R30 I watched too on Friday night before Tootsie and he was awful.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | November 11, 2019 2:37 PM |
boycott the damn channel.....miller is as right wing a smart ass as they get.....monstrous
by Anonymous | reply 32 | November 11, 2019 2:39 PM |
I never found Norm MacDonald funny, R25, and was always mystified by people who insisted that he was a laugh riot. A smug and obnoxious persona, too.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | November 11, 2019 2:44 PM |
Next on TCM, Alex Jones will introduce a tribute to The Three Stooges.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | November 11, 2019 2:47 PM |
Ok is “right wind” some sort of new agey shit?
by Anonymous | reply 35 | November 11, 2019 3:05 PM |
How do you get TCM on Hulu???!
by Anonymous | reply 36 | November 11, 2019 5:01 PM |
R32 I think it's a temporary gig. Some commercial said he was only going to be hosting on Friday nights in November.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | November 11, 2019 5:39 PM |
Dennis Miller lead the charge against The Dixie Chicks years ago when they said they were ashamed of Bush being president. He is one of the people that helped damage their careers and actually put them in danger.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | November 11, 2019 5:45 PM |
R36, TCM is part of my Hulu live TV channel line up. It includes both the East and West coast TCM feeds (which has proven to come in handy more often than I would have thought.)
by Anonymous | reply 39 | November 11, 2019 6:41 PM |
He is such a smug asshole. Fuck him and his politics.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | November 11, 2019 8:09 PM |
I suppose they are "friends" if you asked, but I watched Martin Short's contradictory body language while he was talking to Miller after the showing of Tootsie on TCM. I found it quite interesting that other than his face, Short's entire body was turned away from Miller. His feet pointed away from him too. All of this usually conveys lack of interest, if not active dislike.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | November 11, 2019 9:25 PM |
R41 Kinda makes you wonder why Short bothered, but I suppose he needs the exposure and paycheck.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | November 11, 2019 10:17 PM |
Typo R35.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | November 11, 2019 10:33 PM |
I thought it was a joke of some kind when I saw that ad. What the living fuck? That POS is hosting his own show? How the fuck did that happen?
He HAD to have fucked something for that.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | November 12, 2019 12:21 AM |
The “chat” with Martin Short was the most cringeworthy TCM scene ever. Dennis Miller has no charisma or interviewing skills, o knowledge of film, no seeming real interest in his interviewee or subject. Absolutely painful and useless segment. Who thought Dennis Miller should be on TCM? Even IGNORE his politics, he is just horrible choice. Why?
by Anonymous | reply 45 | November 12, 2019 4:37 AM |
I'm torn because tonight he'll be presenting "Being There" and that's one of my favorite movies.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | November 15, 2019 8:47 PM |
I check the website calendar regularly, and TCM hasn't broadcast anything I haven't see before. For at least 12 months. Miller is probably the only way they can inject any novelty value.
Otherwise, TCM has gotten stale as fuck. And people who have lost it from their cable line-up should support Criterion Channel.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | November 15, 2019 8:57 PM |
I watched Soylent Green last night and Dana Carvey was on discussing the movie with Miller. They weren't too bad.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | November 24, 2019 4:00 AM |
I love Dana Carvey. He should've had a much better career.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | November 24, 2019 4:39 AM |
He's been hosting events at the TCM film festival for a few years now.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | November 24, 2019 4:40 AM |
A lot of their audience is older and a lot of older people are republican. He's not that controversial to them. (Although Illeana Douglas did says she posed for a photo with him on the red carpet of the last film festival and she get lacerated on twitter because of it. She made a point to say she leans left and he leans right but they try not to discuss politics.)
by Anonymous | reply 51 | November 24, 2019 4:43 AM |
I saw Dana Carvey on Fox News being interviewed about some project of his. I've been wary of him since. Same goes for Jon Lovitz, who has made his conservative leanings clear on occasion.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | November 24, 2019 5:48 AM |
I'm pissed that TCM became an upgrade. I watched it all the time but I refuse to pay the extra 10 bucks and I don't watch sports. My Comcast bill already went up $40 in the last year. Bastards. There are other ways to see old movies.
