Amy Irving getting $100 million of Steven Spielberg's fortune (at that time, half of it) rings memorable. Which others?
Anne Bass 200 million. Porfirio Rubirosa got some good settlements. Zsa Zsa Gabor.

Linda and Harry Macklowe split in June 2016 after the developer left his wife for his now-fiancée Patricia Landeau. Harry reportedly offered Linda $1 billion to walk away, a claim she rejected.

Linda Hamilton got... Marcia Murphey got ....California is a 50/50 divorce settlement state, both are considered equal in the marriage. They split the marriage in half, nobody GETS anything. Not a secret and from rich to poor still get married in Ca.

I’ve always dreamt of being that sort of paid-off divorcee. What an incredible jackpot to hit! How must it feel? Are you slightly guilty that it wasn’t your talent or work per se that generated the cash? I imagine you get over that pretty quick.
Imagine, you get to relax and enjoy for the rest of your life. Just because you existed and were a spouse.

You bitches have such short memories. I got $36 BILLION fucking dollars. Not too damn shabby I'd say.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | October 20, 2019 11:45 AM |
The assumption is that they contributed to that pile of cash. And, other regimes, they could easily have asked for everything. Added bonus--no more Amy Irving in show business.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | October 20, 2019 11:57 AM |
Love that picture of Amy in the OP. “Yay, I hit the jackpot!”
by Anonymous | reply 9 | October 25, 2019 7:50 PM |
Amy Irving was only married to Steven Spielberg for four years. $100 million! For FOUR fucking years of marriage!
You have to bow down to that kind of hustle.

But Irving and Spielberg had a child together and he wanted out in order to marry his current wife.

Ellen Barkin got $60M from Ron Perelman.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | October 25, 2019 8:14 PM |
As I recall, they were only married 4 years but had been together for over ten years. So she was around for his success and the court felt that she had stabilised his home life and contributed ideas to his creativits that enabled that success. That part is true, he seems to need a little woman at home since he immediately moved in with his mistress Kate Capshaw and has stayed put ever since. I also think the fact that he had cheated on Amy with Kate didn't help. I think California was still a fault State.
Plus they had a kid together and the court is very interested in reducing the desparity on life style. That's why Halle Berry had to buy her ex husband a house in LA close to her zip code.

Diandra Douglas received about $40 million, but then she lost a lot of it (Madoff?). Michael got his revenge by publicly savagely attacking her character when their son Cameron was on trial for trafficking drugs.

I think the prenup that Spielberg made her sign on a napkin probably also pissed the court off. Most jurisdictions just void a prenup if the party signed without full information or legal advice. If you draw up a prenup at the wedding rehearsal that's just plain coercion. She's not in the right state of mind to make smart choices for her future.
I'm guessing that that irked the judge on a personal level and probably made him side eye Spielberg

R18 Is that why she's out here spreading her legs to at least two married men we know of? What a tramp. And why does she still go by "Murphy"?

Amy is nearly broke now.

R16 It's my understanding that the State of California has been a community property state almost from it's inception, and its no-fault law became effective with the Family Law Act of 1969.

R20, she seems like a gold digger extraordinaire. She is 51 and I give her credit for staying in shape. Here she is with director Antoine Fuqua (married).
by Anonymous | reply 23 | October 25, 2019 8:33 PM |
R17 What did Michael Douglas say about her character at the trial? The nerve! From his sons story, it was Michael who exposes him to drugs as a child. It was Michael who was so absent that he hired a busboy to be the masculine role model for the kid. It was Michael who while coming down from a drug binge would take his son out to breakfast. The sheer audacity to be that shitty a father and still blame the mum.

I remember right before she met Perelman, thinking Ellen Barkin had kind of hit the wall and was done careerwise. Felt a little sorry for her. Boy, she made bank. She later said nasty things about him as I recall, but seems like a piece of work herself.

by Anonymous | reply 27 | October 25, 2019 9:29 PM |
R24 Michael Douglas was behind a huge PR campaign to portray Diandra as a negligent mother. There were dozens of letters submitted to the judge attesting to that. It was truly brutal. However, it seems to now have been scrubbed from the internet.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | October 25, 2019 9:34 PM |
I wonder about that too, R27. There have been so many rumors that Spielberg is an extremely powerful pedo - and Irving's career was pretty much over after their marriage.

Madonna losing that much money to Guy Ritchie still shocks me. I always thought Madonna was a hard-nosed businesswoman. She really let Guy Ritchie get the best of her.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | November 6, 2019 4:46 AM |
I think the Madonna divorce settlement was exaggerated:
[quote]On Monday, Liz Rosenberg, the singer's US spokeswoman, said the deal was worth at least £50m, although a source close to Ritchie cast doubt on the figure. The settlement is thought to have included the division of a number of properties owned by the former couple, including their country house, Ashcombe, in Wiltshire, and the Punchbowl pub in London's Mayfair. Ritchie, a film director, had been quoted by a British newspaper last month as saying the separation was "never, ever about the money". A source on Madonna's side told the Guardian there had been "so many assumptions" regarding the deal.

Parker Stevenson got $6 mill from Scientalley:
"Fittingly, NBC’s “Cheers” actress Kirstie Alley says she picked up her husband Parker Stevenson at a bar. The two married in 1983 and divorced after two children and 14 years of marriage. Stevenson, himself a TV actor of ABC’s “The Hardy Boys Mysteries” and NBC’s “Baywatch” fame, ended up with $6 million of Alley’s money in the divorce."

I read that Camille Grammer was able to get such a large divorce settlement because during their marriage, Kelsey Grammer just went to the set every day and filmed Fraser while she was busy investing his earnings and Cheers residuals in real estate.
Apparently the gains on her investments were so much higher than the stock market index that she was able to negotiate a large percentage of the added value in the settlement. Kind of the opposite of a trophy wife to be honest: instead of spending his money at designer boutiques she productively invested it.

I don't know about a settlement, but Liza gave David Gest a good beating.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | November 6, 2019 4:18 PM |
Camille Grammer didn't have a pre-nup, so she received half of everything Kelsey earned during their marriage. That included Fraiser and Medium money plus other investments/earings. They also share two children. I don't recall if she took a lump sum or she also received child support? His current wife didn't sign a pre-nup either.

They had the most beautiful house in Malibu. It was an absolute paradise. I don't know how much of that was her or him.
They also had a nice place in Aspen.
She probably has very good taste and style when it comes to property.
And come to think of it, she WAS clearly important in their acquisition - SHE chose to dump Maurizio (her real estate agent) when his wife displeased her.
(the RHOBH-DLers know all about this)
