Hemochromatosis
Does anyone here have this? It’s a syndrome where your body stores too much iron which can harm your orgasm overtime especially your liver. It’s one of the few conditions where doctors recommend bloodletting. You keep getting blood taken until your ferritin level drops to a normal range. Then when your iron builds up again you have to give pints of blood repeatedly all over again.
I’m asking because it’s suspected that I have it.

I have it. I have one iron overloading gene from one parent and a different iron overloading gene from the other. One doctor says nothing to worry about, no treatment. Other doctor says bloodletting required. So I spilled blood every other week for a few months. Ferritin now normal, but total iron now quite low. I’m technically now anemic. Never had any symptoms, still don’t.

My sister's son has it. He was tired all the time. no energy, etc. and after a bunch of tests he was diagnosed with hemochromatosis and he has ADdison's disease, and his Thyroid stopped functioning so he has meds he has to take the rest of his life. he was in his late 20's when he was diagnosed.

It’s pretty common in people of Irish descent and surprisingly not well known in the US.(considering the large percentage of people who are of Irish descent). But 23andMe and similar can tell you if you have it or are a carrier.

I would imagine going through an MRI is verboten since the machines operate with powerful magnetism?

Isn’t iron storage in the brain something that can happen later or a symptom that not everyone gets until living with the disease for x amount of years? I get an MRI on my head and it’s never be seen.
