Forgive me if this has already been discussed, I did a search and couldn’t find anything. I didn’t know (not surprised, of course) that a new adaptation of The Stand is being filmed for CBS. Somehow this passed me by. Here’s a partial list of actors : Whoopi Goldberg as Mother Abigail. Heather Graham as Rita. James Marsden as Stu. Amber Heard as Nadine (ugh). Alexander Skarsgard as Randall Flagg. Greg Kinnear as Glen Bateman (seems too young). I don’t really recognize the actors playing Frannie (Odessa Young), Nick (Henry Zaga), Harold (Henry Teague), or Tom Cullen (Brad William Henke). Also, Stephen King is supposedly writing a new ending, a coda that follows up on the survivors. It’s supposed to be 10 episodes. I was surprised by the series in the 90’s that starred Gary Sinise as Stu, it wasn’t bad for a network miniseries.
