Good affordable natural candles

I realize this may be a DL can of worms, but I find myself completely out of scented candles for the home. Don't take away my gay card!

I don't burn them that often, but if a cooking smell invades the house or someone smokes a joint inside or something like that, it's good to have a few around.

I prefer natural soy candles with natural scented oils. I'm willing to spend up to maybe $45 per candle, or more for a larger size.

As for scents, we're easy to please and like natural woodsy or citrusy scents mostly.

Do any makers come to mind?

OP, what was in your last haul?

by Anonymousreply 1October 15, 2019 11:19 PM

We love these. You can sometimes find them in TJ Maxx, but they are also available online from several vendors.

I like Partylite Candles their jar candies are reasonable and their burn time is longer. They are made with paraffin wax, so they burn clean.

Take your frau-bait elsewhere.

by Anonymousreply 4October 15, 2019 11:23 PM

This brand is great, too.

Zara has scented soy candles in your price range. And they go on sale 2x a year for half off. Scents change every year or so.

R4 are you speaking to me? I do not sell PL I just love candles. They really do burn clean. I’m a clean freak, so I’m done with the black soot all over my walls.

Your gay card had been revoked, please exit the premise immediately

I increasingly see soy wax scented candles in middle range grocery stores.... In France and Switzerland.

by Anonymousreply 9October 15, 2019 11:26 PM

This is a great candle too. R8

These are made by a lovely woman and just reek of relaxation. My favorite scent is "Merlot Morning."

Aveda has soy candles with natural scents that are great, or at least they used to.

by Anonymousreply 15October 16, 2019 1:33 AM

R14 DL they burn clean?

by Anonymousreply 16October 16, 2019 1:34 AM

I have a scented candle line, but so far it's not doing very well.

Yankee has a bold new scent called Highway Diaper - it'll certainly liven up your home!

I simply don't know of any candles in the $45 range, OP. All the candles I burn on my yacht are at least $115 each, like this. Best of luck to you and your budget-friendly candles

It says "Made in the USA" right there on the front of the candle.

Comfort Candles, Fredericksburg, Texas. This is where I order my candles. Ben the owner is my childhood friend, and every candle is handcrafted by him since 2000. No dyes, no additives, and all-cotton wicks. From his site: “Long lasting fragrance and less smoke and soot than a paraffin wax candle.”

by Anonymousreply 24October 16, 2019 2:42 AM

I mean it’s difficult for me to join in this conversation, because I only burn the best.

$45 per candle? Just burn $. It will be cheaper and much, much cooler.

by Anonymousreply 31October 16, 2019 5:36 AM

I like McCall's myself... I don't believe they're SOY though. They smell great, and I dig the containers.

by Anonymousreply 32October 16, 2019 5:45 AM

I love WoodWick Candles. Clean burning soy candles in a great variety of fragrances. And they have that cool wooden wick that sounds like a crackling fire.

by Anonymousreply 33October 16, 2019 5:50 AM

OP, your gay card has been revoked, shredded, and burned. Now pack your shit, and go back to i-village!

I like Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day because they're easy to find at the local Hy-Vee or online, and the lemon verbena smell is light enough that it doesn't get too overpowering.

by Anonymousreply 36October 17, 2019 12:17 PM

I agree about Mrs Meyer’s. I like the seasonal Mums fragrance. It also fills up a room with the scent unlike some candles.

by Anonymousreply 37October 17, 2019 12:58 PM

How about Chanel No. 5 candles?
