So young.

Oh my goodness I just saw him in the El Camino movie

by Anonymousreply 2October 12, 2019 2:51 AM

Which El Camino movie?

by Anonymousreply 3October 12, 2019 2:58 AM

The Breaking Bad movie on Netflix.

by Anonymousreply 4October 12, 2019 3:02 AM

Me too. Just watched it a few hours ago and noticed how much older he looked.

RIP

by Anonymousreply 5October 12, 2019 3:02 AM

As others said, I just watched him in the El Camino movie. He played a tough bastard. RIP.

by Anonymousreply 6October 12, 2019 3:03 AM

Which El Camino movie?

by Anonymousreply 7October 12, 2019 3:05 AM

Wah!!! I love him! May he rest in peace.

by Anonymousreply 11October 12, 2019 3:11 AM

I always thought he was totes hot as he got older.

by Anonymousreply 12October 12, 2019 3:11 AM

Object of Brando's desire, nude on horseback, in "Reflections in a Golden Eye" (1967).

His "Medium Cool" co-star, Verna Bloom, died earlier this year. Good movie.

Good looking man.

by Anonymousreply 20October 12, 2019 3:29 AM

He did one of the first ā€” if not THE first ā€”Ā frontal nude scenes ever in movies.

Respect.

by Anonymousreply 21October 12, 2019 4:11 AM

R10, no. I just love him, that is all.

by Anonymousreply 22October 12, 2019 4:28 AM

Holy shit Iā€™m watching El Camino right now and his screen time just ended like 5 minutes ago. Then I come here and see this thread. I canā€™t believe it.

by Anonymousreply 23October 12, 2019 4:31 AM

ā€œMedium Coolā€ was excellent. Forster and Marianna Hill were a sexy couple.

by Anonymousreply 24October 12, 2019 4:32 AM

I liked him.

by Anonymousreply 25October 12, 2019 4:33 AM

Trailblazer for male nudity in American cinema. And the star of what will always be Tarantino's best film.

by Anonymousreply 26October 12, 2019 4:36 AM

He was nominated for an Oscar for Jackie Brown, but lost to Robin Williams in Good Will Hunting. I saw an article in the Hollywood Reporter that called his character in Jackie Brown ā€œnefarious ā€œ, but I didnā€™t agree. Love that movie, and love the soundtrack, too.

Incredible actor. He was so captivating in El Camino. RIP. x

by Anonymousreply 28October 12, 2019 5:32 AM

I saw "Reflections in a Golden Eye" so long ago I forgot or didn't know he was the horse riding soldier. Dunno much of his work aside from "Jackie Brown", but I think of him in that scene where JB plays the Delfonics for him and he loves them so much. He seemed easy to like.

He was handsome and sexy right to the end. Yum.

Roger Ebert said he should have won the Oscar for that one.

Itā€™s like he held on long enough to get this movie made and then peacefully checked out. Iā€™m still in shock. I was so happy to see him in the movie. He certainly made it more enjoyable. The show, too. He made his character feel so realistic that you couldnā€™t doubt men like him exist in real life. Like you were finally glimpsing at a part of the underworld thatā€™s often spoken about but never shown.

May he Rest In Peace.

R15 From "Reflections in a Golden Eye." He was beyond beautiful in that movie.

by Anonymousreply 39October 12, 2019 3:09 PM

I used to get confused between Robert Forster (AKA Bobby Montanarella) and Bobby Gubitosi (AKA Robert Blake).

R21 IMDB didn't include him in their list of frontal nude scenes.

Bryan Cranston tweeted:

ā€œIā€™m saddened today by the news that Robert Forster has passed away,ā€ Cranston wrote. ā€œA lovely man and a consummate actor. I met him on the movie Alligator 40 years ago, and then again on BB. I never forgot how kind and generous he was to a young kid just starting out in Hollywood. RIP Bob.ā€

by Anonymousreply 41October 12, 2019 4:21 PM

From Aaron Paul:

"I am heartbroken to hear the news of the passing of Robert Forster. My god. I had the privilege of knowing this beautiful man and working along side of him. A true gentleman that loved to act. I love you my friend. Thank you for loving me. You are and always will be a legend."

by Anonymousreply 42October 12, 2019 4:23 PM

He's the second actor associated with Twin Peaks to die this year, the first being Peggy Lipton five months ago.

by Anonymousreply 45October 12, 2019 4:29 PM

R43, also Miguel Ferrer,Harry Dean Stanton and the log lady. Not sure if they died this year or last year, but seems like David Lynch helped these actors to do what they loved even though they were nearing the end.

[quote]Oh my goodness I just saw him in the El Camino movie

I just watched it on Netflix yesterday. I didn't remember Robert Forster's name but did notice is rugged good looks even at 78. Also, liked his no nonsense character he played on the show.

by Anonymousreply 47October 12, 2019 4:54 PM

Cut cock outline in R38's briefs photo.

by Anonymousreply 48October 12, 2019 5:02 PM

Very handsome man. 78 years is a good run. Wasn't Jackie Brown a big comeback for him?

by Anonymousreply 49October 12, 2019 5:34 PM

He had a short-lived series in the mid-1970s called "Nakia." He was at his peak hotness. His character was supposed to be American Indian, even though he was combo of Irish, Italian and English descent. He stirred something in me as a 14-year-old. The name "Nakia" would enter crossword puzzle clues as "Robert Forster role."

by Anonymousreply 50October 12, 2019 5:36 PM

Was he a boxer? There was something off about his nose in his youth.

by Anonymousreply 51October 12, 2019 5:39 PM

[quote]Wasn't Jackie Brown a big comeback for him?

Yes, he had been forgotten about for some years by then.

Roger Ebert picked Forster as the one who should have won the Supporting Oscar that year.

by Anonymousreply 52October 12, 2019 5:48 PM

Thanks R52. I'm not a Quentin Tarantino fan, but one thing that I've always liked about him is how he'll cast these obscure, long-forgotten actors in his films and totally resurrect their careers. If I'm not mistaken, Jackie Brown was a big comeback for Pam Grier too.

by Anonymousreply 53October 12, 2019 5:55 PM

He made a guest appearance on an episode of Murder She Wrote set in the Big Easy.
