Isn’t that a quiche?

by Anonymousreply 1October 8, 2019 6:05 PM

R1 Shut your fucking mouth

by Anonymousreply 2October 8, 2019 6:06 PM

lou malnatti......they ship everywhere........simply the best.........yum

by Anonymousreply 3October 8, 2019 6:06 PM

That is such garbage pizza.

It looks like it was scientifically designed to create more fat people.

by Anonymousreply 4October 8, 2019 6:07 PM

Try Jett's Pizza. They are a chain with excellent deep dish pizza.

by Anonymousreply 5October 8, 2019 6:22 PM

OP is morbidly obese.

by Anonymousreply 6October 8, 2019 6:24 PM

It is so easy to make,

Make a tough pie crust, fill with pound of cheese, put a too sweet tomato sauce on top. Bake for a long time.

All done!

by Anonymousreply 7October 8, 2019 6:31 PM

where do you live? I'm personally a big fan of Zachary's in Oakland but it's not a chain

by Anonymousreply 8October 8, 2019 6:31 PM

Just pour some Ragu on toast.

by Anonymousreply 9October 8, 2019 6:32 PM

Eat a meatball sub--load it with cheese and oregano

by Anonymousreply 10October 8, 2019 6:34 PM

OP, that photo doesn't resemble the pizza I picked up from Pizzeria Uno in Chicago. It was so unexpectedly heavy I almost dropped it and I couldn't eat more than 2 slices. I've never seen anything that resembles what I bought there. Maybe make your own?

by Anonymousreply 12October 8, 2019 6:43 PM

They opened a place that specialised in this in London in the late 70s. It was a huge hit and a very big deal and the pizzas were so good and I've never had one since it shut down. It was called The Chicago Pizza Pie Factory.

I used to live in Chicago and had Giordano’s on speed dial! It’s like a really thick cheese casserole with any toppings you want. It’s very yummy but terrible for you. What city are you in OP?

by Anonymousreply 15October 8, 2019 6:51 PM
What city are you in OP?

OP's one of those idiots who doesn't realize this the internet is world wide.

by Anonymousreply 16October 8, 2019 6:53 PM

I love Uno pizza. Nothing else matches it for Chicago style. You say it's too expensive? Suck it up, OP -- you gotta pay to play!

I've had Giorgano's in Chicago. After Uno, it was very disappointing.

by Anonymousreply 17October 8, 2019 6:54 PM

OP's NUTZ!

by Anonymousreply 18October 8, 2019 6:56 PM

I love the Chicago style deep dish, but I am also a BIG casserole lover

by Anonymousreply 19October 8, 2019 6:56 PM

R16 You stupid cunt. IF I'm not going to pay $30 for a small deep dish pizza from UNO (local), why am I going to pay 90+ to have it shipped from Chicago or someplace else?

by Anonymousreply 20October 8, 2019 6:58 PM

Lou Malnatis has a much better crust than Uno's. But if you are looking for the absolute best deep dish in Chicago, you have to go to Peuqod's. The sauce is mouth-watering.

I think YOU'RE the stupid cunt, actually - who gives a shit about your stupid pizza. You're a nasty little girl.

by Anonymousreply 25October 8, 2019 8:10 PM

R24 Look, you useless gormless strumpet. I'm in the mood for deep dish, Chicagoan style pizza pie and unless you can offer an economical, convenient way for me to get it I don't see much point in your commentary.

by Anonymousreply 26October 8, 2019 8:12 PM

Where are you in the world OP?

by Anonymousreply 27October 8, 2019 8:53 PM

I haven't had it in quite a while but Uno sold their deep dish pizza in grocery stores in the frozen food section and it wasn't anywhere close to even $10 for a large, but their large is anyone else's medium.

by Anonymousreply 28October 8, 2019 9:07 PM

R27, based on his friendly replies, hell probably.

by Anonymousreply 29October 8, 2019 9:47 PM

That's no pizza.

by Anonymousreply 30October 8, 2019 9:55 PM

R23...I see you take your talking points from Trump.

by Anonymousreply 31October 8, 2019 9:56 PM

That ain’t a pizza. It may taste good, but don’t call it pizza.

by Anonymousreply 32October 8, 2019 10:03 PM

I agree. It's a tomato pie.

by Anonymousreply 33October 8, 2019 10:04 PM

That's a casserole with a glandular problem.

by Anonymousreply 34October 8, 2019 10:06 PM

I'd like to smash it into OP's nasty face.

by Anonymousreply 35October 8, 2019 10:22 PM
It looks like it was scientifically designed to create more fat people.

Yeah, some science. Take a normal pizza and make it much bigger.

by Anonymousreply 36October 8, 2019 10:27 PM

It’s horrid! A pizza should have a thin crust and very few toppings.

by Anonymousreply 37October 8, 2019 10:27 PM

I hate the word pie when it follows the word pizza.

by Anonymousreply 38October 8, 2019 10:43 PM

You mustn't let the nastiness of OP's personality put you off. They can be very tasty and a more solid meal than the thin ones, when done well.

by Anonymousreply 39October 8, 2019 10:57 PM

Just go to Yelp and look for places near you. Why does OP not know how to use the internet?

by Anonymousreply 40October 8, 2019 11:04 PM

You only live once OP.

Mangia!

by Anonymousreply 41October 8, 2019 11:17 PM

Save yourself - avoid it.

Those deep-dish pizzas have a lot of toppings or fillings. Depending on how many servings you get from that pizza, it might be worth $30. Especially if it's restaurant service.

by Anonymousreply 46October 9, 2019 1:55 AM

I remember enjoying Pizzaria Uno in Central Ohio when I was a college student in the early 90s. Not long ago I tried the pizza at the Uno’s on the Upper West Side of Manhattan and it was disgusting.

by Anonymousreply 47October 9, 2019 2:17 AM

Uno's is just like Pizza Hut, a chain for trashy people who have no idea what good pizza is supposed to taste like.

by Anonymousreply 48October 9, 2019 2:19 AM

Uno sucks. There’s a place in Los Angeles called Hollywood pies and they are very good

by Anonymousreply 49October 9, 2019 2:28 AM

R48 pizza hut was good once upon a time, back in the 80s and 90s. Not as good as real ny pizza, but it was good. The crust used to be delicious and crispy golden as if fried on the outside, soft and tasty inside. The cheese was much better quality than now. People who are too young to remember how pizza hut pizza used to be would be pissed off at how terrible it has become if they could taste the difference. Now, the crust is flavorless bread soft all over, and the flavors they add if you ask are pathetic. Cheap crappy cheese and sauce. It doesn't even taste like it's from the same place. Pizza hut pizza is a shadow of its former self.

by Anonymousreply 50October 9, 2019 3:02 AM
pizza hut was good once upon a time

Yeah, in the same way Wonder bread used to be good, and Maxwell House coffee used to be good --when people didn't know any better.

But, no, it was never really good. It was always trashy Americanized garbage.

by Anonymousreply 51October 9, 2019 3:31 AM

R51 Maxwell House is fine a coffee brand you snobbish little cunt.

by Anonymousreply 52October 9, 2019 3:38 AM

I remember the Pizza Hut "pan pizza" being good, in the 1990s. I remember the crust being really nicely browned and crispy. No, it wasn't authentic, but I do remember it being very tasty. I always stuck with pepperoni or cheese. I heard that they put oil in the pan before dropping in the dough (hence the crispy, brown crust).

by Anonymousreply 53October 9, 2019 3:41 AM

R53 Dominos makes a better one now. Same sort of thing. They really did well on the whole "our Pizza is/was shit and we're sorry" marketing strategy

by Anonymousreply 54October 9, 2019 3:45 AM

I haven't had Chicago Deep Dish in years. It's delicious, but it's like consuming an entire log of mozzarella.

by Anonymousreply 55October 9, 2019 3:47 AM

Red Barron individual mini deep dish pizzas @ Dollar Tree for a buck. Works for me.

by Anonymousreply 56October 9, 2019 3:52 AM

R54, I haven't had Domino's pizza since they changed their formulas. I'll keep that in mind.

by Anonymousreply 57October 9, 2019 3:53 AM
Red Barron individual mini deep dish pizzas @ Dollar Tree for a buck. Works for me.

Yes, those are very good (little bit salty) & remind me of the old Pizza Hut personal pan pizzas.

by Anonymousreply 58October 9, 2019 3:54 AM

R51, I was born and raised in NYC, I know good pizza. Pizza hut could never compare to that, but it WAS good once. Alas, no longer.

by Anonymousreply 59October 9, 2019 5:16 AM

That’s quite a humorous marketing strategy R54. I wonder if any other companies have used it. I can’t remember one.

by Anonymousreply 60October 9, 2019 1:00 PM

R15 Giordano’s just opened a new place here in Vegas.

by Anonymousreply 61October 9, 2019 1:15 PM

New York style cheese slices are my favorite, but I thought Giordano's spinach deep dish was pretty damn good. And it was ordered by my cousin who grew up in Chicago, so I trust her taste in the matter.

by Anonymousreply 62October 9, 2019 1:32 PM
UNO pizza and they're charging ***30 DOLLARS** for a small!

My local UNO is charging $10.99-12.99 for a small. ***11 to 13 DOLLARS*** not ***30 DOLLARS***.

by Anonymousreply 63October 9, 2019 1:35 PM

UNO is disgusting. Are there once and never again!

by Anonymousreply 64October 9, 2019 5:08 PM

There is a chain based out of Atlanta called Blue Moon Pizza. Much pricier than Pizza Hut, Poppa John's on Domino's but very good.

by Anonymousreply 65October 9, 2019 5:48 PM
There is a chain based out of Atlanta

Which means it is [italic]in[/italic] Atlanta, in normal English?

by Anonymousreply 66October 9, 2019 5:54 PM

R66 - Blue Moon pizza has retail outlets all over the Southeast with the headquarters IN Atlanta, Georgia.

Are you the Headmistress of The DL English Department?

by Anonymousreply 67October 9, 2019 6:00 PM

My husband used to make a great sausage and tomato sauce quiche but then he became vegetarian and wouldn’t give me the recipe.

by Anonymousreply 68October 9, 2019 6:06 PM

OP is full of it. The UNO where I live charges $12.99- $27 for a deep dish pizza. First price is for a 7" small, last price is for a 12" large.

by Anonymousreply 69October 9, 2019 6:30 PM

Pizza Hut is so much better in London. Regarding "Deep Dish", here in Chicago, Pequod's is better than both Uno's and Lou Malnatti's, as R21 recommends. Second down the list I would argue is Gino's East, followed by Giordano's.

Gino's East makes small (ish) frozen Deep Dish personal pizzas that are really good, and often on sale for $5.99. Depending where you reside OP, perhaps look for one of these.

by Anonymousreply 70October 9, 2019 6:31 PM

Lou Malnatti's sausage has always tasted a bit off to me. Better to get Pepperoni or just cheese IMHO.

by Anonymousreply 71October 9, 2019 6:33 PM

Aldi's sometimes has the Gino's East frozen deep dish pizza.

by Anonymousreply 72October 9, 2019 6:38 PM

R72 Yes, I have seen it, but probably only in Chicago, like many other local items, i.e. Vienna Hot Dogs, Turano French Rolls, Buona Beef, etc. Aldi does this with many popularly local items in several different markets.

by Anonymousreply 73October 9, 2019 6:42 PM

Italian beef! Let's talk about Italian beef!

by Anonymousreply 74October 10, 2019 2:13 AM

Lou Malnatti's puts butter in the crust - I never could develop a taste for that kind of crust but it's their signature. Also, they sprinkle too much dried basil /oregano / pepper on top. You can ask for it without this but still - I never liked Lou Malnatis deep dish. Thin was fine.

Pequods is ok if you truly like the "Caramelized crust" thing. I think it's too bready.

I forgot what Unos tasted like. It's been a while.

Giordanos is the pizza that can give me an orgasm and put me into a blissful 8 hour sleep shortly thereafter... especially the vegetable stuffed one. Eduardo's was another one in that category.

by Anonymousreply 75October 10, 2019 2:26 AM

We had a pizzeria Uno here years ago. I tried it once and was not impressed. It didn't last all that long. We have some really good pizza here but most are thin or medium crust.

by Anonymousreply 76October 10, 2019 3:09 AM

I tried frozen Gino's East one. The crust tasted like cardboard.
