San Pedro Cactus Compared to Ayahuasca

That sounds nice, actually. I definitely need more grounding and connecting to the nature.

I’m terrified of psychedelics. I can’t even handle weed anymore, one time a friend gave me weed that was a strain with a very high level of whatever psychoactive chemical makes you high. It was a pot smoke experience that was profoundly different than the others I used to enjoy, I became terrified and paranoid and felt like my heart was going to blow up in my chest. So I don’t know if I should ever risk taking anything like mescaline or peyote.

R4, Most who take San Pedro cactus or Ayahuasca travel to South America for the experience. I find users stories interesting but of course I remain 100% drug free. No longer take any proscribed or OTC meds either. Swear by Tumeric, curry, cinnamon, garlic, chili peppers, ginger, etc.

Yes, R5 and it is increasingly harder to have an "authentic" experience because of the tourism that has developed around it. Many charlatans selling sub-par shit and putting people in dangerous situations.

I want to take San Pedro with the guy in OP's vid and then connect – spiritually and otherwise – with his mouth, his hole, and his pee pee.

A friend of mine went to Peru and did one of those Ayahuasca ceremony things - she had the worst trip and saw trump destroying the entire world - and it involved mushroom clouds. I wouldn’t touch any of that shit.

R8, what did you order? I did not see anything labeled San Pedro there.

It's just a trip. Like LSD if you're in a good calm mood, you will have a nice trip. If you're going through some issues or have fear, don't do it. It magnifies your feelings.

I suppose that's why people microdose.

R10 the correct name for san pedro is trichocereus pachanoi (you want the non pc) Most of their cuttings are San Pedro

Thank you R12 and R14! I have ordered some, but how do you ingest it? Very excited, hallucinogens are bucket list for me but my one attempt with LSD was a bust and I went nowhere.

There are many methods, but whichever one you choose remember that most of the goodies are in the dark green flesh. When a recipe calls for peeling they are talking about the translucent waxy skin. You want to keep the dark green flesh. If a recipe says to remove the dark green skin then look for something else.

I plan on doing something along the lines of below, but using a crock pot.

R19, thank you! Was wondering how I would ever calibrate a dosage. I saw where someone also dehydrated it and made it into a powder, but it looked like a LOT of work.

San Pedro didn’t do much for me. I think 1 foot wasn’t enough 😰

Mine arrived just as I was leaving on vacation so I planted it per the instructions provided with my cutting. That was in February. Wondering how quickly it grows, maybe I can grow more.

Mescaline is much preferble to Ayahuasca. IF you get it clean. (Me make our own.)

If you keep the dose right (I mistakenly took a four-way hit the first time and it was too intense - I lay on the ground and could feel the Earth turning while it sped through space and later found I got the turning direction right. But otherwise it is gentler. Ayahuasca has some well-known dangers and cuts into the bone after going through the flesh, and you sit there watch yourself bleed out. On mesc I have had true realizations and felt the courage to go where I can't always reach when "straight." I have found the ayahuasca revelatory with a high cost, and then couldn't trace back to what it was about, other than misery.

I don't need a mystic experience to tell me I'm a mess, I'm mortal, and in the end we all rot in a hole or burn in a furnace! It's there for understanding and fun.

What else would you want from Peru but some really pure, high-quality blow?

I have this cactus right outside my front door. I never knew it was a hallucinogen. I think there is power in opening yourself up to the universe through such means. Should I try it? I'm at home not doing anything else... maybe I will. As a side note, this cactus produces beautiful night blooming flowers and a deliciously sweet fruit.
