I'll start. I never found Brad Pitt all that hot, especially in his younger days. Cartoonish lips, heavy jaw and the charisma of a cardboard box. I know I'm alone
His upper lip thinned up.

Pitt was physically good-looking back in the day, but so devoid of charisma he wasn't attractive.
Bradley Cooper was never attractive, he's not even slightly handsome and gives me the creeps.

I could never stand Tom Cruise, and he was exactly my type. He just never had any real charisma. I couldnt stand John Travolta either (though I did love Saturday night fever) .

I always found Brad's blond locks laughably fake: he was like some himbo equivalent of the Landers sisters. Or Fabio, who at least kept his equally silly hair clean and brushed.
But at the height of his fame, no one ever thought to criticize him for his absurdly overbleached hair. Did America believe it was naturally highlighted by the sun or something?

President Lincoln did a terrible job managing the war. I think he had, maybe, 6 generals he hired as head of the army. He kept hiring and firing p them.
Washington was also a terrible general . He didn’t win many battles, but was good at retreating. He mostly relied on wearing the British out. Plus he had the French Navy.

Not to turn this into a diss Brad Pitt thread, but I agree. Hes obviously a good looking guy but he doesnt nothing for me in terms of sexual appeal.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | October 3, 2019 12:10 AM |
Johnny Depp. I found the whole charade of him being the new face of "oddball" actors and "outcasts" of Hollywood quite frankly irritating and trite. And seeing how that's played out in the last thirty years of his career really just shows what a farce of an arse he truly was and is. There was nothing deep or poetic about him or his acting.

President Herbert Hoover gets a raw deal. He was President at the beginning of the Great Depression and is sometimes blamed for it. He was a great humanitarian. And he was President at a time when the Presidency was weak and not expected to interfere with the economy, too much.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | October 3, 2019 12:16 AM |
I’ll tell you what I hate about Bradford Pitt is that stupid scrunched up furrowed brow look with “I’m sensitive” eyes he used to always do. It’s the same one Jaiden Smith pulls, horrible.

Marlon Brando. Painfully overrated.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | October 3, 2019 12:17 AM |
Not only am I sick of most of the elder leading men from 70s films and their lazy, phoned in performances in recent decades (Nicholson, Pacino, DeNiro, etc.)....
I find a lot of their earlier, much-acclaimed performances hammy, tired, over-the-top, and cliched. Even in some outstanding films of that era.
None of them ever did much for me physically, either. Pacino had a youthful handsomeness and DeNiro (oh-so-briefly) had a kind of sexual magnetism, but I always found Nicholson oily and creepy.

Same for Steven Spielberg as a director.

Another one who thinks Depp is, and always was, incredibly overrated. For some reason, he became the critics' darling who would practically fellate him for any piece of crap he released. At one point, Depp could have compiled clips of him taking huge, smelly dumps on the can and the critics would have raved.

A number of obvious, showy actors become critical darlings: Brando, Depp, Daniel Day Lewis. Remember when Jim Carey was actually becoming a respected thespian?
There are so many wonderful lower-key actors who can modulate their performances that aren't equally noticed, mostly because they do their job so well.

i concur brad pitt never did anything for me! never found him that attractive except for the well lit moments in "legends of the fall".. otherwise, pock marked face, ridiculously comical attempt at a deep voice that sounded fake, oh sure he had ripped abs who wouldn't if they were 6 feet plus and weighed what 160 pounds( i.e. his supposedly oh so sexy star turn in thelma and louise where he looked like a boy, sorry i want a M-A-N!)..
. i can name countless blond men (much less other hair color men) over the years just in hollyweird land that makes brad pitt look like "aarf'.. examples, charles wahlheim, shawn christian, mike o'hearn, just to name 3, granted their not the greatest actors themselves and had/have their careers because of their looks, i'm just saying if one was to judge strictly on looks and body not acting talent or who they knew/know and why they didn't get the breaks like a brad pitt..
tom cruise was photogenic in photos, that's what made him a star...
johnny depp? oh please!
so ridiculous how the hollywood media machine tries to brainwash us to think that the so called "hottest men" are in movies/tv and hollywood! ..
who on this site, can't name drop dead breathtakingly gorgeous and built men that they see at their gym, restaurants, sporting events, the beach, and elsewhere that would make the so called hollywood hunks look quiet average....
because they are actors, they are automatically elevated in the looks and body department...

Agree about Depp. I'm not sure if my opinion is unpopular or not, but I never got Rob Lowe (Raw Blow). His features were just too fine and pretty and he didn't register to me as being a hot hunk of manliness, even in his ingenue days. He's had a long career but never made it to A-list stardom because he is pretty charisma free and lacking in that certain something. He's OK in supporting roles now that he's old and seems to have a good sense of humor about himself though.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | October 3, 2019 1:13 AM |
i concur with gosling and affleck and damon and hammer.. makes one think, who are the ones creating them and making them stars! ??? when countless guys are handsomer, way more so, have better bodies and surely can act just as well if not better then these guys!..
a perfect example of who you know and what you'll do to be famous...
i remember one time, when i was working in la la land, having to drop a package off at this production company that was holding auditions and i saw a room of beautiful drop dead gorgeous blonde women with all incredible bodies! made pam anderson look like leftover dog food, and i thought "why aren't any of them stars?" it's not like pam anderson and her ilk are great actresses too!... saw many a time of dark haired and blond hair male actors in audition rooms that were literally so beautiful that it "hurt" to look at them. once again, i thought why are they "nobodies".. the so called hot male actors can't possibly be that much better actors them them?!..
i do think it's the changing aspect of what is considered handsome and beautiful and the thinking we want our actors and actresses who are NOT great actors, good looking but NOT TOO good looking so the audience can identify with them a little bit.. OF COURSE THIS WAS THE OPPOSITE mentality in the golden age of hollywood and the studio system until the studio system ended and everything was "more real and gritty" starting more or less in the 70's...
by Anonymous | reply 42 | October 3, 2019 1:16 AM |
I think Pitt is very good looking but I never found him to pack a lot of heat, meaning he was boring to me and didnt register high on the sexual energy scale.. Ive not seen him in too many movies, but I will have to say he was incredibly good in his latest, once upon a time in hollywood
by Anonymous | reply 43 | October 3, 2019 1:18 AM |
Jake Gyllenhaal looks like he has a chromosome or two, missing.
Chalamet looks like a smug eight year old wearing his mom's wig.
I think Jack Nicholson plays a violent asshole well and often because he's an actual psychopath and has killed women
I don't think Matt and Ben are real friends, anymore at least. I think Damon is embarrassed of what Affleck has become and Ben knows it. I think that loss of respect and friendship is far harder on him than losing his wife and kids or the Batman role.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | October 3, 2019 1:20 AM |
I don't believe Tom Cruise is gay. I know that objectively, he looks closeted - Catholic upbringing, first wife said he wasn't interested in sex, third marriage was a blatant publicity stunt. Plus, $cientology seems to attract celebrity closet cases, such as Travolta and the Pinkett-Smiths. But he just doesn't ping for me. It's odd. He gives off an asexual vibe to me (although I'm aware true asexuality is extremely rare).

by Anonymous | reply 47 | October 3, 2019 1:54 AM |
The only movies I like Tom in is Mission Impossible movies. Anything else is terrible. I actually got up and walked out on The mummy. And a new Top Gun looks pathetic. He's trying so hard to stay a action hero. it's going to get to the point where it's just going to look sad.

Tom Cruise is a wonderful actor with many good roles, come on. And he IS charismatic. Like, I know he's supposed to be crazy, but then I watch something on TV where he's surprisingly genuine and funny, a great storyteller and even making tasteful gay innuendos (see below). So idk about Tom. He's really beautiful too, not a plastic like Brad

I thought Tom Cruise was sexy when the 'intensity' in his eyes came off as something other than the light of Zenu inspired insanity. Since that's taken over his eyes, and honestly, his existence, all I can see is a sad man with mental illness who is being used up by S☆ientology at its highest ranks.
IMO, Tom is forever trapped in that batshittery not because of his sexual preference, but because he's in need of therapy and medication that he'll never receive. Only enabling and brainwashing.
by Anonymous | reply 67 | October 3, 2019 1:09 PM |

Too true, R68.
by Anonymous | reply 69 | October 3, 2019 1:16 PM |
I feel sad for Tom. I don't really buy that he's a sociopath. Early in his career he came across as a pretty shy and sensitive guy. Some of that is still alive in him. I still can't quite figure out at what point it all went wrong. I actually really like him (and I think he's not that deep in the closet - he drops hints very very often. He only comes across as truly crazy when he pretends he fancies a woman, see Oprah's couch, etc.)
by Anonymous | reply 70 | October 3, 2019 1:45 PM |
R67 AND R68... YOU BOTH HAVE NAILED IT! cruise admitted himself that when he was young, schools wanted to medicate him and take him to see a therapist, but his mother said no, to which of course he agreed with and there you go.. inherent stubbornness even as a young boy from his father who was "off" as well...over the years though, cruise himself has changed the story of what he was diagnosed with or in his words "labeled" (labeled being a bad word to him), first he had dyslexia, then he didn't, then he had aDD and medication was prescribed, then he had a unknown learning disability, then he had dyslexia, but only scientology cured it, then he still has dyslexia but only scientology has given him the tools to deal with it! even now at his age, i don't think he can keep the story straight!... never mind, former friends, classmates and teachers say he was just a slow below average student, nothing more...
no wonder he aligned with cultie thinking when he first got in, that ALL psychiatry doesn't work, is wrong and is actually EVIL! ON PURPOSE! and of course the other huge evil in that cult, the pharm industry and their "mind altering" drugs..
he is the epitome of someone who DID NEED help and never got it, because it was "bad, embarrassing and shameful" to do so due to his parents, catholic religion and upbringing..
while he is of course a monumental narcissist, no one has to wonder that he has mental issues, simply for the fact that getting rich, famous, successful, super fast and super easy and getting (perhaps rightfully so for all the money he has made for that industry) royally ass kissed 24/7 by hollywood and the public for decades wasn't enough! he HAD TO HAVE IT AS WELL FROM HIS "RELIGION" a religion/church/faith (so called one of course!) as well!..... and for over 3 decades now he doesn't see anything wrong with it! a ass kissing is a ass kissing and great no matter WHO OR WHERE IT"S COMING FROM!...in fact, he thinks it's normal, okay, proper and even DESERVED that yes, a "religion" kisses his ass 24/7!
simply for this truth he is mentally ill! and/or morally corrupt and bankrupt! the question of: was he crazy before scientology or did scientology make him crazy has a simple answer in my opinion.. he WAS "ill" beforehand and scientology easily saw this and on purpose made him worse!..
by Anonymous | reply 71 | October 3, 2019 1:51 PM |
R71 agreed, only dyslexia is not a mental illness.
by Anonymous | reply 72 | October 3, 2019 1:54 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 73 | October 3, 2019 1:54 PM |
R72.... yes, of course, dyslexia is not a mental disease, i'm saying cruise has other issues that were never addressed... don't know if cruise THINKS dyslexia is a mental illness? or perhaps another take on all of this, that cruise BELIEVED he DID/DOES/KNOWS he has mental issues and sought scientology's help and NOT psychiatry or therapy because of how they "labeled" him as a youngster, and his bias was quickly reaffirmed by the cult and then the full blown brainwashing began..
by Anonymous | reply 74 | October 3, 2019 2:12 PM |
Agree about Rob Lowe R41, there's something creepy and off about him, especially now. I never got George Clooney either. Herbert Hoover, not J. Edgar. Herbert did a lot to keep non-coms from starving during WWI. Especially in Belgium and Northern France. (One of the old biddies on Downton Abby was involved with Belgium relief, remember?) apparently, the Germans didn’t want to take responsibility for feeding them.
When the US entered the war, he was put in charge of the US food supply.

I think Matthew McC is hotter now than when he was doing romcoms. Dallas Buyers Club thinned him and his face so much he has a different look now even though he got his hot body back. He is nude in Serenity (2019) and it's worth a watch just to see him topless in at least half the film and naked in some of it. I so would.

James Franco is almost good-looking, but not quite. Without the curly dark hair he'd be average.
Ryan Philippe is objectively 'perfect', but bland-looking.
Keanu Reeves is gorgeous, but devoid of sex appeal.
I never really 'got' Brad, but he's grown on me in recent years. One a sidenote, people always say he's dumb as a box of rocks, but that's not the impression I get from him. He often sounds stoned in interviews though.
Leonardo DiCaprio can still look good (like an older, fatter version of his Titanic self) with the right facial expression. But most of the time he looks like he just smelled his own fart now.
I agree that Kevin Spacey was surprisingly handsome.

I never found Bradley Cooper good looking. I think he looks like a rat.
Also don’t feel Bill Hader is nearly as good as some claim and not that funny. On top of that, he’s odd looking with an awful speaking voice.

The biggest catches in Hollywood aren’t the movie stars, who tend to be neurotic messes, but the smart, funny, stable guys with steady jobs, like Seth Meyers.

R88, all those men were mature-looking even when they were young, and they're all brunets. Do you prefer more boyish types and/or blonds? It's fine if you do - it's all a matter of taste - but someone who thinks Ryan Phillippe at age 20 was the epitome of good-looking is probably not going to like Sam Elliott or Sean Connery.
I think all the guys you mentioned are hot, or were, except Selleck. The thing is, I should like him. He's handsome, well-built without being overly muscled, and of course famously hairy-chested. He looks like a grown man. I like that. But there's something about TS that turned me off even in his Magnum PI days. The tenor voice didn't help, but that wasn't the only thing. He was too ... light, or something. He lacked gravitas or intensity or edge. Anyway, I could look at pictures of him and enjoy them, but in action he had all the sex appeal of overcooked pasta.

R104.. i hear you about selleck, the voice just doesn't fit him! that's why you turn down the sound when watching re-runs of magnum especially the 1st 2 seasons when he was at his best looking! lol! i still can spank the monkey looking at him in these early seasons...
however, i always thought it odd though then and now that he was promoted as such a sex symbol, the greatest male tv sex symbol in years and his character was always seen in nearly every episode the first seasons swimming, coming out of the ocean, and so on and yet they never put him in a bikini/speedo? i mean it was the 80's and men especially handsome built men DID wear them during that time, so what gives i wonder?...
the only time he wore one was a black number when a episode had his character in a triathlon and even then you only saw him like this for a few seconds...
come to think of it his character never had any really hot bedroom lovemaking scenes either! except for the sexy erotic shower scene make out he did with sharon stone before she became SHARON STONE.....
strange how they showed him off but only to a point?..

Probably due to a small dick, R105

Leo DeCaprio, pasty. Not handsome at all.

Ryan Reynolds = Peanut head. Bradley Cooper = Rat face.

Pitt, Cruise, Clooney, Reynolds, Cooper and DiCaprio all seem completely asexual to me. I can't imagine them fucking anyone, male or female.

I think Lucas Hedges will have the better career overall compared to Timothee Chalamet. I like them both, so please don’t come for me!

[Quote] I find Drake very handsome and very creepy. And my guess is he’s bad in bed because he’s never had to be good.
I wonder what Rihanna saw in him.

Henry Cavill's body seems all out of proportion. He said he used to be really fat when he was a kid. Do you suppose he had lypo at some point?

R102 Bill Hader! And John Mulaney too! I never get them. I didn't even laugh once during Mulaney's Netflix special.

Kenneth Branagh is an embarrassment as both actor and director. He’s a massive ham and his obsession with Laurence Olivier is just creepy.

In what ways? (Not that I disagree)
by Anonymous | reply 116 | October 4, 2019 1:25 PM |
Do people really take Kenneth Branaugh that seriously anymore? I remember when he first came on the scene and the media anointed him as Olivier's successor, but he's never come remotely close to that in recent decades. His remake of ORIENT EXPRESS was a colossal embarrassment. I rarely see him in other projects. Does he do much stage work anymore in England?

Seth McFarlane is incredibly handsome. Some find him smug, but I've never gotten that vibe.

r95 made me LOL. I cannot believe that we actually have a Herbert Hoover Troll. OK, we get it HHT, he was not as a bad guy as people think.

Ten who would never have found work if I ruled Hollywood:
1. Ben Affleck
2. George Clooney
3. Jimmy Smits
4. the one from Supernatural who played Sami Brady's twin brother on DOOL.
5. Leo DiCaprio after he turned 25
6. Johnny Depp
7. Robert Downey, Jr.
8. Rock Hudson, or anyone from his era except Gregory Peck
9. Denzel Washington (but it's mostly based on his "we don't kiss men" advice to Will Smith)
10. Marlon Brando

Robert Downey Jr. is so loaded with money now. Why in the hell does he wear such nasty ass clothes? He has to be paying top dollar for a stylist. It likes he's color blind. He looked so sexy in The Judge. He is also getting that" I'm King of the world " attitude as well.

r7, r91....that look was for a movie...I think Seven Years in Tibet, or something around that time
r113, r116....its from the extreme workouts to maintain the bulk. He really needs to dial it back. Hes much hotter when hes not bulked up.
