Tasteful Friends: Inside Nikolaj Coster-Waldau's House

It's...Scandinavian.

by Anonymousreply 42October 4, 2019 5:20 PM

I would rather be inside Nikolaj Coster-Whatever's hole.

by Anonymousreply 1October 1, 2019 10:10 PM

You mean Waldau's wazoo?

by Anonymousreply 2October 1, 2019 10:21 PM

The messy, wrinkled, headboard-less bed was very "secshy." But not AD-ready.

by Anonymousreply 3October 1, 2019 10:52 PM

The Scando look is so boring.

by Anonymousreply 4October 2, 2019 12:11 AM

What an odd way of speaking he has. He sounds like a Bowery Boy. That's not a Danish accent, is it?

by Anonymousreply 5October 2, 2019 12:26 AM

-Talks about the sexual energy that ferns give off. Meanwhile, behind him, there’s a bed that clearly only he’s slept in- The married, middle-aged straight guy energy coming from this video is overpowering. His accent has always been a bit of an issue, and has lost him work in the past. It used to bleed through A LOT in earlier seasons of Game of Thrones.

As much as I’m not too disappointed that the abiding mental image that this leaves me with is Of Mr Coster-Waldau cracking one off with his viagra fern in the corner, his house is painfully bland.

by Anonymousreply 6October 2, 2019 1:08 AM

Very interesting, R6. I didn't watch GoT so I didn't know about his accent. You'd think he would prioritize fixing that, then.

by Anonymousreply 7October 2, 2019 1:19 AM

Certainly not very homey. Way too austere.

by Anonymousreply 8October 2, 2019 1:55 AM

Looks like an igloo. Hard pass.

by Anonymousreply 9October 2, 2019 2:23 AM

I’d take it if Nikolaj came with the property. That messy bed would be excusable if I came home every day to find him on his hands and knees on it, naked and ready.

by Anonymousreply 10October 2, 2019 2:33 AM

This is the real estate I’m more interested in.

So sterile.

I never knew that about fern plants. Maybe it's a Danish thing.

by Anonymousreply 12October 2, 2019 7:48 PM

I'd like to be inside those pants (which he fills out quite nicely).

by Anonymousreply 13October 2, 2019 7:56 PM

I am getting ready to move back to the US after having been away for six years. Been researching houses and apartments on-line.

Does EVERY new or remodeled home in America these days have light gray walls?

by Anonymousreply 14October 2, 2019 7:59 PM

R10 Judging by the bizarre way he was walking around in that video, somebody else has already given him a good pounding.

by Anonymousreply 15October 2, 2019 8:38 PM

It’s tediously dull and depressing. It’s very severe and uncomfortable. It looks a hospital waiting room.

Now I understand why Scandinavia has a high suicide rate.

by Anonymousreply 16October 2, 2019 9:01 PM

FAT FRAUEN REJOICE!

by Anonymousreply 17October 2, 2019 9:08 PM

The house itself is fine but nothing special. His (or should I say his interior designer’s) choice of art and house plants is absolutely dreadful. Why did he feel the need to show this off?

by Anonymousreply 18October 2, 2019 9:38 PM

I do appreciate his acknowledgement that one art piece made no sense to him, but other than that, the house was bland, bland, and more bland. Did they just move in? It had no sign of life at all.

by Anonymousreply 19October 2, 2019 9:57 PM

So his main home is still in Denmark and that's his second home? Is his family living in LA now full-time? Or are they back in Denmark? I agree with the above poster. There is no sign of life there. It is like a doctor's office.

by Anonymousreply 20October 2, 2019 10:02 PM

So he must hate it and already wants to flip it. Don't they invite AD in when they are planning to sell off.

by Anonymousreply 21October 2, 2019 10:30 PM

I don't like bubbles and circles and Ikea. Nice for an office but not my house

by Anonymousreply 22October 2, 2019 10:40 PM

He looks to be quite well hung, so all is forgiven.

by Anonymousreply 23October 2, 2019 10:44 PM

Much of it seemed like cheap dorm room furniture, especially those tiny nightstands. I wish more of the yard and pool were shown, they really seemed beautiful and interesting.

by Anonymousreply 24October 2, 2019 11:52 PM

R20 He’s just signed on to do a Showtime series, which is going to film in LA, so I’m guessing this place is just for him. Was absolutely baffled when he said he’s been working out of Los Angeles for the past 15-20 years, because it’s not true.

It seems like he was railroaded by designer friends of his into the whole thing. What’s the fucking point? He may as well have bought ex hotel furniture.

by Anonymousreply 25October 3, 2019 12:02 AM

Showtime? I thought he was doing a pilot for Fox about agents in the 1980s.

by Anonymousreply 26October 3, 2019 2:47 AM

Who knew dried Chinese noodles would make for a good table decor?

by Anonymousreply 27October 3, 2019 3:01 AM

The fern plant gives off sexual energy? What a crock. It's just a potted plant, for god's sake.

by Anonymousreply 28October 3, 2019 12:29 PM

Nice garden. Such a small area, but it has different areas to sit in and enjoy being outside. I like that he didn't buy some huge mansion. It's a small house that seems to make good use of the available space. The décor is a bit spare, but not annoying.

by Anonymousreply 29October 3, 2019 6:00 PM

Hilarious he has a Brienne of Tarth doll.

by Anonymousreply 30October 4, 2019 12:48 PM

He’s cute, funny, and clearly somewhat educated. Even though I know he won’t go far in Hollywood, I still hold out hope for him.

by Anonymousreply 31October 4, 2019 12:51 PM

His accent and age work against him although I think he could definitely book supporting roles in major movies. and leads in TV shows. Isn't that he has done?

by Anonymousreply 32October 4, 2019 3:56 PM

R32 Nope. Leading roles in direct-to-dvd movies and he’s filming something for Fox. That’s all he’s really done outside of GOT.

by Anonymousreply 33October 4, 2019 4:06 PM

Some of the pieces of furniture are really nice on their own. The living room is pretty boring/average to be in AD.

by Anonymousreply 34October 4, 2019 4:42 PM

[R33] That's not really true. He starred opposite Jessica Chastain in a horror film a while back that did very well. He has starred in this dumb comedy about a cheating husband, his wife and two girlfriends (Cameron Diaz was in this) also awhile back. I think that might have done well, too--even though it seemed incredibly stupid. He also did supporting roles in major movies starring people along the likes of Tom Cruise, etc. His recent string of movies I agree with you have been awful, particularly that dreck he did for Brian DiPalma and co-starring Melisandre. That was really, really bad.

The thing is he got a lot of his earlier better projects from his then LA-based manager who helped him get those roles and she also helped him get GoT. For some reason, he fired her a few years ago (and was ordered by a court to pay her $2 million!!). So he may not have the best business sense, that's for sure.

by Anonymousreply 35October 4, 2019 4:51 PM

I wonder what the diminutive of his wife's name--Nukuka is.

Nuki?

Kaka?

(She's Greenlandic, you know that island Twittler briefly wanted to buy a few months back.)

by Anonymousreply 36October 4, 2019 4:58 PM

Didn't Scandinavia come to Hollywood in the 50s?

by Anonymousreply 37October 4, 2019 5:00 PM

Does he actually have work since GoT went off the air? He's not getting any younger. Are we sure he won't need to sell it soon?

by Anonymousreply 38October 4, 2019 5:03 PM

He's got that Fox TV pilot about agents in the 1980s. I have no idea whether he's already filmed it or is about to film it. Scott Rudin is a producer.

by Anonymousreply 39October 4, 2019 5:05 PM

[quote] Are we sure he won't need to sell it soon?

Positive.

Between residuals on all those years of GoT and what he can get for doing Cons alone, he will never need to worry about money.

by Anonymousreply 40October 4, 2019 5:10 PM

He does A LOT of Cons. Well, he gets paid a fortune doing them. I guess he needs to pay off that ex-manager.

by Anonymousreply 41October 4, 2019 5:17 PM

It's obviously a blank slate so he can personalize it with his family treasures. You bitches complaining need to read the article.

I like the stark, Scandanavian style of it They always emphasize natural pattern and materials.
