MSNBC Part 13

October..... SURPRISE!

by Anonymousreply 432November 30, 2019 7:21 AM

Ahhh, found it!

Doris is a debauched historian because of her plagiarism.

She must have stolen the wig.

by Anonymousreply 1October 1, 2019 6:23 AM

anyone gonna buy Rachel's new book? The timing of it with what's happening in the news is PERFECT

by Anonymousreply 2October 1, 2019 9:48 AM

Doris and her new wig are on Morning Joe right now!

by Anonymousreply 3October 1, 2019 11:04 AM

I love Doris' new wig. It looks cute on her.

Makes her look youthful.

by Anonymousreply 4October 1, 2019 11:06 AM

R4 It’s a no for me, dawg. That thing is obvious and looks ridiculous and cheap.

Speaking of wigs though, April Ryan was rocking a new sassy shiny one on CNN yesterday.

by Anonymousreply 5October 1, 2019 2:56 PM

I don't even know who Doris is.

by Anonymousreply 6October 1, 2019 4:02 PM

Go sit at the kid's table r6.

by Anonymousreply 7October 1, 2019 6:14 PM

r6 Doris Kearns Goodwin, author and historian. Some don't like her.

by Anonymousreply 8October 1, 2019 6:16 PM

by Anonymousreply 9October 1, 2019 6:16 PM

Why does MSNBC online streaming suck so badly? It uses Flash, which takes extra effort to allow, doesn't work on Firefox and now Chrome, and if you can get it to work, it's all commercials and then craps out within 15-20 minutes.

I mean, really. It's 2019 - fix it!

by Anonymousreply 10October 1, 2019 8:50 PM

As far as historians go, I really like Jon Meacham.

by Anonymousreply 11October 1, 2019 10:11 PM

R11 he's strangely hot. He's 50 years old but looks a lot older.

by Anonymousreply 12October 1, 2019 10:16 PM

Michael Moore is kind of an idiot but he's an injection of rage and frustration and passion that's needed in cable news.

by Anonymousreply 13October 1, 2019 10:33 PM

uh anyone watching Chris Matthews now?

It was 7:34 WTF DID MSNBC JUST AIR A TRUMP CAMPAIGN AD?

how fucking inconsistent is that? Does the network need the money that badly?

by Anonymousreply 14October 1, 2019 11:37 PM

Rachel on Colbert right now. She’s still on crutches four months later??? Wtf

by Anonymousreply 15October 2, 2019 3:55 AM

R11 Meacham is a daddy. Hot and insanely smart. Yum

by Anonymousreply 16October 2, 2019 3:56 AM

Jon Meacham should color his hair again.

He'd look a lot younger.

by Anonymousreply 17October 2, 2019 4:17 AM

What an odd pairing here.

Tim McGraw and Jon Meacham.

by Anonymousreply 18October 2, 2019 4:18 AM

I like the Chris Hayes, Rachel Maddow, Lawrence O'Donnell, and Brian Williams line up and am looking forward to watching H. Clinton on Maddow tomorrow.

One of the guests tonight said Moscow Mitch, when he gets the impeachment papers from Congress, my speed up the process and minimize and dismiss them. I will stroke out if that happens. It's insane that people are still covering for him. Disgusting.

by Anonymousreply 19October 2, 2019 4:26 AM

Brian Williams is a war liar. A complete disgrace. NBC had to hide him at 11pm. I’ve never heard of anyone including him in the MSNBC star line up.

by Anonymousreply 20October 2, 2019 5:55 AM

Meacham looks better with the gray hair IMO.

by Anonymousreply 21October 2, 2019 11:56 AM

My first problem with Michael Moore is that he's SO ugly!

by Anonymousreply 22October 2, 2019 12:38 PM

I like Meacham also. I was surprised to read he is 50 years old. I thought he was in his early 60s

by Anonymousreply 23October 2, 2019 1:39 PM

Meacham is much better looking in person, I saw him in passing in Miami airport once. Started to imagine what the tan lines looked like. Thought better of following him to the men's room though.

by Anonymousreply 24October 2, 2019 1:45 PM

Nicole will be hosting TRMS tonight

by Anonymousreply 25October 3, 2019 9:01 PM

Chris Matthews has become unlistenable.

by Anonymousreply 26October 3, 2019 11:52 PM

What the fuck is with these Trump campaign commercials in MSNBC??

by Anonymousreply 27October 3, 2019 11:57 PM

As deplorable as Chris Matthews is, I'll take him over that barf face closeted Republican half-assed Chuck Todd anyday. I want both him an Chris gone by 2020. We don't need them for the 2020 campaign season.

by Anonymousreply 28October 4, 2019 12:47 AM

Saw Nicolle in for Rachel but was at the gym. How's she doing??? I wanted to tune in.

by Anonymousreply 29October 4, 2019 1:23 AM

Well, I hate her hair but she's doing OK otherwise. Rachel Maddow's short hair is much better for a professional woman who wants to be taken seriously.

by Anonymousreply 30October 4, 2019 1:41 AM

I like Nicolle. She’s a bit out of her element in Rachel’s format, but I’d rather she sub for Rachel than Joy Reed.

If Joy is in for Rachel I am turning the channel.

by Anonymousreply 31October 4, 2019 1:47 AM

Rofl R31. Same here.

I can't stand homophobic Joy Reid.

I refuse to watch her.

by Anonymousreply 32October 4, 2019 1:59 AM

David Frum unshaven on Lawrence O’D’s show.

by Anonymousreply 33October 4, 2019 3:02 AM

I have a slight crush on Jonathan Lemire.

He's often on Morning Joe, and he always looks cute.

There is no Rachel format without Rachel. Nicole had a normal style show.

by Anonymousreply 36October 4, 2019 5:03 AM

I meant one on one type interviews as opposed to the regular roundtable she presides over.

by Anonymousreply 37October 4, 2019 10:29 AM

I love Nicolle's format. It's fun and you cant tell everyone gets along. She's a great host.

by Anonymousreply 38October 4, 2019 12:18 PM

And Nicolle can attract a decent panel. Some of these MSNBC shows are turning into a clown car of punditry.

by Anonymousreply 39October 4, 2019 5:46 PM

Some of Joe these MSNBC Mika shows are turning Scarborough into a clown car Brazinski of punditry.

by Anonymousreply 40October 4, 2019 6:15 PM

Rachel Maddow is heading to The CW's Batwoman.

The MSNBC host — currently enjoying a big ratings bump amid talk of a presidential impeachment — will have a key role in the Ruby Rose-led drama.

R36, I think Ali Velshi kind of gets it.

When he's in for Rachel he uses different intonation than his early afternoon spots. I've seen him "break character" on accident while subbing for her. Rachel gives you Intimacy + Intelligence which he can emulate well.

R38, R39 are right about Nicolle's format but it's not something I want to see in lieu of Rachel at 9pm weeknights.

by Anonymousreply 42October 4, 2019 11:31 PM

Chuck Todd is awful and needs to be replaced STAT.

by Anonymousreply 43October 4, 2019 11:51 PM

I have loved Nicole ever since she was quoted describing taking the Palins shopping in Saks (or Neiman Marcus?) for campaign clothing as "watching hillbillies running amok".

by Anonymousreply 44October 4, 2019 11:54 PM

I can’t forgive Nicole for working to elevate Palin. I watch her show but even former Republicans can never be trusted.

by Anonymousreply 45October 5, 2019 1:49 AM

R45 Yeah plus she worked in the WH under George W. Bush. What short memories you Nicolle loving bitches have. Just because she hates Trump does not make her admirable now.

by Anonymousreply 46October 5, 2019 2:05 AM

Nicole Wallace is an Orange County Republican. Same as Stephen Miller. This makes her almost worse than your average right winger, because growing up in California, they should know better.

Plus she's a cheater.

She recently dumped her husband of 14 years, for Michael S. Schmidt (on the right of the photo), who is nine years younger than Nicole.

Personally, I think that her ex-husband Mark Wallace, is way better looking.

Rachel's new book is really timely and makes so much sense

really shows why we should try to move AWAY from oil/gas and towards a more green way of living.

Imagine the Russians and Saudis if people stop using gas

by Anonymousreply 53October 5, 2019 5:37 AM

R42, I don't think I've ever seen Nicolle do the roundtable/panel thing when subbing for Rachel. She does seem a little lonely, though, working within Rachel's format.

R47, Stephen Miller is not an Orange County Republican -- he was born and raised in very liberal Santa Monica, California (I suppose it's possible he was dropped on his head as a child). Also, Nicolle did not recently dump her husband. In fact, I remember reading somewhere, likely here, that she and her husband had been separated for at least a year before filing for divorce.

by Anonymousreply 54October 5, 2019 6:07 AM

r53, she also give the road map for crippling and taking down Putin the same way Reagan did the old Soviet Union.

by Anonymousreply 55October 5, 2019 8:50 AM

After watching Game Change I don’t blame Nicolle for the Palins, I blame Steve Schmidt. From what I can tell it looks like Nicolle hated Sarah Palin as much as anyone else, maybe more.

by Anonymousreply 56October 5, 2019 9:01 AM

Nicolle is from the Bay Area. Her conservatism is probably a reaction to the far left liberalism of that region. However I really think she has seen the light. She can still be a small government person and be relatively liberal. She's 47 and looks amazing. She could do way better than that nerd Michael Schmidt.

by Anonymousreply 57October 5, 2019 1:27 PM

I’d like me some Michael Schmidt.

by Anonymousreply 58October 5, 2019 4:53 PM

R55 what's her idea to take him down?

by Anonymousreply 59October 5, 2019 5:21 PM

Chris Hayes “live audience” show is completely unwatchable.

by Anonymousreply 60October 6, 2019 1:28 AM

I find Chris Hayes himself to be completely unwatchable and always switch to my local news during his show.

by Anonymousreply 61October 6, 2019 3:50 AM

Brian Williams and guests eviscerated Biden and his campaign last night. Played a clip of Biden responding to Trump’s attacks and Brian goes “So after 5 days of attacks he comes up with THIS?” And they shared a laugh about Biden standing in front of a tiny backdrop (it was pretty sad) and basically laughed at him for looking pathetic.

I think Joe is done.

by Anonymousreply 62October 6, 2019 4:13 AM

R62, who else? Warren? She's my choice but can she beat Trump? Because that's all that matters.

by Anonymousreply 63October 6, 2019 4:28 AM

Warren is a sure fire loser.

by Anonymousreply 64October 6, 2019 4:48 AM

I'll vote for whoever the Democratic nominee is but I worry with Warren because A) sexism B) the Native American thing C) socialism buzz word D) new war on facebook E( critics dismiss her as a nagging schoolmarm

are any of those legitimate reasons to either vote for Trump over her, go third party or stay at home? No but this is America, land of the stupid and lazy

by Anonymousreply 65October 6, 2019 5:02 AM

Even though Trump is looking like an idiot and a criminal in this impeachment inquiry, he may actually be accomplishing exactly what he set ought to do: remove Biden from consideration as the Democratic nominee. He thinks Warren would be much easier to beat, and he may be willing to risk impeachment in the House (knowing that the Senate won't vote to convict) in order to make sure Biden's not his Democratic opponent.

by Anonymousreply 66October 6, 2019 7:57 AM

I agree with that R66. I do think he underestimates Warren..I think she could win but she may have a negative down ticket effect. Like losing the Senate..again.

by Anonymousreply 67October 6, 2019 2:33 PM

Well, that Tim Ran guy was on MSNBC yesterday claiming he was the only one who could beat Trump.

So yeah. I'm voting for Warren. Of course she can beat Trump.

Hillary lost in PA and MI because she ran a terrible campaign, not because a woman "can't" win.

by Anonymousreply 68October 6, 2019 2:38 PM

I'm waiting for all of the posters who bitch and moan about Chuck Todd all of the time to come on here and eat crow based on his handling of the Senator Ron Johnson fiasco on MTP this morning.

by Anonymousreply 69October 6, 2019 7:41 PM

"Betsy Woodruff Swann"

When did they get married? I hope that they can last longer than the marriage of Jeremy Bash and Dana Bash.

by Anonymousreply 70October 6, 2019 7:45 PM

Chuck Todd sucks.

by Anonymousreply 71October 6, 2019 7:46 PM

Funny you mentioned that R69, because I just read an article the confrontation:

[quote] Chuck Todd rips GOP senator for responding to Trump-Ukraine question with 'Fox News conspiracy propaganda stuff'

Chuck Todd slammed Republican Sen. Ron Johnson for bringing up “Fox News conspiracy propaganda stuff” on “Meet the Press” on Sunday when Johnson failed to directly answer a question about President Trump’s dealings with Ukraine.

Todd asked Johnson, R-Wis., why he said he winced “at the suggestion” that Trump withheld Ukraine military aid as leverage for an investigation into foreign interference during the 2016 presidential election. When Johnson began to change the topic to claim that the president was “set up” in part by FBI agents, former political opponent Hillary Clinton and Ukrainians, a conspiracy theory circulated by Fox News and conservative media, the Sunday show host quickly interrupted.

“I have no idea why a Fox news conspiracy, propaganda stuff, is popping up on here,” Todd said speaking over Johnson. “I have no idea why we’re going here.”

“Because this is underlining exactly what President Trump is upset and why his supporters are upset at the news media,” Johnson said.

“This is not about the media,” rebutted Todd, who then shouted to get the senator to respond to his original question.

“Senator Johnson, please!” Todd said, holding up his hand. “Can we please answer the question I asked you instead of trying to make Donald Trump feel better here that you’re not criticizing him.”

“I’m just trying to ask you a simple question about what made you wince,” Todd continued, speaking over Johnson. “You clearly were upset that somehow there was an implication that military aid was being frozen because the president wanted an investigation. Why did you wince?”

“Because I didn’t want those connected, and I was supporting the aid,” Johnson finally answered. “But here’s the salient point about why I came forward: When I asked the president about that he completely denied it. He adamantly denied it. He vehemently, angrily denied it. He said, ‘I would never do that.’”

“That is the piece of the puzzle I’m here to report today,” Johnson continued, “that unlike the narrative of the press that President Trump wants to dig up dirt on his 2020 opponent, what he wants is he wants an accounting of what happened in 2016, who set him up, did things spring from Ukraine?”

Johnson, who chairs the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, went on to quote an article published by Politico in 2017, reporting that “Donald Trump wasn’t the only presidential candidate whose campaign was boosted by officials of a former Soviet bloc country” and that Ukraine government officials tried to help Hillary Clinton and the Democratic National Committee by exposing ties between Russia and Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign.

“There is potential interference in the 2016 campaign, that’s what Trump wants to get to the bottom of but the press doesn’t want to,” said Johnson. “The people who wrote this article are being pilloried. I’m being called a conspiracy theorist. [Fox News contributor] John Solomon is being called a conspiracy theorist because the press is horribly biased. And Trump and his supporters completely understand that.”

“Look, I understand that the way to avoid answering a question is to attack us in the press,” Todd said.

Johnson insisted there be an investigation into the unfounded theory that Ukraine, not Russia, interfered in the previous presidential election on behalf of Clinton, including “trying to keep Vice President Biden out of the primary for the Democratic campaign.”

“So, senator, do you not believe the Russians interfered in the presidential elections to benefit Donald Trump?” asked Todd.

“They absolutely did,” Johnson answered. “And I don’t know to what extent the Ukrainians did. I don’t know to what extent the DNC and the Hillary Clinton campaign were involved in kind of juicing up the Ukrainian involvement as well. There are a lot of unanswered questions.”

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 72October 6, 2019 7:52 PM

When Todd asked the senator if he trusts the FBI and CIA, Johnson replied, “No, no I don’t. Absolutely not.”

Johnson said he didn't trust FBI and CIA officials from the Obama administration and went on to accuse Todd of setting up a “totally biased” interview.

“We don’t have enough time to go through all of the things I can talk about,” he said, to which Todd agreed, blaming the lack of time on the conspiracy theories.

“Senator, I don't know why you just came out here to personally attack the press and avoid answering questions about what’s happened here,” Todd said. “It's pretty clear we’re only dealing with the facts that we have, not the facts that you wish them to be.”

“That’s what I want to deal with and I can’t get the answers,” Johnson said. “Something pretty fishy happened during the 2016 campaign and the transition, the early part of the Trump presidency and we still don’t know.”

‘We do know the answers,” Todd interrupted. “You’re making a choice not to believe the investigations that have taken place, multiple.”

“I want to look at the entire truth,” Johnson insisted after Todd accused him of seeking truths that are “politically comfortable. ... I want the complete truth,” he said.

“So do we.” Todd replied. “I’m sorry that you chose to come on this way, senator,” he added, cutting Johnson off as the segment closed.

by Anonymousreply 73October 6, 2019 7:53 PM

Johnson doing some major CYA...playing to an audience of one..he is a fucking moron too. How the fuck do these people win elections?

by Anonymousreply 74October 6, 2019 8:27 PM

Chuck Todd did very well today in calling out that coward Johnson

Richard Lui is so handsome

by Anonymousreply 75October 6, 2019 9:34 PM

[quote] How the fuck do these people win elections?

R74, whenever someone says that "the American people [or "the voters"] are not stupid", I snort. Whether the speaker is just pandering or truly believes that, the speaker is plain wrong. Some of us are not stupid, but obviously enough are to make the difference in far too many elections.

by Anonymousreply 76October 6, 2019 10:18 PM

Speaking of Jonathan Swann, he has disappeared from the cable news shows.

by Anonymousreply 77October 6, 2019 10:29 PM

R77 he’s probably banned because he’s a white supremacist who’s friends with all the Breitbart guys

by Anonymousreply 78October 7, 2019 4:48 PM

Katie Tur is subbing on MTP Daily for Chuck Todd today.

As usual, she's rocking the 1970's outfit, and she looks horrible!

Terribly dated clothes, blah colors, and awful hair styling.

by Anonymousreply 79October 7, 2019 9:26 PM

What about Eugene the dark skinned gay black dude? Saw him at DC Pride shirtless. He's got a rockin body, the boy is dark as night.

by Anonymousreply 80October 7, 2019 9:30 PM

Chris Hayes is a muscle stud on a stick! Who cares what he is blabbing about...he is so hot and his blazers/suit coats are barely covering his huge strong chest when he buttons them.

by Anonymousreply 81October 7, 2019 9:50 PM

R79 Why are her bangs are always hanging over her eyes? She looks ridiculous. I never could stand her but now she’s even more insufferable.

The Ukrainian prosecutor when asked about this said Biden didn’t break any UKRAINIAN laws. He then repeated UKRAINIAN laws in case anyone missed it the first time. I agree it stinks. It’s at least corrupt even if it didn’t break any UKRAINIAN laws.

This is the same country where Manafort was up to his neck in corruption and part of why he’s sitting in a prison cell right now. You can’t tell me that slimy shit Hunter Biden is squeaky clean in this or that Biden Sr. knew NOTHING about any of his son’s shady dealings.

by Anonymousreply 94October 8, 2019 10:24 PM

^ What does this rant have to do with MSNBC?

by Anonymousreply 95October 8, 2019 10:27 PM

Nicolle's show sucked today, and I say this as someone who never misses it.

Jonathan Swan is an irritating blowhard who went full "unskewed polls" for several minutes, arguing the latest WaPo/GMU poll can't be true because he doesn't think it is (his exact words were "give me a break"). Clearly Maggie Haberman would have been a better match for him than Betsy, since they would have produced a prodigious line of Trump stenographers.

Then there was a segment about Ellen saying we all need to get along with people who disagree with us, which for her includes the man who used hatred of gay people to win four years in the White House in which he led the country into the Great Recession, placed two ultraconservatives on the Supreme Court, plunged the nation further into the morass of Iraq, engaged the American military and intelligence apparatus in torture, spied clandestinely on the communications of American citizens, oh, and continued to deny the fundamental equality and dignity of gay people until the day it left office. Incidentally (or not), all of this, including the latter, didn't have as much of an effect on multimillionaire white celebrities living in Southern California. Not that hard to forgive for her.

by Anonymousreply 96October 9, 2019 2:27 AM

I saw that too R96. Swan is a little man with a Napolean complex...and he just loves his access. However, nobody made the point that R's might be for impeachment because they believe it will give the Orange Anus another 4 years.

by Anonymousreply 97October 9, 2019 12:11 PM

Sorry for the OT post here but the Ellen/GWB story is such bullshit. As Ellen explained, she was invited by a rich woman to watch the football game in the rich person's seats at the stadium and GWB happened to be among of that woman's other guests at the game. Ellen is calling him her "friend" to be polite but all she did was sit next to him and share a few laughs at a sporting event for a few hours--they aren't exactly bosom buddies or confidants.

This isn't some grand "bridging of the divide between Left and Right"--it's just two strangers enjoying each other's company for a few hours, probably while drunk. If they get engaged to be married, that will be a newsworthy story. Otherwise, it's a silly, meaningless waste of time for MSNBC to put this "story" on its network.

by Anonymousreply 98October 9, 2019 1:10 PM

Lawrence O'Brien says that one of his guests tonight will be Evelyn Farkas (former Dep. Ass't Sec. of Defense for Russia/Ukraine/Eurasia). Any relation to DL fave Somers Farkas? Evelyn's maiden name is "Farkas", whereas it's the surname of Somers' husband -- so I guess the question really is whether Eveyln is any relation to Somers' husband?

by Anonymousreply 99October 10, 2019 2:21 AM

Chuck Todd has been visibly pissed since the Johnson debacle. Did someone suggest he take Wednesday off in order to calm down?

by Anonymousreply 100October 10, 2019 7:37 AM

Speaking of Stephanie Ruhle, (must we?) WTF was that pink lace frock she wore on Wednesday? I don't know how Ali Belshi keeps himself from strangling her on-air; the woman is insufferable. She, Joy Reid, Halley Jackson, Steve Kornacki and Kendis Gibson drain my energy.

by Anonymousreply 101October 10, 2019 7:53 AM

Hallie Jackson is wearing black nail polish.

So unprofessional!

by Anonymousreply 102October 10, 2019 2:33 PM

I think that my favorite MSNBC reporter is Kristen Welker.

She's so professional.

No grandstanding, no shouting, no pretense. Just straight, fact based reporting.

She's like the female version of Richard Engel.

It's so hard to find professional journalists like them, anymore.

Rudy needs media attention like a vampire needs blood. Of course reporters have his cell. He’s a major source on and off the record.

She paid a lot for those tits. She's gonna show them off.

by Anonymousreply 110October 10, 2019 9:32 PM

I thought Keith Olbermann paid for those tits.

And didn't Joe pay for Mika's implants?

by Anonymousreply 111October 10, 2019 9:58 PM

Lmao, I've grown to love Stephanie Ruhle! Her "chain-smoker voice" (LOL!) has grown on me as well as her animations. I think on the last thread we did on her someone was defending her.

My take: I hate the leaning in the chair but she's giving you that Rachel Ray-in the kitchen- discussing politics feel. Except she's more knowledgeable than your home girl.

Also, I believe a lot of these hosts bring their own sources on these shows as part of their CV, so I like that she can bring in some business guise to discuss economic policy every now and then.

by Anonymousreply 112October 11, 2019 12:12 AM

Stephanie is like a smarter, confident Mika

by Anonymousreply 113October 11, 2019 12:44 AM

And less filled with pompous jizz, R113.

by Anonymousreply 114October 11, 2019 12:55 AM

Mika doesn't really serve any purpose on the network.

by Anonymousreply 115October 11, 2019 12:58 AM

All Mika does is read intros off the teleprompter read the wind down before the commercial break.

Plus she sighs a lot when Joe & the boys talk about baseball.

by Anonymousreply 116October 11, 2019 1:50 AM

^^Someone has to suck the boss's cock!

by Anonymousreply 117October 11, 2019 1:51 AM

Mika would have been canned a while ago if she hadn't been sucking the host's cock. She "knows her worth".

by Anonymousreply 118October 11, 2019 2:05 AM

This am Ruhle was tripping all over the name of the former Ambassador to Ukraine Yovanovic. Gareth Haake was reporting to her from the Hill and kept enunciating and repeating the name clearly so she can pick it up. Back to Ruhle, again she mangles the name. Gareth tried!

by Anonymousreply 119October 11, 2019 2:39 PM

Andrea Mitchell needs to be humanely put down. She is embarrassing herself and her legacy. She stumbles as much as a drunk heading down a steep hill.

by Anonymousreply 120October 11, 2019 4:56 PM

I hate to say it, but it's true. She really struggles and it's uncomfortable to watch.

Oh. Joy Reid. That braid nest. Gurl, just no.

by Anonymousreply 130October 13, 2019 2:35 PM

I hope that some gay man is doing Joy's hair every weekend.

Revenge is a dish best served cold.

by Anonymousreply 131October 13, 2019 2:43 PM

Andrew Desiderio on now looking cute as hell.

by Anonymousreply 132October 13, 2019 6:36 PM

Ari Melber must have a great agent. Notice how he's always the one to get those Sunday specials whether it was about the Mueller report or the now impeachment.

I like the legal focus of his show but he's such a try-hard and celeb ass kisser.

by Anonymousreply 133October 13, 2019 7:16 PM

[quote] Notice how he's always the one to get those Sunday specials whether it was about the Mueller report or the now impeachment.

I think it's because he's the only attorney who currently hosts an MSNBC show.

Joe Scarborough is also an attorney, but I don't think he's a very good one.

by Anonymousreply 134October 13, 2019 7:39 PM

R134 OK fair but he also frequently guest hosts Lawrence O'Donnell's show on Fridays .

by Anonymousreply 135October 13, 2019 7:42 PM

[quote] he also frequently guest hosts Lawrence O'Donnell's show on Fridays .

It probably also depends upon who in the hell WANTS to sub for another host.

Most of these hosts work hard all week and probably just want to go home and do other things, so they pass on subbing for another host.

Ari looks like a workaholic. So he probably doesn't mind subbing.

The others who are also always subbing for others are Steve Kornacki and Joy Reid. They're usually the go-to people to substitute.

Ayman Moyelhedin is another one, but now that he has that early morning weekday show, he probably can't stay up too late.

Yes, I watch these guys way too damned much.

by Anonymousreply 136October 13, 2019 7:49 PM

Ayman Moyelhedin really pings to me. Yes I know he’s married, but still.

Anyone else agree?

by Anonymousreply 137October 13, 2019 8:16 PM

Mmmmm...Matt Bradley time. He's in Syria.

by Anonymousreply 138October 13, 2019 8:18 PM

Correction...Matt is in Iraq, not Syria. They should only send non-hot guys to the trouble spots. Did they learn nothing from David Bloom??

by Anonymousreply 139October 13, 2019 8:20 PM

They should send Republican Steve Kornacki to Syria.

by Anonymousreply 140October 13, 2019 8:23 PM

[quote] The others who are also always subbing for others are Steve Kornacki and Joy Reid. They're usually the go-to people to substitute.

And Ali Velshi. Ali is often subbing for others while also doing his regular slots as a solo anchor and a co-anchor with Stephanie Ruhle.

by Anonymousreply 141October 13, 2019 8:50 PM

Agree 100% R137.

I was shocked to find out that he was married, because I just assumed he was gay.

Then again, I thought Richard Engel was gay also. lol

by Anonymousreply 142October 13, 2019 9:09 PM

Andrew Desiderio is a treat for gay eyes. love watching him.... and he's a smart man to boot.

by Anonymousreply 143October 13, 2019 10:38 PM

Lol. That bird’s nest sitting sideways on her head with the polyester-looking braids down to her waist. She’s killing me.

by Anonymousreply 145October 14, 2019 4:11 AM

That wasn't Joy Reid, it was her half sister Sharmeka who had a groupon at her hair salon.

by Anonymousreply 146October 14, 2019 6:13 AM

don't forget Michael Schmidt is the one who first reported on Hillary's use of a private email server. He learned about it during the Benghazi hearings. The email server of course is what gave repubs the chance to cast doubt on her honesty in an overblown scandal

by Anonymousreply 147October 14, 2019 8:07 PM

Actually, having her attorneys destroy the emails they deemed personal is what gave the GOP their most valuable ammunition. Hence the famous “missing emails.” Just plain stupid.

by Anonymousreply 148October 14, 2019 8:12 PM

[quote]They should send Republican Steve Kornacki to Syria.

*snort* I can just see his remote standup from Syria: his white board and his rolled-up sleeves, arms wildly flailing, dodging missiles.

by Anonymousreply 149October 14, 2019 8:50 PM

I wanna see Chris Hayes naked. He is so sexy.

by Anonymousreply 150October 14, 2019 10:18 PM

Kornaki in for Matthews.

by Anonymousreply 151October 14, 2019 11:02 PM

Chris Matthews is recuperating from prostate cancer surgery

by Anonymousreply 152October 15, 2019 12:01 AM

His cancer would be a good excuse for Chris Matthews to retire.

by Anonymousreply 153October 15, 2019 12:17 AM

Chris Hayes’ reporting on the Ronan Farrow NBC News story was interesting. He presented both sides and then said “all journalists should do what Ronan does and investigative reporting should never be thwarted.”

Hm. He didn’t indict NBC News management but he didn’t let them off the hook either.

by Anonymousreply 154October 15, 2019 1:06 AM

isn't MSNBC part of NBC news?

by Anonymousreply 155October 15, 2019 1:12 AM

check the names,,,,^

by Anonymousreply 156October 15, 2019 4:31 PM

MSNBC is the “We’re gonna get you, TRUMP” network. They should just change their name to that. At least Fox has some anchors who are critical of Trump some of the time (which he bitches about on Twitter.)

by Anonymousreply 157October 15, 2019 8:15 PM

You're a delusional CUNT, R157.

Pretending that Faux News wasn't ANTI-OBAMA 100% of the time.

Fucking hypocritical pile of dog shit, you are.

by Anonymousreply 158October 15, 2019 8:17 PM

Garrett Haake is effin' hot.

That smile, dimples, and blue eyes . I would swallow his kids. He don't even have to unzip all the way, just put it thru the fly.

by Anonymousreply 160October 15, 2019 9:15 PM

Klassy, R159.

by Anonymousreply 161October 15, 2019 9:15 PM

I like Richard Engel's reporting from Northern Syria but I'm nervous for him being there.

by Anonymousreply 162October 15, 2019 9:17 PM

WEHT faux Democrat Harold Ford, Jr? He used to be a fixture on Morning Joe, but I haven't seen him on TV in a long time.

He probably got tired of pretending to be a Democrat for the sake of conversation. Now Mika gets to play that role.

by Anonymousreply 163October 15, 2019 9:24 PM

Harold Ford Jr. is the worst. He is NOT a fan of the gays.

by Anonymousreply 164October 15, 2019 9:29 PM

[quote] Harold Ford Jr. is the worst. He is NOT a fan of the gays.

Odd, considering that he IS gay.

by Anonymousreply 165October 15, 2019 9:34 PM

Kornacki just had Rand Paul on and he was comparing the Mueller investigation to Trumps call with Zelensky. No push back that it was to investigate Russian interference into our elections and our democracy. He did push him on whether it was appropriate but Paul just obfuscated.

by Anonymousreply 166October 15, 2019 11:52 PM

PREDICTION: The Democrats are going to release the transcripts of all of the Congressional witnesses, and THEN hold an impeachment vote.

We will then see the next layer of witnesses peel off and give testimony.

and VOILA! Articles of Impeachment.

by Anonymousreply 167October 16, 2019 12:05 AM

Wasn't there some "me too" issue with Harold Ford Jr. or am I mis-remembering?

by Anonymousreply 168October 16, 2019 12:09 AM

Oh, no Sharmeka is in for Chris.

by Anonymousreply 169October 16, 2019 12:18 AM

Joy Reed subbing tonight on All in, finally wearing a smart outfit. Also tamed that bird's nest on her head.

by Anonymousreply 175October 16, 2019 3:27 AM

Ha ha Chris Hayes to Kamala: “At the debate you made a big deal about Twitter blocking Trump. Why does that matter?” LOL

by Anonymousreply 176October 16, 2019 3:46 AM

What is Eugene Robinson even talking about. The "troops" haven't "come home," just moved to another part of the region to allow the genocide to take place. He's stretching too far to make a point.

by Anonymousreply 178October 16, 2019 7:10 AM

Chris Hayes is a muscular sexy stud. I'd love to see him shirtless and flexing those big buff arms of his.

by Anonymousreply 179October 16, 2019 2:52 PM

One thing I've noticed about Chris Hayes since he started doing his live Friday night shows, is that he has a big butt, like a hockey player. I can't tell if it's just fat, or not. It looks like two soccer balls stuffed in his pants.

by Anonymousreply 180October 16, 2019 7:50 PM

by Anonymousreply 187October 16, 2019 9:04 PM

Gay Republican Tim Miller on Nicolle’s show today, still with a jet black, jeri curl, mop on his head. What the fuck is Miss Thing’s deal? He used to have normal person hair.

by Anonymousreply 188October 16, 2019 9:19 PM

Rachel's book is #1 for a second week on NY Times list

by Anonymousreply 192October 16, 2019 10:47 PM

It’s being reported that the Giuliani investigation involves counterintelligence. Is this one of the investigations that Mueller spun off?

by Anonymousreply 193October 16, 2019 10:52 PM

^ meant to post this in the impeachment thread. Shouldn’t try to post while eating dinner and watching Ari Melber.

by Anonymousreply 194October 16, 2019 10:59 PM

Tim Miller is always dressed inappropriately for daytime TV. This morning he was part of a panel with other men who were dressed in suits and ties. Tim was wearing some trendy shirt unbuttoned down to his nipples. He looked like he came straight from his trick's apartment after a night out at the gay bars. You could almost see the dried cum on his chest.

by Anonymousreply 195October 17, 2019 2:10 AM

Andrew Yang is crumbling in this live interview with Rachel.

by Anonymousreply 196October 18, 2019 1:48 AM

Joy was one of the very first people to sound the alarm about Dump and Russia. I remember during the campaign in 2015 she devoted half her show to it. She, Malcom Nance and Sara Kendzior basically broke it down and it has all come to pass.

Steve Schmidt is no longer banished from MSNBC. Tonight on Chris Hayes.

by Anonymousreply 206October 19, 2019 12:47 AM

Having this live audience for the Chris Hayes show is weird. I don't like it.

by Anonymousreply 207October 19, 2019 12:52 AM

I like it, it's more like a talk show.

by Anonymousreply 208October 19, 2019 1:01 AM

[quote] Having this live audience for the Chris Hayes show is weird.

I agree. It makes it seem as if Chris is doing a stand-up routine or monologue, especially when they have him standing rather than seated behind a desk. It sends a message "This is entertainment, not journalism." How long until they give Chris a sidekick and a house band?

by Anonymousreply 209October 19, 2019 2:07 AM

Why was Schmidt banned?

by Anonymousreply 210October 19, 2019 6:08 AM

[quote] Why was Schmidt banned?

Because he was serving as an adviser to Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz on a potential run for president. MSNBC wouldn't let him be an on-air analyst while he was working for a (potential) candidate's campaign.

by Anonymousreply 211October 19, 2019 9:30 AM

You bitches have yet to post receipts on Joy's homophobia. I bet you lot voted for Obama in 2008 when he believed marriage was between a man and a woman. At this point gay marriage is law of the land, why do y'all give a fuck what she thinks about it???

And y'all only think Chris Hayes is cute because be is gay friendly. He's that cool straight friend all of you secretly hope to get drunk and hook up with. Newsflash! Not gonna happen!

by Anonymousreply 212October 19, 2019 6:57 PM

Buteverysongislike, the "Joy Reid posted homophobic comments on her blog" topic was discussed to death on this site months ago. We've moved on.

by Anonymousreply 213October 19, 2019 7:39 PM

True, R213.

We've moved on, but we still don't like her. Or her wig, for that matter.

by Anonymousreply 214October 19, 2019 11:33 PM

R214 That’s wigS. Plural. Many wigs.

by Anonymousreply 215October 19, 2019 11:58 PM

Grrrl, no mo coupons ...

by Anonymousreply 218October 20, 2019 3:53 AM

by Anonymousreply 219October 20, 2019 4:51 AM

r219, if there can be TV shows about black women and black hair and a Broadway play about Black hair, and TV shows about various levels of Blackness, all I did was point out that some choices are questionable.

Not racist; I embrace Joy's festival of hair-dos and hair-don'ts.

by Anonymousreply 220October 20, 2019 4:57 AM

Jonathan Capehart is hosting for David Gura today.

I haven't seen him in ages!

by Anonymousreply 222October 20, 2019 2:05 PM

Former Deputy Assistant Sec. of State Philippe Reines was on "Up With David Gura," and he just told some black lady off!

She was rambling about how we need to listen to Cory Booker and just focus on the issues at hand, and how Hillary was wrong for bringing up this Russian thing about Tulsi.

He wasn't having it! He basically said that Hillary got more votes than Trump and Obama, and that she isn't going ANYWHERE, and she can say whatever the hell she wants to say.

That lady just sat there with her stupid mouth wide open, because he had just told her off!! Bwahahaha.

I love this guy!

by Anonymousreply 224October 20, 2019 8:22 PM

Blocking the racist Joy haters. They are as tiresome as they are transparent.

by Anonymousreply 225October 20, 2019 8:56 PM

R225 it's mostly coming from 1 guy who repeatedly posts about her. He's obsessed and ruining the thread

by Anonymousreply 226October 20, 2019 9:27 PM

Actually, I’d bet most of us have issues with Joy. Not because of racism.

by Anonymousreply 227October 20, 2019 9:46 PM

I'm going to start limiting my MSNBC exposure as we get deeper into campaign season.

Right now during Velshi&Ruhle they're giving Trump all the free air time to spew his bullshit. Yes, they're going to do the same thing they did in 2016. It's literally just one of his rambles, with ZERO policy announcements. Why??? They're giving him a wide platform just to lie to us. At least Rachel and Nicolle limit how much airtime they'll give him so I'll probably stick to those two.

by Anonymousreply 228October 21, 2019 5:25 PM

yeah but how much power do the hosts have? Isn't it mostly producers who decide what and how much to show? Maybe big names like Rachel and Lawrence can dictate more of their content but Velshi and Ruhle?

by Anonymousreply 229October 21, 2019 6:36 PM

Breaking: Chris Matthews is back and looks like he's on death's door.

by Anonymousreply 230October 21, 2019 11:02 PM

He's back way too soon after surgery, R230.

Chris needs time to recover, but he's clearly a workaholic, and can't stay away.

by Anonymousreply 231October 21, 2019 11:04 PM

My father had prostate surgery when he was maybe a little (but not much) younger than Matthews is now (73) and my dad was out running on a local school track within less than a month. That was against Dr's advice, but no harm done -- if the diseased organ is removed and the patient is otherwise healthy, then maybe returning to a desk job like Matthews' is better for him than staying in bed and fretting.

by Anonymousreply 232October 21, 2019 11:26 PM

Chris looks like he lost a few pounds and his tan has faded, but otherwise he seems ok.

by Anonymousreply 233October 21, 2019 11:29 PM

He’s back to his old sputtering and burping self!

by Anonymousreply 234October 21, 2019 11:38 PM

I loved Rachel's opening segment tonight. She really held nothing back talking about all the dirty tricks played by Trump and the Rethugs.

by Anonymousreply 235October 22, 2019 1:31 AM

R235 yes she did but how many people outside of her regular viewers will realize all of what she said?

I do applaud most of the mainstream media so far for saying the Biden "scandal" is fake but they need to do more than say "there is no evidence". Call it a hoax!

by Anonymousreply 236October 22, 2019 1:36 AM

Rachel stopped short of outright accusing The NY Times of journalistic malfeasance. She came close though.

by Anonymousreply 237October 22, 2019 1:36 AM

Rachel still pushing women over men with tenacity.

Mention of Pete's surge in IA against Bernie's 25K person roll out for campaign speech in NYC. No mention of Pete's TREMENDOUS ground game in IA,

His team building is AWESOME and Rachel gives it a pffft.

by Anonymousreply 238October 22, 2019 1:48 AM

And lo and behold on Rachel, Amy "Mole Eyes" Klobuchar.

She looks like she never recovered from cataract surgery.

Rachel pushing her to get her over the hump to the next debate when she really should bow out.

From the Corey Booker School of Senate deservatude.

What a surprise to see Rachel licking Amy Klobuchar's pussy again.

by Anonymousreply 240October 22, 2019 2:06 AM

You'd think Amy would be more wide eyed then...

by Anonymousreply 241October 22, 2019 2:54 AM

[quote]Rachel stopped short of outright accusing The NY Times of journalistic malfeasance. She came close though.

So she’s parroting Trump’s talking points now?

by Anonymousreply 242October 22, 2019 3:01 AM

It was funny when Amy K said, "a moment is only that but my campaign is building momentum!" and only a few minutes later Rachel said, "Amy Klobuchar is here, whose campaign is having a moment!"

by Anonymousreply 243October 22, 2019 1:01 PM

Rachel is a fan of whomever is her big interview of the night. She can't admire Pete's huge rise in Iowa only minutes before introducing Amy K who is certainly not rising in Iowa. That would be far too awkward.

When Pete comes back on her show, he will be her #1 for at least that night and the two of them will be giddy together about his huge poll numbers.

by Anonymousreply 244October 22, 2019 1:04 PM

No, Rachel seems rather cold to the idea of Pete, even when he's on her show.

by Anonymousreply 245October 22, 2019 2:11 PM

They keep falling for the “Cabinet Meeting” gambit. If it were a real cabinet meeting, it would be newsworthy, but Trump just uses the cabinet as a prop for a typical diatribe.

by Anonymousreply 246October 22, 2019 4:00 PM

Matt Bradley was just on, reporting from a refugee camp in Iraq, he’s a big handsome guy, quite nice tits.

by Anonymousreply 247October 22, 2019 5:27 PM

Rachel loves Senate pussy.

by Anonymousreply 248October 22, 2019 11:02 PM

Agree that Matt Bradley is hot as hell. Didn't know that he speaks Arab until this recent deployment for reporting.

by Anonymousreply 249October 22, 2019 11:15 PM

There's no need to read Amb. Bill Taylor's opening statement for yourselves. Rachel is reciting the text tonight.

The woman can't resist audiobooking on screen the full-text indictments, depositions, and sundry documents.

by Anonymousreply 250October 23, 2019 1:11 AM

Rachel is it really necessary for you to read out loud to your audience? Tell us something we don’t already know.

by Anonymousreply 251October 23, 2019 1:16 AM

Good for Rachel. It is like an instant audio-book.

by Anonymousreply 252October 23, 2019 1:17 AM

And now she is weaving it all together as a TOTAL Trump Administration coverup.

by Anonymousreply 253October 23, 2019 1:22 AM

A an illegal abuse of power by Trump.

A crime scheme.

by Anonymousreply 254October 23, 2019 1:23 AM

Too many of these cable news network show hosts are accused of editorializing but you can’t be accused of that if you read the actual statement word-for-word made by the news maker.

by Anonymousreply 255October 23, 2019 1:53 AM

Jonathan Swan bloviating on Chris Matthews right now about how strong Republicans are. Insufferable as always.

by Anonymousreply 256October 23, 2019 11:56 PM

Is Rachel on Fire tonight?

by Anonymousreply 257October 24, 2019 12:30 AM

I live me some Rachel maddow. No wonder people are turning in to see her.

She just great at what she does.

by Anonymousreply 258October 24, 2019 12:36 AM

Rachel will be one of the moderators at the November Dem candidate debate

As will Andrea um, er, well....ah, em, uhhh Mitchell

by Anonymousreply 259October 24, 2019 12:51 AM

Where will the debates in Georgia be at? I can't find anything anywhere.

by Anonymousreply 260October 24, 2019 12:53 AM

Will Rachel play the audio from today's Trump taxes court arguments? Tape starting in 3..2..1...

by Anonymousreply 261October 24, 2019 1:10 AM

I want Ned Price deep inside of me.

by Anonymousreply 262October 24, 2019 2:13 AM

I agree, Ned is hot. His boyfriend is lucky.

by Anonymousreply 263October 24, 2019 2:14 AM

Poor Andrea Mitchell needs to be out out to pasture. It’s so sad. She doesn’t even know who’s who now.

by Anonymousreply 264October 24, 2019 4:37 AM

Really? I haven’t seen her for a while, but the last time I did, she was fine. Did she have a stroke?

by Anonymousreply 265October 24, 2019 5:00 AM

"We kid you a lot, cause we've got you on the spot, Welcome back."

Good to have Chris "Tweety" Matthews back! He's lost a couple of pounds but looks and sounds great so soon after surgery. He pisses me off to no end, but after all is said and done he's one of the good guys.

Stay well.

by Anonymousreply 266October 24, 2019 8:20 AM

R264 - Chris Jansing should be given the noon hour once they convince Andrea that "it's time."

by Anonymousreply 267October 24, 2019 8:24 AM

Joe and Mika are looking great on the outdoor set.

by Anonymousreply 268October 24, 2019 10:12 AM

They may be looking good but half the talk is drowned by construction noise. It's very annoying.

by Anonymousreply 269October 24, 2019 11:55 AM

Working outside in the dark really suits a hooker like Mika.

by Anonymousreply 270October 24, 2019 12:32 PM

Andrea needs to retire, in my opinion. She could write a book. She has so much information, she should write it down.

by Anonymousreply 271October 24, 2019 6:44 PM

I like Brian Williams.

by Anonymousreply 272October 24, 2019 6:46 PM

I love Chris Jansing!

She is so under-rated.

She's professional and not a grandstanding attention whore like Hallie Jackson and Katie Tur.

I don't understand why MSNBC doesn't promote her.

I don't know why Mica and Joe have been outside?

by Anonymousreply 275October 24, 2019 7:41 PM

Michael Crowley...WP reporter who is on Nicolle's show is a adorable!

by Anonymousreply 276October 24, 2019 8:18 PM

OMFG Chris Matthews just totally butchered Nadeam Elshami's name during the intro. He apologized immediately but just couldn't get it right. He was better saying his name at the end of the segment but how embarrassing

by Anonymousreply 277October 24, 2019 11:28 PM

Rachel is on FIRE!

by Anonymousreply 278October 24, 2019 11:32 PM

I hope someone puts her out before her show begins.

by Anonymousreply 279October 24, 2019 11:37 PM

R279 LOL.

[quote]OMFG Chris Matthews just totally butchered Nadeam Elshami's name during the intro. He apologized immediately but just couldn't get it right. He was better saying his name at the end of the segment but how embarrassing

He couldn’t say “Buttigieg” until a few weeks ago.

by Anonymousreply 281October 25, 2019 12:17 AM

Hell, Chris still doesn't know how to pronounce Dick Cheney's last name.

by Anonymousreply 282October 25, 2019 12:36 AM

My siblings and I are still chuckling at Chris Jansing's observation from this morning, that Rep. Elijah Cummings's casket was set upon Abraham Lincoln's "catapult."

by Anonymousreply 283October 25, 2019 12:48 AM

R283 What happened?

by Anonymousreply 284October 25, 2019 12:51 AM

^ The casket landed on the White House lawn, Rose.

by Anonymousreply 285October 25, 2019 1:13 AM

Is Amy on Rachel becoming a nightly thing now? Kind of sick of her.

by Anonymousreply 286October 25, 2019 5:52 AM

Rachel should have pointed out that Barr is forcing the DoJ to do an investigation that Trump forced the State Dept to do.

Fake investigation.

Must be the last thing on the Putin bucket list.

"Fake Prove" that it wasn't the Russians who conspired to change the 2016 election and remove the sanctions on Russia.

by Anonymousreply 287October 25, 2019 6:14 AM

R282 - Tweety is correct; the family has long acknowledged their last name's pronunciation as "Chee-ney," saying people probably think "Chay-ney" just sounds better.

by Anonymousreply 288October 25, 2019 3:11 PM

It sounds French.

Should be "Shay-nay."

by Anonymousreply 289October 25, 2019 7:34 PM

Should be “Fucking Asshole”.

by Anonymousreply 290October 25, 2019 11:14 PM

Rachel is salting the blade tonight...

by Anonymousreply 291October 26, 2019 1:20 AM

Rachel has bit the hand!

by Anonymousreply 292October 26, 2019 1:34 AM

Rachel is pulling a Colbert (CBS and really fucking Les Moonves) with NBC.

Moral of the Story, when you report the news, NEVER BECOME the news.

by Anonymousreply 293October 26, 2019 1:42 AM

Rachel? You in danger gurl!

by Anonymousreply 294October 26, 2019 1:49 AM

Yeah that "NBC News protected Weinstein" story that Rachel did was some next level shit

by Anonymousreply 295October 26, 2019 1:59 AM

by Anonymousreply 297October 26, 2019 2:42 AM

I was shocked at Rachel dissing NBC tonight, she must feel very confident. For a minute I thought she was going to announce she was leaving.

by Anonymousreply 298October 26, 2019 2:43 AM

Rachel, girl, sleep with one eye open tonight.

Man this woman has some major balls.

by Anonymousreply 299October 26, 2019 2:48 AM

I'm a Rachel fan, but it was Chris Hayes who was first to point the finger at the bosses at NBC News. But even though she wasn't first, Rachel certainly hit harder than Chris did.

by Anonymousreply 300October 26, 2019 3:15 AM

omg Lisa Graves is good to listen to her with expertise and experience but why the fuck can't she get her multiple moles on her chin and neck removed? They're hideous Surely she can afford it

by Anonymousreply 301October 26, 2019 5:06 AM

Rachel was on fire!!!

by Anonymousreply 302October 26, 2019 5:11 AM

is it bad to say "taint team"? Katy Tur gently scolded dilfy Frank Figliuzzi for saying that. She said "I don't say the 't word' around here" and he said "understand"

by Anonymousreply 303October 26, 2019 6:10 AM

Aimen Mohedin (sp) is filling in for Joy and he's unshaven. He looks like he's on Day 6 of a 10-day bender.

Why even bother with the suit and tie? If you're not going to shave, why bother getting dressed? Just toss on a stained t-shirt, nobody cares apparently.

by Anonymousreply 304October 26, 2019 2:07 PM

[quote] Aimen Mohedin (sp) is filling in for Joy and he's unshaven. He looks like he's on Day 6 of a 10-day bender.

They've had him filling in for a lot of people at all times of the day lately. Sometimes, he'll fill in for someone in the evening, then turn around and do his regular anchoring stint the next morning at 5 a.m. He's probably not getting regular sleep.

by Anonymousreply 305October 26, 2019 2:16 PM

I'm sure Rachel went over everything she was going to say with NBC big wigs. It just looks like she was going rogue. You know, it was choreographed for the audience behind the scenes.

I'm sure of it.

by Anonymousreply 306October 26, 2019 7:22 PM

Perhaps but what Rachel did was still very very rare on the world of “big media”

It was also powerful

by Anonymousreply 307October 26, 2019 7:52 PM

Of course, R306. They didn’t agree to release any victims from non-disclosure clauses by coincidence. But telling them what she is going to do is not they same as doing what they want. They cannot afford to alienate her over this.

by Anonymousreply 308October 26, 2019 7:55 PM

Rachel fancies herself as some sort of journalistic whistleblower, seeking out the truth at any cost.

Really she’s just a partisan shill.

by Anonymousreply 316October 27, 2019 9:01 AM

R304, are you a frau??? It's incredibly sexy, it's Saturday, and as others mentioned, he's probably not getting consistent sleep with his work schedule. Now that Yasmin girl is subbing for Joy today, and her nose job alone bothers me....

by Anonymousreply 317October 27, 2019 2:35 PM

Agree, R317. Ayman looked great yesterday.

by Anonymousreply 318October 27, 2019 4:17 PM

Ayman did look great yesterday on AM Joy, and I'd fuck him six ways to Sunday, but the poor guy is not good at hosting an opinion program like AM Joy. He's a Newsreader and that's about it. He tends to grab the Republican framing for an issue and then use it to start the conversation. He probably doesn't even realize he's doing it as all newsreaders do the same these days.

Last week they were talking about Hilary calling out Tulsi and he was all about, Is this a smart thing for Democrats? Ucch

by Anonymousreply 319October 27, 2019 4:46 PM

I think hallie Jackson looks like nichole richie. Am I alone in this?

by Anonymousreply 320October 27, 2019 7:43 PM

When Hallie Jackson hosts a daily show, she always makes a point to remind her interviewees that her "day job is covering the White House".

by Anonymousreply 321October 27, 2019 8:16 PM

HA R321! You're so right!

I heard her mention this at least twice in the past week.

She is insufferable and obnoxious.

And for some reason, she thinks that speaking quickly and loudly, somehow makes her smarter. It doesn't. It's actually quite off-putting.

by Anonymousreply 322October 27, 2019 8:25 PM

Did hallie come from privilege? She kinda seems like it.

by Anonymousreply 323October 27, 2019 8:49 PM

by Anonymousreply 328October 28, 2019 4:32 PM

by Anonymousreply 329October 28, 2019 4:36 PM

wow FUCK Mika & Joe for criticizing the baseball crowd for booing Trump and chanting "lock him up!"

Trump deserves NO respect due to any other president. I can't believe they said that.

by Anonymousreply 330October 28, 2019 5:54 PM

What the hell is up with Donnie Deutsch's incessant line that Nikki Haley or Mitt Romney would beat every Democratic candidate "in a landslide"? It's a very weird take because the Republican Party is not popular (even less popular than Donald Trump) and we already have a very relevant data point for Mitt Romney on this. Not to mention that the Senate would have to convict and remove Trump from office for this to happen, which would split the GOP apart for years.

Haley could be a formidable general election candidate in five or nine years, the former assuming that a Democrat wins in 2020 (because it will be virtually impossible for Republicans to win a third term if Trump wins reelection). However, I have doubts that she could even win a Republican primary now that it's Trump's party. As for Romney, Deutsch is delusional that he'd be landsliding anyone, especially since a lot of the Trump base (maybe the majority of that 35%) would never, ever, under any circumstances, vote for him.

by Anonymousreply 331October 29, 2019 11:20 PM

Maybe he's trying to get Republicans to "Primary" donald DUMP.

I think that he's just putting it in their heads.

by Anonymousreply 332October 29, 2019 11:22 PM

Donnie gets a tremendous amount of pleasure in needling Trump, By saying loud and clear that any other Republican would easily beat the Democrat, Trump knows that Donnie is screaming out to the base and trying to change their loyalty and the loyalty of the base is the ONLY thing Trump has left.

I'm getting really sick of Chris Matthews wondering about and asking "WHY" Trump does what he does. Is he corrupt? Is he stupid? As Cornell Belcher responded to Chris weeks ago about this, "With all due respect, who cares??!?" Yet Chris keeps asking night after night.

Chris, it doesn't matter if Trump is stupid or corrupt. He did what he did and it's illegal. He can sort it out with his God. Otherwise, we don't care!

by Anonymousreply 333October 29, 2019 11:35 PM

If Donnie Deutsch believes that any other Republican could beat Trump, does that include Bill Weld, who's actually running against him? I like him better than any other GOP contender I've seen lately. Too bad he doesn't have a chance.

I think the surgery really rejuvenated Matthews. He seems more coherent in recent days. I'm watching again.

by Anonymousreply 360October 31, 2019 12:31 AM

I think Donny Deutsch is right about a Romney/Haley ticket, but I don't think it would ever happen. Meanwhile I am very concerned about his obvious tremor. When he is on Nicole Wallace, he holds one hand down with the other, and the other day you could see his leg visibly shaking under the table.

by Anonymousreply 361October 31, 2019 12:49 AM

by Anonymousreply 370October 31, 2019 4:28 PM

Why are mika and joe never in the studio for there show anymore? Its always in front of a green screen from there house.

What is with that? Those two just seem to be able to do whatever they want.

I wonder if Rachel maddow would ever do her show from her house.

by Anonymousreply 371October 31, 2019 6:00 PM

R371, Maddow has a partner who lives in their house and who might not want TV cameras there. Whereas M&J presumably have no co-tenants, except possibly servants whose opinions may not count.

I love Cornell Belcher.

Ari Melber: “Cornell, do you know why you’re here?”

Cornell: (pause) “To rap???”

Lol

[quote] I appreciate that Nicolle Wallace always thanks her audience for watching.

She's a Conservative host on a Liberal/Progressive network.

She SHOULD thank us.

by Anonymousreply 377October 31, 2019 10:56 PM

So nice to see Nicolle and Steve together again.

by Anonymousreply 378October 31, 2019 11:18 PM

I like Steve but he almost comes across as if he has a slight form of autism inhow he expresses himself.

by Anonymousreply 379October 31, 2019 11:44 PM

What's up with Rachel's program tonight?

by Anonymousreply 380November 1, 2019 1:25 AM

Mika and Joe are poor over-taxed millionaires so they left Connecticut for Florida. So now they broadcast from their basement tax shelter, uh home studio...

by Anonymousreply 381November 1, 2019 2:01 AM

I do think Steve Schmidt is on the spectrum but he is a very eloquent speaker. I wish I could put words together like him.

Mika and Joe had a distinct impeachment glow this morning. Jon Meacham had resting bitch face.

by Anonymousreply 384November 1, 2019 12:42 PM

Steve Schmidt is brilliant and probably got his job with McCain based on his formidable vocabulary.

by Anonymousreply 385November 1, 2019 12:50 PM

Lt. Col. Vindman seems like a fine man, but beware Oliver North syndrome: just because he’s got good posture and a nice uniform should not be how we judge these things.

by Anonymousreply 386November 1, 2019 12:53 PM

Steve Schmidt strikes me as a guy very desperate not to sound like an inarticulate hick with a pronounced accent so he speaks very slowly and deliberately in a monotone. Kind of like how closeted gays speak to keep the purses from falling out of their mouths.

I have a feeling that if you chatted with Steve off camera, he would speak very differently.

by Anonymousreply 387November 1, 2019 2:21 PM

Steve Schmidt has Aspie written all over him

by Anonymousreply 388November 1, 2019 2:23 PM

I'm glad to see Steve Schmidt back, and DL fave Richard Paynter has been turning back up too! I love hearing this guy bawling our his opinions and taking no prisoners!!

by Anonymousreply 389November 1, 2019 6:20 PM

I like David Jolly because he was the first one to call trump out at the beginning of his presidency. Jolly called him a dirt bag and everyone was like, oooooooh you shouldn't say that about a sitting president and Jolly was like, fuck that. He's a dirt bag.

Talking about Trump's move from NYC to FL, a pundit on Nicole's show just said, "Donald Trump is a New York City character in a city full of characters!" while sitting directly opposite Reverend Al Sharpton, LOL.

LOL, Rev. Al!

(But I'm sure 4 is lowballing it bigly.)

by Anonymousreply 397November 1, 2019 10:14 PM

Funny how Rachel doesn't treat Kornacki as a white gay male POS?

I hope Pete never goes on her show again.

And I like Rachel.

by Anonymousreply 398November 2, 2019 2:01 AM

R398 What does that even mean?

by Anonymousreply 399November 2, 2019 2:14 AM

r399, It means that Miss Lesbian Rhodes Scholars treats Mr. Gay Rhodes Scholars very differently from other Presidential candidates.

She was a cunt to Pete, she is not a cunt to Steve.

Keep up.

by Anonymousreply 400November 2, 2019 2:18 AM

I'm not R399, but I have to say I saw that interview with Pete and she wasn't a cunt at all - and I never understood why some posters like yourself got so upset over it.

by Anonymousreply 401November 2, 2019 2:30 AM

Rachel was perfectly fine towards Pete. The people who start forty Pete threads a day here must be under the impression that journalists shouldn't pose tough questions to their idol.

The candidate whom Rachel actually treats differently is Klobuchar. It's a little embarrassing, how solicitous Rachel is towards her.

by Anonymousreply 402November 2, 2019 2:50 AM

Rachel attacked Pete for his gayness as only a lesbian could. Her implications that he cam out late for political reasons was hateful. The entire interview was subtext, context and implication.

The declamation, I was an OUT Rhodes Scholar was particularly cunty.

I stand by my eval.

by Anonymousreply 403November 2, 2019 2:57 AM

I can’t stomach watching any show on a network that has Al Sharpton on it.

by Anonymousreply 404November 2, 2019 4:48 AM

She seems to really have a hard time that Pete was closeted for so many years. She doesn’t understand how that’s possible.

by Anonymousreply 405November 2, 2019 5:04 AM

Booker (another Rhodes scholar) STILL isn't out and she treats him fine. I'm sure the issue was cleared with Pete before she raised it on air -- or maybe it was his idea to begin with, since the issue was bound to come up someday and he preferred to have it happen on her show rather than somewhere else. I think you're seeing things, R405.

by Anonymousreply 406November 2, 2019 12:28 PM

[quote]She seems to really have a hard time that Pete was closeted for so many years. She doesn’t understand how that’s possible.

Your use of the word "seems" implies present tense - as if she still has a problem with it.

Instead, at the time of the interview she merely asked a question as to why it took him as long as it did to come out - and he used that opportunity to explain his experience.

The whole purrpose of an interview is to provide a learning experience, and that Q&A I thought did that.

Some people her made it sound as if she were harping on why he did not come out sooner when that clearly was not the case.

As for Booker, if ever he comes out, I can't imagine her not asking a variation on the same question.

Any variation on "Why did it take as long as it did?" is not a horrifying thing to ask someone.

There's nothing wrong with asking and learning about other people's personal journeys.

One other thing: it's ironic to call someone "hateful" when one uses words like "cunt" and phrases like "as only a lesbian could."

by Anonymousreply 407November 2, 2019 1:29 PM

I think David Jolly is hot af.

by Anonymousreply 408November 2, 2019 2:20 PM

The key to her hatefulness, and hence her cuntiness, was how she personalized her questions.

The underlying tone was that she was a better lesbian than he was a gay man.

Nothing ironic about that at all.

No nutloaf for Rachel. [The title of her biography coming to book signings soon!]

by Anonymousreply 409November 2, 2019 3:28 PM

She views herself as a more “authentic” gay person because she’s lived most of her life being out, and she looks down upon him for hiding in the closet and pretending to be straight all those years.

Yeah, she didn’t exactly say that, but the implication was obvious.

She should focus more on the news she allegedly comments on, rather than making everything about herself.

by Anonymousreply 410November 2, 2019 3:54 PM

Maybe she just wanted to be challenging? That's kind of her job, right?

by Anonymousreply 411November 2, 2019 3:58 PM

Leave Rachel alone.

by Anonymousreply 412November 2, 2019 3:59 PM

Any Klobuchar must really be Rachel’s type.

by Anonymousreply 413November 2, 2019 4:04 PM

I truly don't understand the love for Rachel or her show. I can't bear to watch it.

by Anonymousreply 414November 2, 2019 4:04 PM

No Nutloaf For Rachel.

by Anonymousreply 415November 2, 2019 4:04 PM

R414 You don't even have a show. Who are you?

by Anonymousreply 416November 2, 2019 4:06 PM

I don’t why any gay man is watching her show when you could flip over to CNN and be watching the delicious Chris Cuomo.

by Anonymousreply 417November 2, 2019 4:16 PM

Because Rachel is a genius, that's why.

And, she has the goods on Washington and the entire corrupt national and international political system.

That's what I love about her.

by Anonymousreply 418November 2, 2019 4:21 PM

Pete should welcome any and all "friendly fire" and treat it as debate prep. donald will certainly pull no punches should Pete be the nominee.

On a separate note...where has Joy Reid been the past two weeks or so? Jonathan Capehart said "Joy's in sick bay."

by Anonymousreply 419November 3, 2019 5:58 PM
