That Murder, She Wrote reboot really took a turn!

I'd watch Kathryn Hahn read the fucking phonebook. Jen Richards played Anna Madrigal in a flashback in Tales of the City recently and blew me away. Owen Teague was in It and It Chapter Two, and has recently been cast in King's The Stand. Bitch has a bright future ahead of him.

Anyone watched the premiere? Started out pretty frau-y, but then the naughtiness jumped out and it went super porny towards the end. Literally; can't believe they showed an actual porn clip on HBO. 😮

R6 I agree with you. The novel was well-written, but I just had to struggle to finish it, as I did not give a damn about either of the characters. I don't have to like them, but they have to hold my interest in some way.

The second episode follows the first one - okay for the most part and then a bomb ending. This week's was just transcendent; cathartic with so much humanity when it could have easily been played for laughs. I like Hahn's chunky coworker and the trans teacher at that class she's attending. Great presence on both of them. Hahn is absolutely amazing. One of those fearless performances, I believe they're called.

But her son... man, I truly could not give less of a shit about his college adventures. Also, the actor looks thirty and it's throwing me off. Huge chest and then a teeny tiny butt. I cringe every time Cameron Boyce is on screen - such a charismatic actor, I can't believe he's not with us anymore!

That weird kid the son bumped into as he as leaving the counsellor's office... what's his story? He intrigues me.

The son is supposed to be unlikeable and we assume there will be a reckoning. Also the nerd he bullied, in his HS, is going to fuck his mother, soon. Right?

I kinda love this show at this point. That reversal of his mom exploring her sexuality while he - the previously cool hot jock - is now the loser who has to hang out with the same people he had bullied previously in high school, is amazing. His arc is still the least interesting, though. I wanted to slap that aspie kid, his dad, and the mom.

When she kissed the lesbian (bi?) woman and the awkwardness that followed... as painful as if it happened before me. Great writing. The trans actress is so adorkable and charming, I love her.
