Boris only strategy at this point is to rile up as many old white people as he can in hopes of winning the next election.

"When he told MPs that the "best way" to honour Jo Cox, who was murdered in the 2016 referendum, was to "get Brexit done", the chamber moved past boiling point and into complete meltdown. Some MPs walked out of the chamber in protest. Others left in tears.

But be in no doubt, this is a deliberate, calculated strategy to proactively whip up public anger. Mr Johnson's politics at the dispatch box on Wednesday were lifted straight from Trump's playbook. The more his rivals rage and rail against him, the better. His path to electoral success is predicated on stoking up division in order to turn out his vote.

Mr Johnson has no interest in uniting a nation. He has every interest in convincing Brexit supporters to back him in a general election. If he can win 35% of the popular vote from that pool of 17.4m Vote Leave supporters, he could stay as prime minister. Everything he does now is designed to prove to them he is the only one on their side."

They're dumb enough to vote for him, he could win.

by Anonymousreply 1September 26, 2019 10:48 AM

Of course they're dumb enough, he's a total lying cunt but all 'they' want is to leave the EU, thinking it'll solve years and years of problems which success UK government's could have solved but chose not to.

It makes me suicidal.

It was truly shocking to see the scenes being played out in parliament yesterday. It's sickening that we are being led to hell by these utter donkeys. And Boris needs to get a fucking haircut, the ridiculous clown.

by Anonymousreply 3September 26, 2019 11:16 AM

This is exactly Trump’s strategy as well

by Anonymousreply 4September 26, 2019 11:19 AM

Shocking scenes yesterday, I watched the whole thing. He looked positively Trumpian in his rantings. European commission urges Boris Johnson to show more respect to his opponents.

[quote]"Respect is the key word. Respect is a fundamental value of all our democracies. It's the responsibility of each and every politician to uphold our values. History has shown us what happens when they're not respected."

Yes, Johnson is blatantly just a posh thug now, that veneer of 'roguish charm' discarded forever. No real surprise, given he's the bullish warrior of the Daily Telegraph and Daily Mail's wet dreams. (Without their and others' disgraceful Brexit rhetoric, Jo Cox would still be alive.)

No need to imagine too hard the frothing press outrage had Corbyn misled The Queen. Boris being a posh thug - 'one of us' - once more gets kid gloves.

Tragically, given the zeitgeist, plenty will warm to the posh thug. He knows it - no need for 'charm' any more. He 'gets things done', he 'shakes things up', he 'tells it like it is.' Sociopathy writ large for UK deplorables.

In this ugly climate more murders wouldn't be in the least surprising - a female MP passionately warned Johnson that she regularly had death threats, and he needed to moderate his language. He dismissed this as 'humbug.' Johnson is a disgrace.

This is the Britain I know, having worked with a lot of them over the years. So gratifying to see it revealed to the world. Anglophilia is dead.

by Anonymousreply 7September 26, 2019 11:32 AM

10 years from now, everyone will be praising Johnson's role in navigating Brexit. Except of course you tossers.

by Anonymousreply 8September 26, 2019 11:33 AM

R8 = old angry white person

by Anonymousreply 9September 26, 2019 11:34 AM

He can't even navigate his way to the hairdresser's, you deplorable cunt.

by Anonymousreply 10September 26, 2019 11:34 AM

R9 = Angry, empty-headed tosser!

by Anonymousreply 11September 26, 2019 11:36 AM

R9 Make that angry, empty-headed RACIST tosser!

by Anonymousreply 12September 26, 2019 11:36 AM

R8 = Still old. Now angrier. Still white.

And raging in their impotence in the face of what is going on.

by Anonymousreply 13September 26, 2019 11:39 AM

I've only just realised that Johnson's performance in Parliament yesterday was the closest thing we've yet seen in the UK to Trump's rally act. And has been seen as such by the sane. I hope comparative clips might be broadcast.

Different context of course, but the aggression and ugliness bear comparison. Excellent that Johnson's gruesome US champion is now under serious duress. PM BJ will rightly face similar scrutiny. He doesn't deserve a shred of trust.

Can you stop with the "old white men" cliche? Go back to Black Twitter with that shit.
