r14 - apparently, Austen only completed 11 chapters that essentially covers the introduction of the majority of main characters and some nominal setup before her death.

Austen never discussed the plot with her sister Cassandra, who inherited the unfinished manuscript, with whom she had previously discussed all her books.

Whatever story they've created for this show was from whole cloth.

A long, long time ago on DL, "White Adjacent" was coined as a smart comeback when debating whether someone would be considered "white' by the traditional old money waspy standards. Italians, Spaniards, Greeks - none of those were considered "white" by White Anglo Saxon Protestant reckoning. A hundred years ago, the notion of being white in American was a lot more restrictive than it is even today.

DL started using the phrase "white adjacent" to describe people who by most other people's standards would be deemed "white" today, but are a bit ethnic in background or appearance. It predates him on the DL, but Brenton Thwaites was one of the people to whom adjacent was applied so frequency back in the days when threads about him were more common than Chalamet threads are today.

I stick to my claim that this guy is peaking now. When he was a young man he looked like a rich boy in special ed classes, but not called that. I would even wonder how his entire face volumes have improved but no doubt they have, perhaps just a miracle of growing his man face.

Plus he has now acquired the Leading Man body volumes, which might have required hormones - and they can masculinise the face. Whatever he did, he certainly transformed!

I nominated him long ago to play Malone in Dancer from the Dance, and this picture of his ass leads me to remain firm in my recommendation.

I'm around a lot of celebs in my job and at one event Theo and I were in the men's room alone. Wasn't by the urinals, though, so I have nothing to report there...we were by the sinks. I don't think I'd ever seen anyone who radiates such strength and masculinity. He has an incredibly worked out body. He was wearing a sweater that just hugged his body; amazing upper body/torso and arms.

The show itself is kinda nothing. Anne Reid is cunty, many characters simper, two black characters have been added who seem lost, very underwhelmed, Andrew is a better writer than this

Even though his looks don't challenge eurocentric beauty standards, he nevertheless has quite an ethnic look. I can see him getting passed over for first/second billed (super)hero roles in favour of white guys. And he'd be considered too "hot" for the supporting hero/friend roles.

In terms of the UK, he's probably a bit like Cavill. They already have guys who are better actors and reasonably attractive enough for the romantic leads roles.

Even though he has this show, I'm kind of surprised his career mostly tanked. He had a US network show then of course the Divergent films, seems like he was trending upward. Most of the Divergent cast is doing really well, but Theo's been relegated to co-starring with Emily Ratajkowski, which is as bottom of the barrel as one can get. I don't understand it, he's great looking and a good actor. Thought he was miles better than Shailene Woodley, who I feel is a pretty shitty actress.
