Given his financial situation and age, may be a blessing. I remember in the 80s praying to make it to 30. 50 is more than I ever expected. But what goes along with the extra years is financial challenges and the results of living like you were going tot die tomorrow for so many years. Lots of us are barely getting by with little hope of a retirement. The elder years won’t be easy.
