I loved so many of her books. They could be both fun/"beach read" books and yet were also smart and forward thinking.

Stephen King loves "The House Next Door" and has frequently praised it, so a lot of his readers discovered it. It was made into a TV movie. starring Lara Flynn Boyle, which I've never seen.
