What’s causing women to join the NoFap movement?
[quote]Kristel is a follower of NoFap, a platform that encourages its users to refrain from masturbation. She claims her new lifestyle has led to a complete physical and mental reformation.
[quote]“After starting NoFap I felt more motivation, more willpower and more discipline,” Kristel tells me. “I decided to take part in the movement because I like challenging myself and I wanted to prove that I could accomplish this.”
[quote]And yet, Kristel has no plans to stop. “After years of abstaining, there is no restriction involved, it feels natural to me now,” she says. “I don’t feel any urge to go back.”

Shouldn’t that be the NoFlaps movement?

How to put this.... "Fap" is not female onomatopoeia.

What movement is next? No wipe?

It would be far more newsworthy if men were leading the "no fap" movement.

I - a guy - forgot to masturbate for a month once because of stress and I have to say I did begin to feel amazing and more in control two or three weeks in. Though I started feeling sorry for my prostate, so I eventually jerked off. That wank felt incredible, but the prior benefits went away soon after. 😕
The solution is probably milking a soft penis, but I don't really enjoy that sensation.

r6 They are.
[quote]NoFap’s Reddit forum now has more than 450,000 members primarily in North America and the UK, and Kristel is part of a smaller subset of female subscribers. Rhodes estimates that about 5% of the NoFap followers are female and although the cohort may be small, it is seemingly mighty. Kristel’s transformation video alone has racked up almost 1.5m views to date. She says the vast majority of her viewers are based in the US, with a smaller but significant following in India.

In my 20s I once spent 3 months without any kind of sex, and yes it really felt amazing. I was doing yoga and meditating the whole time which obviously contributed as well. I did feel more powerful and calm.
Now in my forties I spent a month without ejaculating a few years ago and got a terrible case of prostatitis which lasted close to 6 months. So no more sexless days for me. I need and want to cum at least two or three times a week.

Not healtny or normal, especially for us blokes. I cannot believe women have bought into this now.

I think the people who brag online about how not touching themselves has led to more fulfilling lives are absolutely bizarre. Who the hell goes on a 10 mile hike, witnesses nature in it's full glory and thinks to themselves "I'm so glad I'm not wanking right now".

It does seem like a regression for women. Fapping has a number of health benefits in both men and women, so why abstain? I'm talking in moderation of course, but today's society must go to one extreme or another it seems.

From the article: "A Reddit forum dedicated to abstaining from masturbation has over 450,000 members – and about 5% of them are female"
So it looks like women are NOT joining this movement, at least not in large numbers
"This is yet another by-product of ‘wellness’ culture; women trying to outperform each other on purity and cleanliness."
See above, this is mostly men

r21 True for Reddit, but YouTube is its own thing with a different user base.

So we'll see a couple of years from now if this is a trend or not.

It’s just another way for people to feel superior to others. And I’ve noticed that there are these fads among bored affluent women. They have something new to squawk about.

So I just searched the r/NoFap subreddit for "prostate" and every thread is basically about how this is a myth completely unsupported by science, i.e. masturbaton doesn't stave off prostate cancer and abstinence doesn't increase the chance of getting it. A poster a month ago said he went to a big-shot urologist ("at least 9 diplomas on his walls!") and the urologist - of course - told him it's a myth.
Which got me thinking... IS there sufficient research to prove this connection? I know the NHS recommended years ago that you should masturbate at least three times per week to keep your prostate healthy, so they had to have made that recommendation based on evidence, right? Also, it's not only prostate cancer that's the issue here, is it? You probably have an increased chance of getting prostatitis as well. Which I did once after I had edged for too long.
Thoughts?

By the way, this is the top post for the last month:
[quote]My crush that previously ghosted me and called me names like chubby, and weirdo, and nerdy, ugly just texted me this morning. She told me I looked good and she was wrong about me and that we should go get coffee one time. I confidently told her to go fuck herself.
I'm starting to get the feeling this is mostly an incel thing...

Damn, some of them have this thing really thought out, haven't they?
[quote]"I fantasized, I might as well peek. I peeked, I might as well watch. I watched, I might as well edge. I edged, I might as well fap. I'm fapping, I might as well O. I Oed, I might as well binge." DON'T. Don't give in to Escalation.
[quote]Binging is worse than Oing. Oing is worse than fapping. Fapping is worse than edging. Edging is worse than watching. Watching is worse than peeking. Peeking is worse than fantasizing. It always starts with fantasizing. It can always ends there.
It does make sense in a way, so I can see how it could be appealing to so many impressionable young men. They make masturbation into this one and only barrier that is preventing them from getting the female sexbot they think they deserve.
