Well, it’s my second time quitting this year. Didn’t last long the first time but this is it.
Anyone else giving it a go?

What was your brand of cigarettes, OP?

I've done it, and I'm very glad that I did. Don't beat yourself up if you're not perfect. I had to do it in stages. First, cigarettes, but it took me a while to give up cigars. But I finally stopped altogether the year my Mom died (from emphysema). Your wallet will thank you , and since you're not buying cigarettes, consider buying yourself some flowers when you go to the grocery store. Now, I always have some fresh flowers in the house.

Marlboro Lights, R1.
Good job, r2. How long ago did you quit? I have a vape pen just in case but plan on not using it.

Congrats, OP.
If at first you don't succeed, keep trying. Your heart and lungs will thank you.

R3, My Mom died in May, 2013, and my Dad died in July, 2013. I rented a cabin in October that year, and brought a couple of good cigars with me. I only got halfway through the first one, when I finally had to ask myself, "what the fuck are you doing, you asshole?". That was the last time. I don't know why or how, but I know that's the last time. I don't miss them one tiny bit.

Good luck, OP. You will make it!

"We miss you!"

I love smoking. I adore the feeling of holding a firm, unopened packed. Peeling away at the cellophane and watching it glimmer in the light. Lighting that first, perfect white cilinder. Taking the smoke in my lungs, little fingers of smoke, caressing me. The warmth that penetrates deeper and deeper.... Until I just can't take it.

R5, it’s encouraging to hear you don’t miss it at all.
Thanks, R6.
I hate you, R7 (and kind of miss you a little already).

Me too! Let's do it together OP!

Smoke us as an alternative.

R10, best of luck to you! Feel free to update on your progress here. I’ll try to do the same.

“Just had my last cigarette”
You type like there’s a firing squad waiting for your last keystroke.

My earliest memory goes back to 1963. I had used my Mom's lipstick to draw all over the carpet of the house that we had just moved into. I was only a 2 year old, but my Mom was sobbing and smoking like a chimney as she scrubbed the threadbare carpet. I thought it was because I was a bad kid. I didn't know about the assassination until I was much older. My poor Mom wasn't able to give up smoking until she had to schedule major surgery (abdominal aortic aneurysm). If smoking is an integral part of your life, it's just not that easy to leave it behind. So, be kind to yourself. It's not that easy, but it's important. I still have the bill of lading for when my family moved here (I still live in the same house).

R11, that's the way to go

Yes indeed, we too use "cookies." Take a look at our privacy/terms or if you just want to see the damn site without all this bureaucratic nonsense, click ACCEPT. Otherwise, you'll just have to find some other site for your pointless bitchery needs.
