Did You Ever Feel Like You Had An STD But Didn’t?

I swore I must have gotten chlamydia or gonorrhea from my ex (even though he had no symptoms) awhile back. I went to the doctor, was tested and came back negative. They gave me antibiotics anyway and whatever the heck was going on cleared up anyway. I felt like I had something stuck in my urethra and had to go to the bathroom constantly always feeling like urine was still stuck after I went.

Has anyone else experienced this? I’m in my late 20s. I’ve heard that some people do get STDs, get a negative because there’s a window attached as to how long it will show up in urine. TIA

Every time I leave DataLounge I feel like I have an STD.

I had an on/off burning sensation that lasted about a year that I was convinced was gonorrhoea, chlamydia, prostatitis, or something similar. It turned out to be a kidney stone.

It’s happened to me a lot. And I’ve never tested positive for anything ... until recently, when a routine test revealed chlamydia in my ass. Where I hadn’t been having any symptoms at all.

Just goes to show that a lack of symptoms doesn’t always indicate a lack of infection.

Oh, and OP, you might have had non-specific urethritis (a catch-all diagnosis that doctors use when they can’t figure out what patients have).

Sounds like a small kidney stone

In the 80’s I used to get tested at the free clinic so often that I had a sit down with the clinic director who told me I didn’t need to be tested if I was “safe.”

I had a burning when I urinated. Turned out it was a calcium deposit.

It can also be a UTI. It happens to women more than men, but I've had it happen a few times. Negative G/C but some docs pre-treat while your G/C test is pending - so with the antibiotics, the UTI goes away. It can hurt like hell too - very similar to G/C but it's just not.

I thought I had anal warts, although it was just hemorrhoids. Here is a photo. All clear now.

STIs are on the increase.

Sounds like non-specific urethritis, OP, if it immediately felt better when you were peeing but the discomfort came back right after. I had it a couple of times in my 20s.
