If he's still alive, I'd guess David White is still in the Knoxville, TN area.
About 11 years ago he had to close down the gym he'd owned and been running for 25 years - appropriately called "The Gym" - in South Knoxville. At that time, he indicated, he'd be going the private, personal training route. But he's probably old enough to be retired now.
Here's a 2008 feature in the local paper (with photo) on the gym closure.

Also, back in 2007, Uomoclassico did a retrospective feature of his modeling career. The article also mentions the gym in Knoxville and includes a picture of him at that point in time at the end of the article.
In the article, White happened to mention his own son, Eric (then 22-years old) and said he looked just like him from GQ cover days.

I had a big time schoolboy crush on David White, after seeing him in my mom's Sears (?) catalog magazines, shirtless, modeling tighty wighties, bikini briefs, pajama pants, etc. I kept the catalogs in my room and used them for spank material when I reached that age. His hairy chest got me excited. I didn't know his name for many years, until I saw a retrospective of him in Playgirl magazine. I was pleasantly surprised to see my boyhood crush naked as jaybird! Of course, I had to pop one off right then and there. The man is older now, as am I, but he was part of my coming of age.

He sure was pretty. I came across a photo of him several years back (the article was older, like R6's link) and he looked much the same, except the hair is now silver. I thought he was self-employed in some fitness venture, but my memory isn't that good.
