The Trumps after the White House

Where will they go, what will they do?

by Anonymousreply 41August 24, 2019 11:18 PM

Prison.

by Anonymousreply 1August 24, 2019 4:28 PM

To hell, for all I'm concerned.

by Anonymousreply 2August 24, 2019 4:30 PM

Back to NYC and his fetish with “making deals”.

The problem with prison is it will be hard to find a jury without at least one cult member on it.

by Anonymousreply 3August 24, 2019 4:32 PM

Prison, all of them.

by Anonymousreply 4August 24, 2019 4:32 PM

Nixon was pretty much a social pariah. GWB doesnt get out much - but I think he's appearing more now just because Trump doesn't make him look so bad.

Trump will NOT be the quiet former president. And the media will report on his every burp and fart as usual. Melania will divorce him very quickly - but it will look like HE divorced HER.

by Anonymousreply 5August 24, 2019 4:33 PM

If the US survives as some version of what it was before Trump took the presidency, I hate to break this to you, but within a few generations, the Trump descendants will be like the Rockefellers, the Vanderbilts, the Carnegies, the Kennedys—old money political influencers. All these American royal families are founded on criminal activities and fraud, and then once they take enough power and the first couple of generations die off, we end up with people like Anderson Cooper. All we know is that he’s an heir and appears to be legitimate. We don’t ask questions about the bizarre story of his brother jumping off a an NYC balcony to his death while alone with Gloria as she watched. These families are fucked up and they run the country, and not only in political office or at corporations.

by Anonymousreply 6August 24, 2019 4:33 PM

He will go to his Florida mansion and golf, gorge, and do well-paid guest appearances on Faux News. He'll probably never see his family again, as there will be no need for campaign photo-ops or official portraits.

by Anonymousreply 7August 24, 2019 4:44 PM

There is a special place in Russia I’ve built that they will be Putin.

by Anonymousreply 8August 24, 2019 4:52 PM

Israel, duh. Would you turn down the chance to be crowned king of such a beautiful country?

by Anonymousreply 9August 24, 2019 5:58 PM

Instead of a Presidential Library....what? A hotel and casino are too obvious. A brothel? A fast food restaurant?

by Anonymousreply 10August 24, 2019 6:00 PM

R10 Presidential coupons: present this coupon for one free pass to fuck your own daughter with indemnity, courtesy of the Republican-controlled U.S. Supreme Court.

by Anonymousreply 11August 24, 2019 6:02 PM

People will eventually get tired of him and it will happen all of a sudden, like with other huge celebrities who disappeared almost overnight because of media saturation and changing tastes. The press doesn't like a president to stick around, and I don't think Trump will be any different, except that he may very well try to start his own media group like he was going to when he lost in 2016.

Both his parents started having failing health in their early 80s and I suspect the same will happen with Donald, too.

by Anonymousreply 12August 24, 2019 6:17 PM

He’s old. He’s obese. He uses a tanning bed. He eats McDonald’s food. He makes me resent nature, and he certainly is evidence that genetics can be far more influential on health than lifestyle and diet. Evil people really do seem invulnerable to life a lot of the time.

by Anonymousreply 13August 24, 2019 6:20 PM

Into Trump Tower.

Which might eventually get blown up later on.

Truly accidently, of course.

by Anonymousreply 14August 24, 2019 6:36 PM

It would be fun if Trump Tower were turned into a U.S. tower of London type of place to keep the whole Trump family until they’re forgotten. Let them fend for themselves in there with the other rats of New York.

Do you think he could get funding to continue his speeches/rallies? No way he’d spring for it, but deplorables would flock to see him rant about all the horrible things the new president is doing. He’ll also drag his secret service detail to all his own golf courses for a little extra income.

by Anonymousreply 17August 24, 2019 6:49 PM

Will secret service agents have to stand guard and watch as an octogenarian Trump’s fat ass mounts 20 year-old porn stars in Tampa?

by Anonymousreply 18August 24, 2019 6:52 PM

[quote] R5: GWB doesnt get out much - but I think he's appearing more now just because Trump doesn't make him look so bad.

I heard he can’t travel internationally, for fear of arrest for war crimes.

by Anonymousreply 19August 24, 2019 6:54 PM

Where will they go? Hell. What will they do? Suck cocks. Easy.

by Anonymousreply 20August 24, 2019 6:57 PM

Hopefully a holding cell in Guantanamo.

But barring that, probably where he was before-- splitting time between TT in NYC, his golf place in NJ and Mar a Lago.

He will be active on Twitter and the idiots in the media will report on his every brain fart as if Jesus came back from the dead and spoke.

by Anonymousreply 21August 24, 2019 6:57 PM

Maybe Vlad will invite the whole family to a Red Wedding-style polonium tea time to thank them for their service and send them out in style.

by Anonymousreply 22August 24, 2019 7:04 PM

[quote]The problem with prison is it will be hard to find a jury without at least one cult member on it.

This is precisely why we have "judgments notwithstanding the verdict" (a.k.a. JNOV), though unfortunately it only applies in civil cases. Basically it means a judge can overrule a jury decision if he or she thinks it's obvious that the chosen punishment does not, in fact, fit the crime.

Sadly, none of the Trumpistas have likely committed crimes in Oregon or Louisiana, the two states that allow non-unanimous jury verdicts in criminal cases.

by Anonymousreply 23August 24, 2019 7:04 PM

He will devote himself to building his Presidential Video (and Massage) Parlor.

by Anonymousreply 24August 24, 2019 7:53 PM

They will all flee to some country that doesn't have extradition to the US. Should be fun to watch!

by Anonymousreply 25August 24, 2019 8:00 PM

They will vacation in Israel and like it so much, they will stay. It will have nothing to do with the 25 page inditement.

by Anonymousreply 26August 24, 2019 9:03 PM

Don't be too hopeful. Ivanka wants to be president next.

by Anonymousreply 27August 24, 2019 9:09 PM

Russia would be a good fit.

by Anonymousreply 28August 24, 2019 9:15 PM

Prestitution

by Anonymousreply 29August 24, 2019 9:20 PM

They will be tied up in litigation for decades. They’ve been indicted for one thing in the NYS Southern district for fraud and campaign finance infraction related to their foundation. And all the rest in the mueller report than he cannot be indicted for as president- one of the reasons he want another term. He’s in deep legal trouble.

by Anonymousreply 30August 24, 2019 9:23 PM

NYC hates him. To be serious for a moment I think the Florida "white house" is the likely place. His children will run the company and he'll be fighting at least NY State indictments. He'll probably retire at some point after losing the election so that Pence can grant a pardon for "any and all crimes committed" on the federal level.

by Anonymousreply 31August 24, 2019 9:28 PM

R31 But will Pence pardon him? That would be a career-ender for sure.

After all, Claire Underwood didn't pardon Francis.....

by Anonymousreply 32August 24, 2019 9:31 PM

Trump and Pence lose. Trump resigns immediately so Pence gets the honor of being president for a few months. (Trump claims health issues.) In exchange for the sop Pence pardons him. Puts him in good with the base if he runs in the primary in 2024.

by Anonymousreply 33August 24, 2019 9:34 PM

To Hell. Burn.

by Anonymousreply 34August 24, 2019 9:43 PM

Trump might pardon Trump. But, accepting a pardon means acknowledging guilt, which will work against him on the state level. I wonder if he can issue a pardon for himself, then delay accepting it, until the best time to accept, such as after the State trials are over, and, do it all in secret? Lots of questions in that statement.

He won’t count on Pence to pardon him, and Pence will not pardon him. It would end Pence’s election chances ever again. That’s what happened to President Ford. People hated his pardon of Nixon.

I can’t see Trump ever resigning.

If he starts selling stuff, you know he’s gonna flee.

by Anonymousreply 35August 24, 2019 10:13 PM

Whether Trump can pardon Trump probably will be decided by reference to English law, from whence we imported the pardoning power. I don't think there has ever been a case of an English king pardoning himself. And there's the Nixon precedent. He did not pardon himself. This power would put presidents completely above the law. I doubt even this SC would uphold it. For Gorsuch has shown some independence and Roberts wouldn't stand for it. Getting Christian Pence to sware he would do the pardoning is safer for Trump.

by Anonymousreply 36August 24, 2019 10:31 PM

Yeah, it would be a risk. How about this:

Trump pardons Trump on Jan 19, 2021

There’s a court battle, settled in 2024.

If SCOTUS rules in his favor, only then, does Trump accept the pardon.

Though, it sounds easier for him to just move to Israel. I can’t see him moving to Russia, unless Israel refuses him.

by Anonymousreply 37August 24, 2019 10:36 PM

If Trump loses reelection, do any of you see him sticking to tradition and participating in the Inauguration of his successor? I just can't see it. I think he would make some kind of excuse why he can't be there rather than see someone else take his place.

by Anonymousreply 38August 24, 2019 10:58 PM

Agreed, R38.

I think it’s a stupid custom, anyway. Imagine Hillary and Trump sharing a ride to an inauguration. They didn’t even greet each other at George H W Bush’s funeral.

by Anonymousreply 39August 24, 2019 11:03 PM

I imagine the first thing he will have to do is respond to the divorce petition the Former First Whore of the United States (FFWOTUS) serves him with.

by Anonymousreply 40August 24, 2019 11:07 PM

John Adams left the White House in route to Baltimore at 4am the day of Jefferson's inauguration.
