He had a show on Bravo that lasted about two weeks. Not sure why this would be any different.

I do think he comes off as a little overeager sometimes -- if he would just dial it down some, he would be a lot better. That said, he does have personality to spare and seems like a genuinely good guy, so you kind of root for him.

He clearly has no shame about things that other people would be mortified about -- yesterday he was making jokes about the fact TMZ just happened to be filming him as his credit card was being denied at a Citi Bike station. It did not seem to bother him (at least not that he let on anyway).

The response to him sitting in for Wendy was very positive from her fans.

He just seems like a genuinely likable guy who doesn't take himself too seriously who women love.

Also he has a habit of reading tweets about himself and liking them whether they are positive or negative to let you know that he saw them.

I tried to watch the first episode but didn't make it past the beginning of the Miley segment. The pre-recorded skit at the top with Arden Marine was fun but it got awkward to watch straight away when the doors opened to reveal Wendy and Jerry together. He kissed her and she mock admonished him for it but it didn't seem wholly a joke. It must feel odd for her to show her possible replacement the ropes, even if she owns a cut of his show. In general, he's overeager and he'll repeat jokes, which immediately grates (e.g. acting out tongue-kissing while discussing the Miley pap pics).

If it is daytime, I doubt it will work. There have been a LOT of men that have tried daytime talk shows in the past 25 years and they weren't successful.

The only ones are Dr. Phil (blech) and Dr. Oz - very different than 'chat shows'.

Daytime is a woman's world. Late night is a man's world - although I'm unclear as to why.

Speaking of Virginia Graham, I had a friendly run in with her once back in the 80's. I was walking up E 50th St. in NYC heading to 30 Rock to have lunch with a friend. As I was on the sidewalk next to the Helmsley Palace Hotel a limousine was pulled up and stopped. Just as I got up to the car the chauffeur was opening the back door and Virginia Graham bounded out wearing this long floor length cape asking the chauffeur "is this my hotel?". As I was walking past her she swung around with that massive cape and completely engulfed me in it. I started laughing, she started laughing, the chauffeur started laughing, and she withdrew the cape from my person so I could continue on up the street.

I looked it up after somone mentioned it here. He mentioned that he did some godawful movie with Dunaway (he didn't say godawful). He said that she's a legend and one should stay out of her way. He mentioned how she'd have to be drawn out of her trailer. She'd fix herself in the mirror forever otherwise. The director came to her once and told her that the sunlight would bathe her in the perfect glow... for the next five minutes, but beyond then... Jerry said Faye raced out her trailer and made it to set like she was the Road Runner.

It was "Midnight Bayou". My have the mighty have fallen, not even a "And Faye Dunaway" in the promotional material. At least the check cleared.

Sounds implausible. Since he would also have had to pay his wife -- the fair Rebecca -- to have sex with a man.

I think Jerry is so "bubbly" because he's high 24/7.

Today was Jerry's last day of his 3 week trial run and he had a mystery guest come out.... Wendy! It was a nauseating kiss fest from Jerry - he went into hyper brown nose mode. I eye-rolled very hard when Jerry called her "the legend" as they went to commercial break. He showed no shame with the groveling and sucking up he did - he must want that job bad but have some self respect, dude.

They sat on the chairs like they were interviewing each other, and threw compliments back and forth, making sure to remind us that Wendy is back on 9/16. Wendy would not say 100% that he is being renewed, but said it's up to the powers that be, but she loves him on the show. She related that she heard Jerry say that he wanted to cover the Lori Loughlin case, and she wanted to let him know that it's gonna happen when the new season starts. So more Jerry, as Wendy's sidekick?

R85 I am pretty sure Jerry's show is shot in her studio (while her show is on hiatus). Of course it's the same production company (with her as EP too) anyway. So Jerry's show was probably not very expensive to produce. But talk shows are never expensive anyway and they never seem to last. So I wonder if they will pick it up.

One mistake I think they made was being too similar to Wendy's show. Down to the exact same setup, structure, segments, camerawork, and presentation style (in a way). The problem with this is that Wendy's show is actually quite messy and not really the best 'formula', she was lucky to stay consistent with it and keep it going all these years. I don't know that having a carbon copy with a more extra (white male) host is the best idea.

Wendy is squeaking by with a roster of D-list guests, and I have no expectation that if Jerry got his own show it would do much better. He had his wife and Peter Facinelli(!) on, and was salty that Ja Rule bailed on him last week. I would cut my losses.

Wendy's show has gotten way too ghetto.
