Have we ever had a thread on this crazy bitch? She makes Patsy Ramsey look like Donna Reed.
Diane Downs

Farrah did a decent job portraying her in the made for TV bio. Diane Downs was a complete monster.

They called her the British Monroe.

The shooting happened a 10-15 minute drive from where I grew up. I was friends with the son of the surgeon who worked on the kids. Those poor kids had their lives ruined because mom wanted some dick.

What is R2 talking about? She’s from Arizona.
The two surviving kids were adopted by the prosecutor and his wife and don’t do interviews. They apparently don’t even want anything to do with the now-grown daughter Diane was pregnant with during the trial.

You can see snippets of the (numerous) interviews she gave on YouTube. Dead eyes. No affection for those children at all. Or for anyone not named Diane Downs.

OP should Google Marybeth Tinning

why the sudden interest. Something caused me to watch small sacrifices last night.
She still denies it.

I just happened upon a podcast episode about her today (I listen to a lot of true crime podcasts). I have vague memories of the TV movie as a child but didn’t really know anything about it back then. I found the movie on YouTube and watched it. The woman was a sociopath if there ever was one.

I can't hear "Hungry Like the Wolf" without thinking of Diane.

Here’s a compilation of all her interviews, including her reenactment of the “attack,” just weeks after, where she cracks jokes and generally seems to be having a marvelous time.

I read the book when it came out. Anne Rule was one of the best, if not the best, of true crime writers. She captured Downs's sick pathology expertly. Fascinating book.

If Ann Rule was still alive, she could make a good living going to cities with good-sized male populations and holding "An Evening With Ann Rule" nights at local theaters. She was a fine reporter and she had the JUICE on so many of these crazy creepy true-crime stories.

^ good-sized GAY male populations

R2 is thinking of British bombshell Diana Dors.

I’m sorry, but why wasn’t she believed? The reasoning the police gave seems flimsy and I can’t believe a mother would do this to her own children. Her story sounds perfectly reasonable.
It sounds like the police just thought she was a “slut” and decided to brand her a murderer.

R15, Read Anne Rule's book "Small Sacrifice" and you will learn about true evil. The woman is a psychopath. The kids got in the way of her relationship with a new lover.

Ann Rule had quite a few people to write about. Sadly, the PNW had a bunch of loonies.

r15. Bullets found in her house came out of the same gun that shot the kids. They never found the murder weapon but she had the same type of gun which she denied was in her possession. Also her oldest daughter took the stand and said she did it.
