OP, I love both Warren and Bernie, but I don't see a Bernie/Warren ticket in the future. I don't see why either of them would be interested in the Veep slot. While they're both in great shape (have you seen Liz running through that train station without losing her breath?) neither is a spring chicken. You only take the Veep slot if you have higher ambitions. And there is no WAY Bernie is going to be running for President in eight years. And Liz would be closing in on at 80 at that stage herself.

I think that if Bernie wins the nom he's likely to pick a younger woman of color, like Stacey Abrams. And if Warren wins the nom, she's likely to pick a younger man of color, like Julian Castro or Corey Booker.

Neither of them be interested in giving the other the VP slot, r20, since, as you correctly note, there is a lot of political calculation that goes into that selection, none of which favors a Sanders/Warren or Warren/Sanders ticket.
