I had some hot times off of Craigslist in my city. Where did all those sluts go?
What replaced Craigslist for sex?

My right hand. Occasionally my left.

Doublelist sucks. Phone required. Kicks you off after 5 minutes so have to keep signing in. Sex for those of us without 6 packs died with Craigslist. Well at least had a good run. Maybe I’ll take up a hobby.

So the Fed could make a law to "protect children from sex trafficking" so broad that it killed off the fun parts of CL, but they still can't find those migrant children that the Trump Admin sent off with unvetted adults? What was that stupid law really about cause we know the Fed doesn't give a damn about protecting children from the creeps.

So, we are to believe that your brain generates sufficient power to keep you alive, get you out of bed in the morning, and start this thread, but you have no idea at all what replaced Craigslist for sex?
You've never heard of anything that has replaced craigslist for hooking up. Nothing. Zilch. Nada.

R5, Have you checked out the other social sites on CL? Plenty of explicit ads on Vegas CL between the group and other activities, although not as many as before the change. (By the way I was seeking a hiking & camping group.)

r4 it was about shutting down the rentboy/ porn sites and Craigslist personals. The whole "sex trafficking" angle is just for soundbites.

Really nothing, OP. Craigslist was unique. Doublelist really replaced Backpage. Craigslist was different than those (and other hookup sites) because Craigslist was a general classified site rather than a site devoted just to sex. And that makes a difference in the type of people that will go on it.

Doublelist is the same 5 people over and over again. And when you sign in, it constantly sends you to other sites.

Man, CL was like mining for gold. You had a lot of unfortunate people on there every day, but when you snagged a good one, it was great. I miss the anticipation of the email response (hitting that refresh 10 times). I'd even go back to the typical response for stats and negotiations for pictures (are you discrete, blah, blah, blah). Then when you seal the deal and get an address (rarely a phone number). Get the job done and move on with your life. I scored some legit 8-9s (on my scale) off of CL. Always slightly nervous, publicly straight men, that were shocked at my forwardness (I started using CL for hookups at 16) but ready to get their rocks off. I swear I got laid more often in HS, thanks for CL, than I ever had in college.
I suppose stories like mine are the reason they closed the page. I could have been abducted or killed by one of my hookups.

Good summary R10. It really was a uniquely productive venue for hookups. Better than any of the apps - or bars. Anonymity and discretion were key. Doublelist just doesn’t do it.

If one child was saved, it was worth it.

CL was awesome for having a night of fun hotel sex with a traveling straight guy away from the wife and kids who was out of town the next day.

Especially in that dangerous "baby clothes for sale" CL section.

r15 those types were simply the best. I will give a shout out to Grindr in this regard. When I'm at a real vacation resort, Grindr can get you the same type of fun. Bored husband or father, that can sneak away from his family for some fun in your room. I also caught a guy during a work conference that was attending a wedding in the other ball room. We chatted all night on Grindr then he met in my room. He was so sweaty from hours of dancing, but it was a fun hookup.
