They are a bunch of hypocrites that used the debt and decific to bludgeon a Democratic president but now that their Lord and Saviour Trumpus Christi is in power, reveal that they never really gave a damn.
Saying rethugs are hypocrites is like announcing that the sun will rise in the east.

Republicans are hypocrites about just about everything, if abortion become illegal in the US and any of these conservative hypocrites daughter gets knocked up they will be on the first airplane to any location where abortion is legal.
They say Democratic are racists because democrats started the KKK, but what they fail to mention is that it was southern conservative Democrats that started the KKK and today those southern conservatives are Republicans.
Republicans love to demand freedom of religion, but only the Christian religion, any other religion they are against or even no religion.

[quote]Why don’t Republicans talk about the federal debt anymore?
Because it would require them to raise taxes, and they were hired to cut them. Tax cuts are the only principle upon which the Republicans remain firm — because corporate predators hired all their congressmen and paid for the ads their gullible rubes buy into.
They would have to admit that Reaganomics is a lie and cut spending for the military and welfare, that their pig hypocrite supporters depend on.

They'd could cut Medicare, but they know they get voted out of office when they do that.
So just put everything on credit cards and force your grandchildren's children to pay quintuple for the military, Medicare and tax cuts you consume. PIGS ENDANGERING AMERICA

The GOP completely understands that government stimulus improves the economy. They make a huge fuss about how stimulus does nothing whenever a Dem is president but say nothing when a Republican is president and keeps busting the budget.
The tax cut and previous budget, together, are adding $1 trillion to the deficit yearly, while the rich are raking it all in.

The biggest costs of Medicare and Defense, but both had huge defenders. So Congress pretends its doing something major when it says "We will shrink the size if government!"
It actually fiddles with the 6% of the budget like government worker salaries.

As long as their rich donor are making money off government funds, the GOP doesn't care. It knows a Dem President will come in sooner or later and have to raise taxes (and take all the blame)

I'm reading a political history/biography (non fiction) that takes place in the late 40's right after WW II and the early days of the Red Scare. I was absolutely amazed at how similar the issues a re. The Conservatives had the exact same agenda. Hated NATO, heavily into voter suppression tactics, dirty underhanded political games writing fake, misleading legislation, manipulating people, dividing, spreading fear and working to advance the interests of Big Business. Ugly people. At the time these were Southern Demomcrats, but the agenda was identical to today's Republicans. It is the Conservatives regardless of party.

When Lyndon Johnson signed the civil rights legislation he famously said he was giving the South to the Republicans.

The Libertarian-type Republicans still care. Especially when it gives them a chance to screw over 9/11 survivors.

They don't care. They all voted for the GOP Tax Law which increases the deficit by $1.5 trillion. the GOP kept saying the lie that economy would pay for it, when no economist agreed at all. Turns out, the economists were right.
