I'm a fan of the original film and I have a good feeling about this.
I had no idea this was happening. I enjoyed the first movie but I still need to see the other 2. The first story was the only one that slightly creeped me out.

R1,:Creepshow 2 is pretty fun but if I were you, I would avoid the 3rd.

R2 I feel like this gets said about most horror franchises đ
by Anonymous | reply 3 | July 21, 2019 1:14 PM |
Gray Matter was kind of dumb. House of the Head was creepy though.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | September 29, 2019 4:12 PM |
Interesting, r4. Most of the comments Iâve seen on horror boards have said the reverse. Iâm hoping to check it out tonight.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | September 29, 2019 5:41 PM |
Grey Matter was good but it had a real âwhat the fuck?â ending Like on the level of ITâs ending, thatâs how out there it was.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | September 29, 2019 6:34 PM |
That's because it was written by Stephen King. His endings suck.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | September 29, 2019 7:08 PM |
So it's hit and miss??

Well, it's the end of September. Where is this show?
by Anonymous | reply 9 | September 30, 2019 3:35 AM |
I enjoyed it but Gray Matter just wasn't my thing. I prefer the subtle weirdness of House of the Head. I kept expecting that severed head to show up in Evie's real house and do the same thing it did to the dolls.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | September 30, 2019 3:40 AM |
WHERE IS THIS SHOW?
by Anonymous | reply 11 | September 30, 2019 3:55 AM |
Shudder on Amazon Prime.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | September 30, 2019 4:01 AM |
Looks good
by Anonymous | reply 13 | September 30, 2019 4:05 AM |
Loved the original. Still a favored horror film of mine. And loved seeing all the Romero alumni background actors from his previous movies like Dawn if the Dead and Martin.
Part 2 wasnât bad. But was so rushed. The two strongest were The Raft segment (with the incredibly hot Paul Satterfield in a yellow speedo) and The Hitchhiker segment. Old chief woodenhead was creepy but meh.
Part 3. No comment. Well, one: trash.
The trailer looks interesting, but it doesnât FEEL like a comic book homage like Creepshow 1982.
I think the 1980s series Tales from the Crypt and even moreso the two UK Amicus Film Productions of Tales from the Crypt and Vault of Horror feel more like the stories from those old comics. By that I mean the flow and dialog. Gave just enough to create a small story and move it along to the surprise ending (those old comics Vault and Tales used the â!â liberallyâbehind 95% of the sentences).
I think what helped those movies as well as Creepshow 1, was that the performances from the old actors in each segment were hammy and tongue in cheek. The movies (Tales, Vault and Creepshow 1982) didnât take themselves too seriously.
Canât say the same for part 2, and it seems like the new series will come off preachy or too serious or stylized like Walking Dead since nicotero is involved in this too.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | September 30, 2019 4:29 AM |
I really enjoyed it. Got Shudder just to see it. Been so pissed at the new American Horror Story. Each season gets worse. Creepshow actually tries to be scary.

by Anonymous | reply 16 | September 30, 2019 1:16 PM |
Shudder is realeasing one episode a week so you have to wait to get the free trial to binge all.

It's only 5 bucks on Amazon streaming channels. That's how I get mine. It's just horror movies.

by Anonymous | reply 19 | September 30, 2019 5:17 PM |
The best thing about Grey Matter involved the Easter Eggs to other King movies but The House Of The Head was sublimely creepy.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | September 30, 2019 6:31 PM |
The House of the Head is by Josh Malerman who also wrote Bird Box.

All the episode titles for this season.
Gray Matter by Stephen King
By the Silver Water of Lake Champlain by Joe Hill

I loved House of the Head but feel it really should have gone THAT far and have the little girl's parents decapitated.
Also, give Adrienne Barbeau an Emmy already.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | October 1, 2019 2:36 PM |
Shudder is the new streaming service owned by AMC, of WALKING DEAD FAME, who lended Greg Nicotero to this new CREEPSHOW series.
It's like $5 monthly for a standalone website subscription, which you can also play on an app for your phone. I subscribed just for this show and I will cancel after it ends.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | October 4, 2019 5:14 AM |
So far, I find the series pretty lightweight. Even moreso than the original films.
I enjoyed "The Finger" the best, because of its humorous moments. I absolutely LOVE the 3D-ification of the CREEPSHOW comic look in the opening credits.
Part of me finds the return to old-school, practical effects and makeup charming, like ASH VS. THE EVIL DEAD. But the other part of me knows IT LOOKS FUCKIN' FAKE. The children are not going to like it.
Thanks for the ride, lady!

Is anyone still watching the show?
by Anonymous | reply 26 | October 4, 2019 5:25 PM |
So this is not part of Amazon prime? What a flop. Nobody is going to subscribe to some 3rd rate streaming service just for this show.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | October 4, 2019 5:32 PM |
You can subscribe through Amazon, r27, just like you can buy most shows on Amazon.
But itâs owned by AMC, so you can buy from their website or app as well. Either way, you have to subscribe to their additional, $5 per month.
The subscription is not included with Amazon Prime.

Todayâs Episode 3 was FABULOUS!
BEST. EVER.
âAll Hallowâs Eveâ was nât mind-blowing. But it had some touching moments between the brothers.
And âMan in the Suitcaseâ was hilarious! Allegory for the pothead set.

I must admit I liked the first episode (a horror version of Jumanji) of Into The Dark's second season better than any of the Creepshow episodes so far.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | October 11, 2019 6:22 AM |
I didn't like the second episode though the end was satisfying. I'm sensitive to people being tortured so I FF through most of it.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | October 11, 2019 6:23 AM |
I agree, it's going to be a pain in the ass subscribing to a hundred different streaming services now.
But a good show Shudder has going for it besides CREEPSHOW is ELI ROTH'S HISTORY OF HORROR from last year. It's a cool show with interviews from all the big players and filmmakers of the classic shows. Perfect for Halloween.

This sounds excellent. I loved the movies so Iâm going to binge this whole series on Halloween night.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | October 12, 2019 12:59 AM |
They didn't release the whole season at once, only one a week. The whole season might not be ready to binge then. How many episodes are there and what are they up to?
by Anonymous | reply 35 | October 12, 2019 1:29 AM |
This season only has 6 episodes, two stories each and it ends on Halloween.
r34 is probably waiting to binge on Halloween so that he can get the free, 7-day trial, watch the whole series, and then cancel without paying a penny.
That's the frugal move. But I paid the $6 to support these horror icons getting more work. Adrienne Barbeau, Greg Nicotero, Tom Savini, Tobin Bell, David Arquette, etc.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | October 12, 2019 3:55 AM |
It has alot of good horror movies on Shudder. Worth 5 bucks. But I love horror movies. Creepshow has been awesome. Perfect for October. Watch Monster Party. Really enjoyed it.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | October 14, 2019 1:13 AM |
Except Stephen King none of the greats are working behind the scenes. Wes Craven and George Romero are dead. Roth has the talent but he has made only 1 or two movies that are good. I may never forgive him for stripping the little girl from Welcome to the Dollhouse hanging her upside down and gutting her like a pig.
I only watched 2 episodes so far and wasnât impressed.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | October 14, 2019 2:14 AM |
Jason Blum is working behind-the-scenes. James Cameron, Gale Anne Hurd and Ridley Scott are still working. Roth is still working -- and if he's not directing a good horror film, he's producing one. Likewise Sam Raimi â you really should see CRAWL. It's scary. Dario Argento is still working. Greg Nicotero is still working. David Fincher is still working. Clive Barker is still working. Takashi Miike and Hideo Nakata are still working. Ari Aster is working. Jordan Peele is working. Alexandre Aja and Guillermo Del Toro are still working. The Duffer Brothers have one of the biggest shows in television.
r39 either needs to Get Out more, or get the fuck outta here!

Does Shudder have much to offer beyond Creepshow?
by Anonymous | reply 44 | October 14, 2019 5:22 PM |
It seems like a lot of content â some great classics like half the HALLOWEENS, NOSFERATU, MANIAC. HELLRAISER, NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD, BLACK CHRISTMAS.
TRAIN TO BUSAN, THE LOVE WITCH and STRANGER BY THE LAKE are all good. They even have a "Queer Horror" collection.
For TV series, they have that Eli Roth HISTORY OF HORROR documentary that I like and Zachary Quinto's new vampire show NOS4A2. Apparently, somebody made TV shows out of both CRITTERS and WOLF CREEK!
But most of the content seems like cheap, direct-to-video stuff you would find on Netflix. As a subsidiary of AMC, I'm shocked THE WALKING DEAD isn't made available.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | October 14, 2019 6:33 PM |
Wolf Creek is awesome!
by Anonymous | reply 46 | October 14, 2019 6:43 PM |
One of the great things about Wolf Creek is the reversal of the usual horror trope. The final girl pursues the man who killed her family across the Australian outback.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | October 14, 2019 6:54 PM |
Shudder also has a hilarious series TODD AND THE BOOK OF PURE EVIL.
I was a fan of DEATHGASM, so I threw this on for shits and giggles. It's really delivering!
by Anonymous | reply 48 | October 14, 2019 7:34 PM |
Episode 4 was good. Iâd say itâs the scariest so far.
One problem with âThe Companionâ is that itâs extremely similar to a vignette from this summerâs âScary Stories to Tell in the Dark.â
Both shows feature a creepy scarecrow monster who terrorizes the Childhood Bully.
But I think âThe Companionâ is the better short. Itâs shot exquisitely, it has very rich production values and a much darker ending.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | October 18, 2019 10:31 PM |
I think The Companionâs face design looks a lot like âThe Space Jockeyâ from Alien.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | October 18, 2019 10:43 PM |
Episode 4âs second short, âLydia Laneâs Better Halfâ also seems too close to another show: ââThe Hitchhikerâ from Creepshow 2.
Both shorts are about an affluent lady who commits manslaughter then tries to cover it up, but the corpse wonât let her. âLydiaâ does an adequate job, but maybe Creepshow is repeating itself!
by Anonymous | reply 51 | October 18, 2019 11:04 PM |
The Scary Stories To Tell movie was so fucking boring.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | October 19, 2019 3:29 AM |
It was kidsâ stuff, for sure.
The new Creepshow feels like that in a lot of places. But thereâs enough pothead humor to make it worthwhile.

Did someone say Shudder had a gay category? If so I canât find it.
How do we feel about the new season of Room 109 ? I liked the one with the evil doctor planting an alien inside unknowing patient.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | October 20, 2019 6:32 AM |
This weekâs 104 was weird. I wondered if it was just to give a Duplass friends break. Next weekâs does not look good at all
Even though I didntlike the ending recent Into The Dark has them all beat.
I quit watching Creepshow after 3rd but Iâm still glad I joined Shudder.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | October 20, 2019 4:42 PM |
Yes, I linked Shudder's "Queer Horror" category above already.
I can vouch for STRANGER BY THE LAKE -- it was an award-winning, internationally renowned film with lots of graphic sex the porn pigs will lerve.
You've probably already seen HELLRAISER. I don't love the franchise, but it's visually spectacular / revolting.
I saw KNIFE + HEART in the theater -- pretty cheap and ho-hum. Not much action or thrills. It feels more like female poetry.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | October 20, 2019 5:35 PM |
Yeah, I saw it kinda admired it didnât really like it. A movie about porn should have loads of nudity Iâm sure actors are standing around the set nude for no reason at all. Yes Iâm talking to you The Deuce.
I also saw Stranger By The Lake. Sorry do not like a movie with a gay couple who doesnât break up because one of them is a serial killer. Though not a scary movie I liked Paris 05:59. Much much better.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | October 20, 2019 10:50 PM |

There is not one single frame in this entire series with "rich production values."
by Anonymous | reply 59 | October 22, 2019 5:40 AM |
Nah, the farmhouse and Companion sequence looked great. Great, creepy cinematography.
And the opening titles of the show are AWESOME -- 2-D comic book animation textured and made 3-D. Fabulous!
by Anonymous | reply 60 | October 22, 2019 5:10 PM |
Episode 5 was good. The standout was "Night of the Paw," a rehash or spin on the old "Monkey's Paw" legend.
HOTTEST GUYS IN THIS EPISODE! There's a super hot guy who plays a zombie husband of the girl in "Night of the Paw." Cute blond guy and you see his backside when he rises to eat his wife's face off.
Also, the son of the original mayor in "Times is Tough in Musky Holler" is the second hottest guy to appear in the show. Co-stars David Arquette of SCREAM fame.
I wish imdb had their credits updated so I could look up these very hot guys. .CREEPSHOW still doesn't have the beefcake magnitude of the good ol' days, however ...
by Anonymous | reply 61 | October 25, 2019 5:55 PM |
Also, props to the arresting officer in "Musky Holler" for her "Poof! Begone!" joke.
It warmed the cockles of my Ricki Lake-bred heart.

Shudder is terrific, well worth your money.
by Anonymous | reply 63 | October 25, 2019 6:14 PM |
Shudder is definitely worth the money. One of my favorite streaming channels. They have a lot of great stuff from the 70's and 80's that I never got around to seeing before the video stores closed. Many were on my list, but I never got around to them and buying them outright before seeing them always struck me as a silly thing to do, so it's nice to have many of them available like this. I watched a great movie called Brain Damage last month from the guy who made Basket Case. I'd always wanted to see it, but never felt like buying it.
Creepshow has always been one of my favorite movies, but the series isn't quite getting that tone right. I've only seen the first 2 episodes, though, so maybe it gets better. I don't hate it. It's passable entertainment, but it's not striking me as very Creepshow-ish.
by Anonymous | reply 64 | October 25, 2019 6:59 PM |
The TV show is a mixed bag. There are definitely a couple of entries worth watching.
It's always supposed to be a comic book for kids; I just feel like the '80s movies had enough sex, violence and nudity to make it more adult.
I get the feeling they didn't need an entire TV series for this. Just 3 of their best shorts again would have been a great movie.
by Anonymous | reply 65 | October 25, 2019 7:57 PM |
Lots of cute unknown actors in this Creepshow series. The show has more hits than misses so far. My favorites have been the first segment with Barbeau, The Man in the Suitcase was phenomenal, The Finger with the pet xenomorph, and the werewolf episode with the Nazis. The other eps were weaker in terms of story but had excellent visuals, especially the one with the scarecrow. Amazing effects and cinematography make up for a somewhat confusing storyline.
by Anonymous | reply 66 | October 27, 2019 8:03 PM |
Joe Bob Briggs is on Shudder as well and he's a lot of fun. Definitely brings back memories of watching horror movies on late night cable. A lot of the movies really benefit from his commentary as well.
by Anonymous | reply 67 | October 27, 2019 8:06 PM |
My favorite is probably The Man in the Suitcase for the humor and moral. The Monkey's Paw riff is probably my favorite of the creepier ones.
by Anonymous | reply 68 | October 28, 2019 4:46 PM |
All the episodes have dropped now, and I have to say they saved some of the best for last. Episode 6 has two highly predictable but nonetheless entertaining creatue features with the hottest guys of the show!
Skincrawlers is more social satire mixed with gore for the pothead set. "Lake Champlain" is an American Loch Ness monster story where the bully gets devoured again.
Both of these shorts continue this show's tradition of using pretty good-looking puppets. Fans of practical effects will love it.
by Anonymous | reply 69 | October 31, 2019 7:56 PM |
Besides a hot swimsuit model, "Skincrawlers" features the super hot Chad Michael Collins as Dr. Sloane.
by Anonymous | reply 70 | October 31, 2019 8:01 PM |
Another hottie named James Devoti plays the very Stephen King-esque Abusive Stepfather Figure in "Lake Champlain."
by Anonymous | reply 71 | October 31, 2019 8:03 PM |
Connor Jones is also a cute love interest in "Lake Champlain."
It was directed by Tom Savini.

I hope they do another season. Loved it.
by Anonymous | reply 73 | November 1, 2019 1:55 AM |
Well, I think I'm good on the new iteration of Creepshow. Points for the effort.
But honestly, it doesn't have the sex, violence and edge the originals had. It's a kids show/family show, for the most part. And they need to stick to the feature film format. Less is more -- especially if they're recycling some of their previous ideas.
by Anonymous | reply 74 | November 1, 2019 3:00 AM |
I just finished the series and was let down. Agree with r74- it was more like a family horror show. The animated creeper before each episode was the best part.
The man in the suitcase was my favorite episode. But there were a lot of forgettable ones.
Iâll give it a C grade.
by Anonymous | reply 75 | November 1, 2019 3:27 AM |
I think they were going the route of Stranger Things.

I discovered Brain Damage last year. Cheesy effects but still a decent movie.
by Anonymous | reply 77 | November 1, 2019 7:29 AM |
Only two segments featured under age characters and even those contained extreme gore, so calling it a family show is quite a stretch.
by Anonymous | reply 78 | November 1, 2019 5:12 PM |
A little girl gets killed on screen. This show is definitely not for kids.
by Anonymous | reply 79 | November 1, 2019 5:13 PM |
It is odd how there's definitely no shortage of gore, but it does feel a lot more Goosebumps than Creepshow. Something about the tone is way too light. It's not like the Creepshow movies were gritty like Last House on the Left or something, but they felt a little more mature and creepy at times. Even Tales From the Darkside (which began as Creepshow: The Series) had a much darker feel without using any gore whatsoever.
by Anonymous | reply 80 | November 1, 2019 5:17 PM |
I also see no problem if more mature kids wanted to see this show as the horror comics themselves are how many young people were introduced to horror. The show has the right tone and a number of great episodes. Hope it comes back.
by Anonymous | reply 81 | November 1, 2019 5:18 PM |
A kids' show or family show doesn't have to have child actors, r78.
It's all about tone and content. PEE WEE'S PLAYHOUSE didn't have any child actors.
by Anonymous | reply 82 | November 1, 2019 5:25 PM |
And why do you think it's a comic book selling toys where the host refers to the audience as "kiddies?"
Because CREEPSHOW has always been aimed at an audience of minors. The problem is, it had a lot more edge in the '80s and seemed to appeal more to teenagers with the sex, violence and R ratings. This 2019 TV show just doesn't have that edge.
by Anonymous | reply 83 | November 1, 2019 5:28 PM |
R83 I don't necessarily disagree. Lake Champlain in particular wouldn't felt out of place on Are You Afraid of the Dark, which is quit surprising given that Tom Savini directed it. Skincrawlers, on the other hand, could have been a segment in one of the movies.
by Anonymous | reply 84 | November 1, 2019 5:35 PM |
Well, I finally gave in to morbid curiosity and watched CREEPSHOW 3 to bide my quarantine.
WHAT AN ABORTION.
I didn't even know it existed until last year. It was completely cheap; completely unbelievable. If you're going to have a fantastic premise, the actions and reactions of the people in them still have to be realistic.
This was a shitshow where nerds suspecting a woman of being an android don't stop mutilating her after they draw first blood.
It looks like crap. It tries to be both scary and funny but it's neither. It doesn't even look like a horror film â everything is shot in broad daylight or high-key lighting. Just GARBAGE.
The 2019 series is a hundred times better, even though it's a softer CREEPSHOW for youngsters.
