Not really.

One of the lead actors quit acting and joined the military, another didn't want to act anymore and turned to music. It was never supposed to be a huge big budget film filled with stars so what you got were a bunch of random actors who weren't necessarily ever going to make it big.

Some of the cast were older actors who had been acting for years in character roles or younger ones deciding what they wanted to do. Once it was done those character actors kept acting. The kids moved on in various directions.

The directors, writer, etc. also all kept working. Harmony Korine went on to write "Spring Breakers," one of the directors Edward Lachman switched to cinematography and eventually did "Carol." Only a couple of them fell off the face of the planet and two of them were the youngest ones.

James is just the one that made it "big." The odds of that are no different than most movies with mostly unknowns in the cast.
