Fantasia. Saw it on a double bill with Up in Smoke.

by Anonymousreply 16July 13, 2019 8:36 PM

Belladonna of Sadness. Caught it on TCM one night while I was high, amazingly weird movie. Highly recommend it.

Another great 70s movie from Japan...even if you aren't high while watching it, you will think you are. It's a trip.

by Anonymousreply 34July 14, 2019 6:24 AM

R34 I have a feeling it would be a different story with acid involved.

by Anonymousreply 35July 14, 2019 7:46 AM

The last time I was smoking pot a lot. YEARS ago. There was a sort of documentary movie based on the book of a man who lost his sight in an NYC mugging in the 70s and he'd traveled the world (after he lost his sight)...it was all sorts of imagery with his real voice narrating and used to run on one of the movie channels all the time.

The very stoned me was completely transfixed by it.

by Anonymousreply 36July 14, 2019 8:18 AM

Gimme Shelter

by Anonymousreply 37July 14, 2019 9:34 AM

I watched Mulholland Drive stoned out of my mind once, and it made 100% perfect sense to me during that viewing. I had never fully made sense of it prior while watching it completely unaltered. It really changed my perception of the whole movie.

by Anonymousreply 38July 14, 2019 10:02 AM

R37 really?

by Anonymousreply 39July 14, 2019 10:16 AM

All movies are better high.

by Anonymousreply 61July 15, 2019 12:56 AM

If you drink and smoke along with the characters while watching Absolutely Fabulous episodes, they're ridiculousness seems perfectly logical.

by Anonymousreply 72July 15, 2019 1:37 PM

R46 may actually win this competition. Never would I ever have thought of Jill and her periods. Good suggestion.

I will go with Ken Russell's version of Tchaikovsky's life, "The Music Lovers."

by Anonymousreply 85July 15, 2019 4:29 PM

by Anonymousreply 86July 18, 2019 2:54 AM

Gothic Melodrama - like What Ever Happened to Baby Jane, Sunset Boulevard, Douglas Sirk and Nick Ray movies, Film Noir, early gangster movies, 50s sci-fi.

by Anonymousreply 87July 18, 2019 2:59 AM

The first filming of Shirley Jackson's "The Haunting" with Claire Bloom and Julie Harris.

Hitchcock's "Vertigo" - it will finally make sense.

"Altered States"

A couple of Pressburger-Powell entries: "A Matter of Life and Death" and "Black Narcissus."

After all, why not enhance terror, too?

I'd suggest "Animal House" but I don't think it can be improved upon.

by Anonymousreply 88July 18, 2019 10:50 PM

"Victor/Victoria"

"Some Like it Hot" (for R15)

"The Belles of St. Trinians"

by Anonymousreply 89July 18, 2019 10:55 PM

Any and all David Lynch. The Twin Peaks pilot is especially cool. (And the 7th episode of Twin Peaks: The Return will blow your mind.)
