I really liked him as an actor, and I thought that he would have a really great career.
This makes me really sad.

by Anonymous | reply 27 | July 7, 2019 9:01 AM |
It wasn't necessarily seriously debilitating. Without more details we can't say for sure if it was a bad judgment call. I had a couple random seizures between the ages of 12 and 20. I was never alone when they hit (I had 5 in total) but in the wrong situation (driving, doing anything strenuous, etc) you could be SOL.
The first one got me out of Lunch Detention.

I’m so sorry for his family and loved ones.
I had a grand meal seizure 10 years ago as a result of prescribed drugs. Was being treated for severe intractable headaches and was over prescribed anti.- seizure meds and was taken off them too fast. The doctors told me I was lucky to be alive. Thankfully my boyfriend found me unconscious in the bathroom and I didn’t hit my head. Ambulance picked me up and I spent the night in the hospital. Official cause was medication “error” caused by incompetent prescribing.
I don’t want to speculate, but it isn’t hard to have seizures as a result of prescribed or illicit drugs.

R25, You have some weird angle here that's not making much sense. He had an ongoing illness, he was being treated, he went on and lived his life. This illness likely had no cure and was just something he was going to have to deal with.
Having roommates is actually a good thing because if something happens to you then someone will find you. Just because you could have a seizure at any moment and die doesn't mean you should spend the rest of your life up your parent's butts waiting for it to happen because it might not.

The illness he was battling could easily have been addiction. There's no reason to just assume it was a typical disease like epilepsy, or most likely they'd have been more specific. Either they knew he had an epileptic disorder and that he had one and that's why he died, even though presumably nobody would have witnessed it, and they remained intentionally vague, or there's more to this they aren't saying for some reason.
by Anonymous | reply 90 | July 7, 2019 5:39 PM |

Yup, young healthy men don't just keel over dead. I'd bet the farm he was being "treated" for addiction. God, i know this is a bitchy site but some of you are really disgusting.
I remember when Stephen Gately died and that bitch published the he died because he was a druggie and of course his lifestyle was terrible (yes, because he was gay) and them the autopsy said that he had a heart condition that caused the death (and he even had an uncle who died of the same disease). That fucking bitch never apologized.
Not everybody is a druggie on HW (in fact drugs are everywhere) and i think waiting a bit for the causes of the death is not going to kill you (maybe biting your tongue will do that job)
by Anonymous | reply 112 | July 7, 2019 6:53 PM |
Those of you accusing him of being a druggie are real jerks.
Not every actor in Hollywood does drugs, including the ones that die young.
By every account, Cameron was smart, well-adjusted, and beloved by his co-stars. NOT the trademark of a hard core drug user. He came from a very "normal" family, by ANYONE'S standards.
The fact that you are trying to smear his reputation with a drug overdose death, says more about YOU PEOPLE than it does about this kid.
His father is a social worker, and Cameron was involved in many humanitarian causes, including with Vice-President Joe Biden, and trying to bring clean drinking water to kids in Africa.
This is NOT the behavior of a drug abuser. Assholes.

Speculation and gossip is bad but natural. The current explanation seems to leave something out, hence the suspicion. Granted, no matter what that said would probably lead to some suspicion regardless, but in this case there seems to be a hole in the story. He was being treated for an illness (which is not described, had it been epilepsy they would have said it more directly, right?)- also epilepsy isn't something you are necessarily "treated" for, it's a lifelong condition while this explanation makes it sound like something more acute. Usually when young people die in their sleep from heart conditions and the like, nobody knows why and says as much. This explanation seems to be a deliberate one, as if they knew exactly what was going on.
by Anonymous | reply 128 | July 7, 2019 7:27 PM |

Top 5 causes of death for a 20-year-old in the US:
1. Trauma. 41% 2. Suicide. 18% 3. Homicide. 16% 4. Drugs/Alcohol. 15% 5. Cancer. 5%
Not saying it couldn’t be some other illness... but statistically speaking, it’s most likely one of these 5 causes, and drugs/alcohol is the only one that seems to fit the circumstances.

R148 but here's the thing. The statement given makes it clear it wasn't a heart condition. That would have been something they wouldn't know yet. They seemed to give a very deliberate and specific answer to his cause of death without saying anything. It's clear they know what happened, hence not a sudden heart thing.

My brother died of Sudden Death Epilepsy. At least, that was what doctors suspected following an autopsy. He had epilepsy and died immediately after a seizure. SDE is almost impossible to diagnose. At least it was in 1992, when my brother died. if Cameron had epilepsy, SDE might well be cause of his death.

R167 not saying it had to be drugs. Just based on the family's statement there are certain clues and am just extrapolating from there. They said he had a seizure from an ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated.
-Lack of specificity= (if it was epilepsy they'd say so, sounds like something is not being said here) -Ongoing medical condition= this was something they knew he had, which eliminates speculation about sudden aneurysms, undetected heart problems, or sudden epileptic death disorder. -For which he was being treated= implies it was a disease which you can be treated for rather than a congenital one. Also addiction is a disease and so cannot be ruled out, unlike what some are saying here when they say disease.
Based on the evidence, I feel it is most likely a case of addiction-related death being masked with unspecific terminology, hints of seizures and having a disease. He's a child star and so naturally they need to be very careful in disclosing something like addiction due to his audience, and they are clearly being careful here.
I could be totally wrong but I don't think, based on the evidence we have, what I'm saying is untoward or all that far off. Not sure what else would fit the parameters we are given. He looks like a nice kid so i certainly hope he wasn't struggling with addiction, but such speculation is not baseless.

The thing is... if it was natural causes... heart defect, stroke, seizure, etc., the family wouldn’t have any idea until after an autopsy and wouldn’t have commented.

It’s possible to have a seizure from disco-lights, while doing meth and being fisted.
by Anonymous | reply 202 | July 7, 2019 9:22 PM |
R197 it just seems natural if it was epilepsy they'd say so, rather than a vague statement including a seizure being involved. If what he was being treated for was epilepsy but led to a seizure, why not just say it? They are obviously linked, so it's not like they are keeping the secret he had epilepsy by only saying he had a seizure. Further, this would be a lifelong thing, people would have known about it, and we'd likely be hearing confirmation from people that he had epilepsy, maybe use this to bring attention to epilepsy itself.
I think it is clear they are dancing around whatever happened, which there'd be no reason to do if it was epilepsy or something related. It's not parsing words when they are so pregnant with meaning. Again, I in no way want it to have been addiction- he's dead either way but worse if he suffered in that way in the run up. I'm merely pondering the meaning of what is an objectively mysterious statement. Don't think publicists didn't write it.
by Anonymous | reply 203 | July 7, 2019 9:23 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 205 | July 7, 2019 9:29 PM |
R204 no......... Why are you being so irrational?? I'm not saying they should release medical records. I'm merely saying the statement was vaguely worded in a way which makes it sound like a cover up. If in days to come they announce it was sudden seizure death disorder then so be it, but why create this doubt with such a statement? It's written in a very deliberate manner but is so vague it looks like it's hiding something. If it turns out to have been epilepsy, it's quite reasonable to ask why they initially framed it as they have. Any publicist would see the room for speculation they were leaving, so why do it if it was something clear-cut and non-controversial like epilepsy?

Some of the reactions here are telling as to why families DO cover up drug abuse. They know that their child will be shamed for it. The posters on this thread refusing to even entertain the fact that this "nice, hard working, wonderful" guy could be an addict, have zero understanding of the disease. R235 - I’d normally agree with you for a regular person, but his death and the reasons why are our business (the public’s) since this kid was a “celebrity” and made money from his roles which the public ultimately pays for. r235, being that he was so young, they may want to curb public speculation that he was using drugs. Of course it is up to them, but that is one of the reasons families will reveal an illness. And also to increase awareness regarding that illness.

Where are you people getting the drug accusations from?
Nothing in his entire (short) history would even hint at drug abuse.
He was a free spirit, a kind soul, a philanthropist, and a volunteer. He also spent a great deal of time with his family, as shown by his, his father's, and his uncle's instagram accounts. There was no look of sadness or disapproval by any of his family members. It was all happiness and joy.
It disgusts me that you people are trying to smear this kid's image, with absolutely NO proof.
All of his friends, family, and the people who have worked with him have ONLY good things to say about him, and also comment on how he actually made them better people.

SUDEP is a risk factor anyone who has seizure disorder knows about.
Anyone who claims to “know” it’s drugs could only have such knowledge if they actually sold or provided drugs which led to his death, which of course is a felony. So, good job confessing your crime on a public forum.

r90 that's a good point about addiction being a disease which could be the illness he was battling. My cousin suffered from drug addiction and had a seizure at a Kroger's last summer due to all the drugs she was ingesting. There were medical personnel in the store that saved her life. I'm the main one who has been trying to put the pieces together on why he died based on the vague statement. It's amazing to see the way it is being received. I'm racist for speculating the vague 'he was being treated for an illness' could be addiction? Also don't tar me with the nonsense ideas like we are owed an exact explanation because he was famous. No, but the reality is people wonder when such a thing happens, and all I'm doing is trying to put the pieces together of the vague statement.
Had they stated he was being treated for epilepsy and died of a seizure, that would make sense and reduce the amount of speculation. There'd be no reason for me to try to piece it together. What you all seem to miss is just how vague it gets when you replace epilepsy with "being treated for an illness". This statement was obviously carefully crafted, and worded in a deliberate manner, which seems to point to certain things while ruling out others without saying anything exact. This is a bit of a mystery, and as happens at DL we are trying to figure it out.
If they had issued a more direct statement, we'd have an explanation (true or not) and there'd be no reason to decide it. However it was quite clearly written purposefully vague so naturally one wants to figure out why, regardless of who they were or their race or any other such nonsense you are accusing me of. If you can't see why this statement is cryptic, and that if epilepsy was the cause there'd be no reason to phrase it as such, then I can't help you.

A year before the Little Rock 9 integrated a public school in Arkansas, Jo Ann Boyce and 11 other black students integrated Clinton High School in Tennessee in 1956. Their enrollment into the high school was a direct result of the Brown vs. Board of Education Supreme Court decision in 1954, which reversed a previous lawsuit to desegregate Clinton High School that had been denied in the early 1950s.
Once they began attending Clinton, the students faced verbal and physical racism from classmates and community members. Of Jo Ann and the Clinton 12’s experience, Cameron told Dazed “She had to be so brave. She had to face death threats, berating and violence just to go to school. She’s a hero – they’re all heroes.”

I was the main one analyzing what happened based on the statement. It seems my interpretation was wrong, but I was far from the only one. A similar discussion unfolded on Reddit where people were sure based on the statement it was something drug related or else why the evasive language? Someone there said if it was indeed epilepsy the family should release another statement because that one was just bad and made it look like something it wasn't. Whatever his cause of death, that is a fact. How utterly tragic he died of something "natural" at that.

I'm R307 and have been doing a lot of the speculating here, but it was always taken directly from the statement and nothing else. In fact I didn't really know who he was at all until he died, though I recognize him from little things here and there but barely knew who he was or that he was half black. These constant chants of racism are really over the top, and further I know absolutely nothing about Justin Bieber's life nor have ever defended him. If the statement was about him instead I would have speculated exactly the same way. Looking at Cameron you wouldn't even know he's black, I certainly didn't. You are all trying to see something here which doesn't exist so please stop. He seems like a lovely person who I didn't know at all and it's terribly sad, I regret any besmirching of his name i may have done, but unlike some i never insisted he died of addiction, just that the vagueness of the statement seemed to leave room it was possible. If it was epilepsy, and that's now being confirmed, why leave it vague at first where things could be read into it? That's the only reason I had such speculation but I'll stand down now that they seem to have confirmed where it was.
I think it was revealing though that people got so angry at the idea that he possibly could have addiction, including saying he's a good kid from a good family. This is exactly why so many others don't admit addiction, the idea anyone who has it is bad, and an angel like Cam could never. It's the very reason why the vague statement made it seem like they were purposefully hiding something. Enjoy the victory lap, I certain would take no joy had I been right, but consider why your reasons for completely denying the fact a "medical condition" could have been addiction was problematic.
by Anonymous | reply 318 | July 8, 2019 10:14 PM |
R318 it's ghoulish to jump to conclusions so quickly. Have you ever lost someone young and close very unexpectedly? I have. I could barely function for the first week. Yes he had a "team" but they were likely close to him and deeply upset too. Going all True Detective on an initial statement is over the top. I guarantee you put more thought into the wording than whoever jotted it down and sent it out.
by Anonymous | reply 319 | July 8, 2019 10:20 PM |
Nah, it was a well written press release.
by Anonymous | reply 320 | July 8, 2019 10:23 PM |
R319 yes I probably did put more thought into the statement than his team did... but isn't that the problem? I know they are going through a difficult time but the notion someone jotted down a line or two and sent it out without thinking in regards to such a major unexpected thing which would definitely be question, just seems like malpractice despite the grief. It would be better to have waited than to jot down something vague and send it out without considering the meaning. It is not my fault for trying to figure out its opaque meaning. Had it said the illness he was being treated for for epilepsy is all it would have taken to preclude this. There's no reason not excuse to rush a statement. If they weren't ready, it's far better to say nothing. This is not criticism of his family but certainly someone on the PR team should have done something. I don't know what went behind the scenes or who this came from exactly or why it was worded like it is, but so be it..

by Anonymous | reply 324 | July 8, 2019 10:33 PM |
R322 I'm a man, but thanks.
R321 saying nothing is not an option with something like this. If they didn't get something official out, the news would have gotten somehow and the rumor mill would have its way. And a bad press release is not even close to malpractice.
by Anonymous | reply 325 | July 8, 2019 10:34 PM |
R323 their son was a widely known public figure. Seems to me it's important for his PR team to not make a vague statement about his death to avoid unfair rumors but i guess I'm deranged. Maybe they didn't realize what they said lined up exactly with a potential overdose, but that's the reason such statements should not be jotted down abruptly as implied. I can't imagine what they are going through and don't want to, but acting like it's absolutely ghoulish for one to speculate why a 20 year old died abruptly and to parse a vague statement for meaning is absurd. I'm being portrayed like a craven Hitler here when I was just trying to figure out what was meant. If it was more direct i never would have. I'm sorry for any pain this might have caused his family, but as for you fraus you don't have the right to be clutching your pearls over this. It is what it is, I'm sorry he died and sorry there was any misunderstanding about the cause but my reason for thinking it had nothing to do with him personally, as I didn't even really know who he was.
by Anonymous | reply 326 | July 8, 2019 10:38 PM |

People seem to think that those speculating about drug abuse want to drag him down posthumously, but I think it can be seen as resulting from almost the opposite impetus - a wish to make sense of his death. If it was drug-related, there's a certain tragic Hollywood glamour to it - an epilepsy-related death, on the other hand, is so banal, so devoid of meaning. Self-inflicted doom is romantic, the kind of death we think befits a beautiful rising star - a random illness is just depressing and absurd. In movie terms, a young life cut short by addiction is a classic Hollywood narrative - a sudden death by epileptic seizure, with zero foreshadowing for the "audience", is just a cruel trick played by a sadistic filmmaker.

r364 Roommate/BFF, as far as we know. The "you were the greatest thing to have ever happened to me" line did raise my eyebrows a bit, but given how much emotional distress he must be in, I can see him using language like that even if he was "just" his best friend.

1. The family of Cameron Boyce, at a time of great pain, stepped forward to confirm that he died of epilepsy. This hopefully will get the message through: Epilepsy kills many, many people through what is called SUDEP. And neurologists normally don't tell us it could happen....

Cameron, Karan, and Aramis were all the same age. Born in 1999. And it truly is sobering as a 19/20 year old, to come to the sudden realization that you could die without warning.
My best friend died at 30 and I was traumatized. I can only imagine what these kids are feeling.
I don't know if Cameron and Karan were a "thing," but I know that they've been BFF's since they were children on "Jessie." I guess being the same age and being on a hit Disney show, they really grew close. At least close enough to become roommates as adults.

Cameron Boyce's roommates speak out after his death: 'I don't think words will come for a while'
Disney Channel actor Cameron Boyce's friends, family and fans continue to mourn the 20-year-old's death. His roommates, "Jessie" co-star Karan Brar and actress Sophie Reynolds, are the latest to speak out.
Brar, who had known Boyce since the two first appeared on "Jessie" in 2011, broke his silence Tuesday, thanking those who sent him condolences.
"you were the greatest thing to have ever happened to me," Brar captioned an Instagram photo of Boyce. "i love you so much cam. wish i had more to say right now but i don't think words will come for a while. thank you to everyone who sent such kind words my way. know i haven't been responding but it truly means a lot."
The trio had been roommates since May and close friends for much longer, according to their Instagram posts.
Reynolds called Boyce "my family. my person. my heart" in a remembrance post Tuesday, sharing a photo of him hugging her.
"maybe someday I’ll be able to put everything cam was into words, but right now it just hurts a little too much," she wrote. "Please, hug everyone you love. I wish I could."
Boyce died Saturday after suffering a seizure related to an ongoing medical condition, according to ABC News, which is part of the Disney/ABC Television Group owned by the Walt Disney Company. Disney Channel confirmed his death to USA TODAY on Sunday morning.
Boyce was known for his roles on the Disney Channel's "Jessie," in which he played one of four wealthy, rambunctious children under the care of a new nanny, and the "Descendants" franchise, as the son of Cruella De Vil.
"It is with a profoundly heavy heart that we report that this morning we lost Cameron," the family told ABC. "He passed away in his sleep due to a seizure which was a result of an ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated.
"The world is now undoubtedly without one of its brightest lights, but his spirit will live on through the kindness and compassion of all who knew and loved him. We are utterly heartbroken and ask for privacy during this immensely difficult time as we grieve the loss of our precious son and brother."

I'm the main one who was reading into the statement and said it sounded like they were hiding something. Many people have been speculating on motive of people saying it was drugs, like we wanted to take him down a notch. I can only speak for myself but let me make it clear (again) it had nothing to do with that. I knew nothing about Cameron except vaguely recognizing him from Disney. He seems like a great kid, and I have no reason to think he had a drug habit- but mind you this crap about he couldn't have had one because he's a good kid is an insulting notion to all people with addiction problems, like that it's a moral failing. My speculation something was up was related to how the statement seemed to dance around the cause. If it was something non-controversial like epilepsy I feel like his friends would be making it into an awareness campaign. I'm not saying they should, or that the fact they aren't means it wasn't epilepsy... Anyway these are the reasons I speculated and it has nothing to do with Cameron.

You need to just drop it, R415. You're like a dog with a bone.
The only one reading anything into anything is you. It's so selfish to keep going on and on about people maligning drug abusers. No one here did that. They merely said that CAMERON didn't use drugs. YOU were the one reading into the comments.
I for one vehemently defended Cameron against the drug accusations because I know his history, his family background, his causes, and his friends. He was staunchly proud of his family background and the causes he championed, and this was the mark of a VERY sober mind.
In no way, shape, or form did I or anyone else here say that druggies are bad, horrible people. We merely stated that Cameron did not use drugs.
I think what's sadder than what you're ranting about, is the fact that anytime a young celebrity dies, people just jump to an automatic conclusion about that person.
If you don't know for sure, then don't try to tarnish someone's reputation before knowing any of the facts.
The family statement was that he died of a seizure. Why you people chose not to believe it was all about your own insecurities, and had nothing to do with Cameron's actual life.
by Anonymous | reply 416 | July 11, 2019 6:21 AM |

Debby Ryan Says She's 'Confused Devastated and Angry' Over Cameron Boyce's Death
Debby Ryan is speaking out for the first time since Cameron Boyce's death, saying she's "confused and devastated and angry."
The actress, who starred with Boyce on the Disney Chanel series "Jessie," opened up about his passing on Instagram last night. Sharing several snaps of them together, she began her tribute saying the 20-year-old's death "ripped me up" and adding, "I keep trying and I can’t make anything make sense."
Ryan continued her heartbreaking message, describing Boyce as "blameless and relentlessly joyful; he was good." Ryan emphasized "through and through, Cam is good, in all ways and to all people. And the most alive." "It’s wrong. I am so confused and devastated and angry," she says of her feelings.
The actress then turns the focus to changing her attitude towards his death, saying her negativity over the circumstance "isn’t very Cam." "He’d cast any shade of sadness or darkness in colors of positivity; he couldn’t help himself but to always leave you smiling, or laughing, or dancing," Ryan writes. "So sincere, kid Truth. He was good." Thinking of his family, she adds her "heart is with his parents, Vic and Libby, full of grace, and his wonderful sister Maya. An unimaginable sorrow."
Ryan's not the only co-star to break down over the death of Boyce. His "Descendants" castmate Dove Cameron posted a tearful tribute to the star and read a letter she wrote about his death.
As The Blast reported, Boyce died on Saturday at his home in Los Angeles. At the time, his family released a statement and revealed he suffered from a seizure, but The Blast has learned he also quietly suffered from epilepsy.
Law enforcement sources told us that Boyce had a history of epileptic seizures, and his family relayed that information to investigators after the young star died.
Boyce's official cause of death has not been determined, as officials need to run toxicology tests following his autopsy.
Ryan says she's grateful for her tv family "with whom to uniquely grieve our guy — Peyton, Skai, Kevin and Karan, whose soul is also far too special to have to experience this depth of grief." Adding, "There are beautiful connections and beams of light, ever present, truly the fingerprints of Cam still around and showing up in the midst of this. I love him so much. Forever."
Ending her post, Ryan says a sweet goodbye to her friend. "You’re alive in the legacy of love you built, and I will keep that light burning in me for the rest of my journey. The world was robbed. We’re better for you," she wrote.
This comes just days after she posted a heartbreaking video of them from the Disney show, without any caption by a broken heart.

Days after Cameron Boyce‘s tragic death, his sister is speaking out about the loss of her brother and best friend.
In an emotional Instagram tribute on Thursday, Maya Boyce shared photos of Cameron captured throughout his life alongside a lengthy and heartfelt statement.
“Yes, he died. Yes, I’m sad. Cameron was my best friend. He is someone I will always idolize. His smile could light up a room, unlike anyone else’s,” Maya, 17, began the post.
“He was perfect. He always said that if you have a voice, you have the privilege of using that voice for change, and he did not take that idea lightly. He understood his responsibility as someone so many kids would look up to,” she continued. “Cameron always went out of his way to be giving and kind.”
Maya noted that Cameron, who was best known for his role as Cruella de Vil’s son in the Descendants TV movies and as Luke Ross on Disney Channel’s Jessie, “did more with his 20 years of life, than most people ever could with 100 years.”
She praised Cameron as “actively charitable” and an adventurer who “traveled the world. He made creativity and art his life’s mission, and he encouraged others to do the same.”
“Of course, I am devastated. I will be for the rest of my life,” Maya said.
But although she is heartbroken and grieving, Maya said that “what I’m holding onto, and what I encourage you to hold onto as well, is the memory of his endless optimism.”
“He was sunlight wearing shoes. I can confidently say, he wants us to celebrate, grow, and persevere. Yes, he died. Yes, I’m sad. I’m also happy. And grateful. I was with him hours before he died. It was normal and fun,” she continued. “We said, ‘I love you.’ He was happy.”
Maya concluded the loving post: “I spent 17 years knowing what it was like to be loved by Cameron Boyce. That is the most beautiful gift I have ever received.”

R416. I’ll add to your comments.
I have a seizure disorder. When it’s bad, it’s really bad. I’m on multiple medications to control it and that means absolutely no alcohol and no drugs of any kind including marijuana. Anything - and I mean anything can result in a cascade of seizures.
It’s not the kind of thing you screw with, when you know it can be fatal. It’s not worth it. It’s not casual and you make hard choices when you know the consequences. I know there are people who are desperate as hell because they haven’t found medications to control horrifying seizure problems and they resort to unapproved therapy.
I’m only speaking to my own experiences at a reasonably advanced age with 30 years of experiences with this. It’s why I’d be surprised if the toxicology turned up anything.

R422 I'm sorry what you're going through. I have a friend whose going through something similar. I too suspect that he wasn't taking the medication as directed.
by Anonymous | reply 423 | July 12, 2019 12:11 AM |
R423. Many people with seizures, especially young people have a lot of challenges as they have to change out medications. It can be a challenge between the level of individual discipline but also the physical and biochemical changes that can influence how effective your therapy is.
I see my neurologist every three months, and I am one of the lucky ones that as I approach 60 my seizures are finally starting to reduce: the magical “well controlled” zen point.
Anyone who’s experienced a neurological issue knows what Cameron’s life has been like, and he likely has wonderful friends and family who have helped him manage. I know I couldn’t have managed the last 15 years, especially, without mine.

Debby Ryan's statement at R420, versus Cameron's sister's statement at R421 shows the stark difference in the grieving process.
I love how Maya kept her statement positive, reflecting her brother's life. She clearly knows that's what he would have wanted. And as I'm sure that she's devastated, she really has a strong way of dealing with her brother's death.
Debby Ryan's reaction, on the other hand, is an overly dramatic, drama queen way of expressing grief, which I think most Americans have learned is thte proper way to deal with it.

R441 The autopsy results are still pending. His death is most likely drug related. It's possible he went off his seizure medication but more likely his death resulted from a toxic mixture with other drugs or alcohol. I don't blame Cameron as most teens dabble in hard partying at that age, but it's a warning to others with serious medical conditions to be extremely vigilant.

Late Actor Cameron Boyce Says Starring on Disney Changed His 'Perspective' in Final Interview
Cameron Boyce opened up about how his Disney Channel career impacted his life for the better ahead of his tragic death at the age of 20.
On Wednesday, Another Man Magazine released Boyce’s final interview before his death on July 6. In the article, he spoke about how his unexpected fame inspired his need to do good in the world.
“As I grow up, and knowing that the people who I’m reaching are so young, it for sure changes my perspective on how I want to be perceived,” the Descendants star said.
“When working with Make-A-Wish, I’ll spend the day with a nine-year-old girl who’s struggling with an auto-immune disease,” he continued. “She’s so full of life, she’s super excited to see me and wants to talk about the roles I’ve played on the Disney Channel. Those kids definitely change your view of how important it is to be someone who says the right things and has that passion for making the world a little bit better.”
For Boyce, it came as a slight shock to realize he was affecting so many young people’s lives, simply by being himself.
“There have been a couple of times where I’ve been like, ‘wow, these people actually really care about my opinion, that’s crazy,'” Boyce added. “For me, it’s one of those things where, as long as I’m in a space where I can control it. That feels more manageable. As long as it’s not a million people!”
Boyce explained that he held his grandmother and his mother, Libby, as the most positive influences in his life.
“Every time in school I could write about something, I would always choose her,” he said of his grandmother. “It was always about her. She was so obviously magnetic, and so obviously cherished by everyone.”
“My mum literally drives into Skid Row every day and manages teams that are assembled to walk around and engage with usually chronically homeless people and try to get them into permanent housing,” he added. “My mum is a total go-getter. She tells me all the time, ‘why haven’t you done this already? I know you’re passionate about it.’ I’m like, ‘yeah you’re right, I should do that.'”
His mother and grandmother’s insistence at changing the world led Boyce to his work with the Thirst Project, a charity set up by college students in Southern California which educates children around the U.S. about the global water crisis.
“They started a foundation and now they’re building wells,” he said. “It’s super cool. We always make so many excuses for ourselves – ‘I’m so busy, I’m so tired, I don’t want to do it.’ You know? I’m passionate about it, but I’m not going to be the person that changes things. Why do we tell ourselves that? We totally could. There are so many people who are making so much change just because they’re passionate. Because they read up on it and go out there and do it.”
Boyce died suddenly on July 6 in his home after suffering a seizure in his sleep due to epilepsy.
Since his death, Boyce has been commemorated by a wide number of people, including his Descendants 3 costars and his parents.
In an exclusive statement to PEOPLE, his parents, Victor and Libby, said he was the “rock” of their family and their “shooting star.”
“He was the very definition of human kindness, and a light that will forever shine as his spirit lives on in all who knew and loved him. He was the rock of our family and he always had a positive, heartwarming, insightful and caring outlook on everything and everyone,” they said. “The pain we have endured and are continuing to endure is indescribable, but we are making every effort to move forward and ensure that Cameron’s legacy and all that he stood for is honored.”
In tribute of the bright life he lived, his family has launched a charitable foundation in his honor, PEOPLE exclusively announced on Monday.
Titled the Cameron Boyce Foundation, the charity’s aim is to provide “young people artistic and creative outlets as alternatives to violence and negativity and uses resources and philanthropy for positive change in the world.”

It's official:
"Disney star Cameron Boyce died of epilepsy, coroner says"
LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Los Angeles County coroner's office says Disney actor Cameron Boyce died unexpectedly from epilepsy.
An autopsy report released Tuesday states the "Descendants" star was found unresponsive at home on July 6, and later pronounced dead at the scene.
Boyce's family said previously that the 20-year-old died due to an ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated, but did not reveal specifics.
The family statement called Boyce one of the world's brightest lights, and described his family as heartbroken over his sudden death.
Disney Channel canceled the red-carpet premiere of "Descendants 3" after Boyce's death, and said Friday's telecast will be dedicated to Boyce's memory.

Rest in Peace.

It will come out that it was a drug overdose. This kid was a young cute Hollywood kid who was probably offered drugs by an older, handsome Hollywood producer. Anything to get Cameron’s inhibitions down so he could get close to him. It’s done all the time.....standard protocol. This kid just couldn’t handle the dope, and the producer had the whole thing covered up. In fact, he most likely had the parents paid off. Kids are nothing more than a commodity in Hollywood.

He died from Sudden Unexplained Death in Epilepsy Patients (SUDEP). It affects people usually between the ages of 20 and 40 who have suffered from epileptic seizures at some point in their lives. Victims usually die in their sleep. There is no way to predict its occurrence. The Epilepsy Foundation doesn't talk about it too much because they don't want former patients and their families to think they are under the constant threat of death but the sad fact is that it is fairly common among people who have experienced epileptic seizures at some point in their lives. My niece died of it after not having any seizures for nine years.

Disney star Cameron Boyce's parents on the death of their son
The parents of Cameron Boyce, who died in July of epilepsy, are speaking out about their last night with their son and how they want him to be remembered.
"The night he passed away, we were out to dinner with him just hours before," Victor Boyce told "Good Morning America" co-anchor Robin Roberts in an exclusive interview. "It was a completely normal, beautiful family night out to dinner."
"There was no indication that anything was wrong," he said. "I mean there was no way to know in hours my son would be dead. Like, it was just staggeringly crazy and horrible. And we were texting that night."
Cameron Boyce, 20, died in his sleep after a seizure in early July. He had a "sudden unexpected death in epilepsy," according to an autopsy report released by The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner coroner.
The "Descendants" star's family also confirmed soon after his death that he had epilepsy, a neurological disorder that actively affects about 3.4 million people in the U.S., according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
The actor's parents said their son "didn't want his epilepsy to define him."
"It didn't define him," said Victor Boyce. "He wasn't scared. He never complained about anything."
Added his mother, Libby Boyce, "He loved life. This is, for me, the hardest thing. He was in a place where he was truly happy. I mean, Cameron was always happy. Never a negative thing came out of his mouth."
The Boyces described Cameron as being in a place in his life where he was "finding his groove" and transitioning into an adult. Part of that transition for Cameron included launching into charity work and finding ways to use his voice, according to Libby Boyce.
"He was really getting into the charity stuff, really getting into what he wanted to do with his voice, which is what we always told him to do," she said. "Use your voice. Use it to make positive in the world, and that's what he was starting to do."
To honor Cameron's memory, his family launched The Cameron Boyce Foundation, which will provide "young people artistic and creative outlets as alternatives to violence and negativity and uses resources and philanthropy for positive change in the world," according to their website.
Cameron was honored with a tribute earlier this month after the premiere of "Descendants 3" on Disney Channel.
The tribute included footage of him with his co-stars and even a moment from an early audition.
Though Cameron became a household name thanks to his acting roles, including the "Descendants" franchise, his parents say they want him to be remembered for much more.
"His legacy is important to us because we don't want him to be remembered as just an actor or some Disney kid," said Victor Boyce. "Because he was so much more than that."
"He wanted to be known as his own person, you know, individually and not cookie-cutter," he added.
Libby Boyce described Cameron as the "bedrock of our family." In addition to his parents, Cameron is survived by a sister, Maya.
"Holidays and events, when he would walk in, it would just light up the room and the party would start," said Libby Boyce. "And so that's just an important message that, you know, as an actor, that was just a small piece of who he was."
"That's what gave him some fame, but as a human, he was all about, you know, not being cookie cutter, and about creativity and about joy and no labels," she said. "He was just a human being."

Cameron's last TV series is soon to be released. Paradise City (HBO) Cam plays a gay character. Here is what I read,
"Today a trailer from a new project by HBO with Cameron Boyce was released. A more mature character. I read somewhere that he wanted to end the Descendants movies so he can come out with the premiere of this series "
If this is true, it is even a bigger blow to the gay community. His coming out would have been a boost.
