Why did the Landers sister’s careers go straight down the shitter?
Late 70s up until the mid 80s they were always doing guest spots on sitcoms, served as game show contestants, talk show guests, did TV commercials, even bit parts in movies. They were gorgeous by the standards of the times, even by today’s standards they’d be considered beautiful except they’d have to turn down the brassy hair a little and try to be a little individual from each other.
So what happened? Why did Hollywood tire of these two pretty blonde sisters, and no really good vehicles come their way?

You forgot to mention that Audrey Landers was on the biggest TV show of the time, Dallas, followed by a well-remembered role on One Life To Live, and had a successful recording career in Europe. They created and produced a children's tv show for PBS for five years. They both married well, so I'm guessing they just didn't need to worry about their careers that much, and just do what they wanted and interested them.

Was Ann their mother and Abbey the aunt?

I didn’t watch Dallas so I had no idea she was on it. Couldn’t have been that big a role though, even if it was semi regular. Seems like she was the more talented one, her Wikipedia says she had moderate success in Europe and charred some singles.

They are still. Edy famous. What are you talking about?

R5 It was a supporting role, but she was very memorable in the role, and did 84 episodes. She was one of the few supporting characters that got brought back both for one of the reunion movies and the TNT revival. For Dallas fans, I would say she is one of the most recognizable people outside of the main cast.

Is this them? Jezus. Scorsese should cast them as two ancient Atlantic City whores. I didn't think they made women like this anymore.

R9 I too was born in 1983, Audrey(the one on the right) was 37, Judy was 35. Audrey was always the better looking, and most talented of the two, and now looks younger than her younger sister.

In R9's pic, that's Audrey on the left and her mother Ruth on the right.
I don't know when the pic was taken but Ruth is now 80.

Judy was never pretty. She had a nice body, but a face like Tori Spelling's.
Audrey was the pretty one and the one with some talent.

R13 Thanks for that, I just assumed that was Judy and she had gone straight to crap.

They're so slutty looking. Like they were turned away from the Playboy mansion.

They were so '80's. Judy's leg spreading ability really helped her in the long run though!

They were on tv every five minutes in the 80s, they were always around. I could never tell them apart.
And yes, they looked like a couple of used-up whores. Never thought they were attractive.

They were two pneumatic blow-up, blond Barbie dolls without the wholesomeness. They were always playing cheap women, and they simply aged out of the system.

Audrey took whatever talent she had and landed steady work on "Dallas" and a big role in "A Chorus Line."
Judy guest starred on practically every show that ever existed in the 1980s, always playing the same dumb blonde role. I couldn't stand her though because everyone around acted like she was the sexiest girl in the room, but with those big bug eyes, big chompers, horsey face, and whorish makeup, I thought she was ugly.
