Timeline.

Just to continue the conversation from the last thread, as someone who's been following Richard Madden's online fandom for many years, there WERE more than a few less than kind comments from the fanfraus about how much younger his partners always are prior to Brandon. It always sounded like sour grapes then, and, of course, homophobes will cling to any excuse to be assholes about the fact that he's now fallen in love with a man, too.

Jenna was his age though. And even “unofficial” gfs like Caroline Flack. Suki Waterhouse (I know this was never confirmed) is younger and obviously Ellie was and now brandon, but eh that’s probably just his preference. He probably feels younger being with younger partners and that’s fine. The people he’s been linked to all seem to be hard working and independent with mature kinds of their own, so I think that’s a good reflection on him if anything.

R2 Always? Ellie was very definitely a lot younger than him, but he hardly has a pattern of way younger partners. Jenna is the same age as him, technically older I think. And of other women he's been "linked to" Caroline Flack and Laura Whitmore are also older than him, though I really don't believe he and Caroline were ever more than friends, and I don't know that there was much to the thing with Laura either.

R9 oh please Laura Whitmore was a ubiquitous thirst bucket for anything 5 or so years ago. She was linked (by her team) to literally half of the famous or up and coming stars in London. Half of whom I know are gay. I can’t say I know anything about maddens sexuality, but him being ‘linked’ to her is a bit of a red flag and reeks of fake PR and gives credence that he is/closeted. That he simply played the game of dating women (like most gay actors do - even now, don’t kid yourself if you think they don’t) in order to have a big career. He might have done so until he actually fell for a guy and then decided to fuck it and not beard, I don’t know, but being linked to Laura, a co-star (run of the mill closet move and a way to create buzz for the project and actors. Win win), or a up and coming actress like bamber (agents love to do that) points to him being gay and in the closet, rather than bi like a lot of people seem to think he is.

Just my 2 cents. As I said, until a couple of months ago I thought he was straight and didn’t give it much thought, but after the Brandon thing and then looking into his ‘romantic’ history it reads as an ambitious gay who has bearded.

I wouldn’t say that just because he was linked to her he must be gay and he was bearding that whole time (I don’t buy that myself. No way do I think Jenna was a beard, and as much as I’m not a fan of Ellie, I don’t think she was either.), because the DM and other tabloids LOVE to link their “young, hot, famous” etc people together whether there’s anything there or not. Especially with someone who has a team pushing them as hard as Laura Whitmore’s. They can have people dating, pregnant, practically engaged and broken up if you give them a couple of WEEKS to work with.

R176 I think he also probably did a lot of reevaluating after he finished filming Bodyguard because of how much he immersed himself into it to the point where he didn’t even want to act anymore right afterwards. I think maybe he’s decided to not get that overcome.

But I think after probably hearing why B and Sam ended, (or atleast part of the reason), he will make sure to spend time with him even while working or atleast on breaks. Brandon probably made it clear to him that one of his biggest things in a relationship is quality time.

Plus he had flown from Miami to NYC to Nice to Monaco back to NYC and then to London in a span of little over a week, so he probably was SOOOO already to gtfo and go home.

He said with Bodyguard the only way he got to see family and friends was if they came to him because of his schedule. I always assumed people, Ellie at least, visited him on set when he had a few minutes to spare for lunch or whatever.

The earliest I could see them filming Bodyguard is next fall, if that. There were videos of Darren Criss performing that night at Marie’s Crisis, and Brandon’s friend Nina who they were hanging out with also instagrammed videos from the BLL party- though they may have been ig stories rather than actual videos, so I’m not sure if they’re still up. Laura Dern also later posted an Instagram post in which she thanked “the Rocketman gang”- so Richard would have had to be there WITH Darren and Nina (and B, of course) for them to qualify as the Rocketman gang.
