The article doesn't say these people are cheapasses, but they are.

They look overweight, unfit, and prematurely aged. That's what big cities can do to you if you don't have money. Maybe they should have selected the building with the pool.

You really need gobs of money to live in NYC these days. If you don't it's just depressing and stressful.
