What is your favorite candy bar? Least favorite?

Does anyone else think the quality of the chocolate in these — particularly Kit Kat and Reese’s — has changed? It tastes more waxy (and cheaper) now.

r19 I have one a year, I lock all the doors and hide in the closet to eat it so no one sees me. Then I head into a shame spiral for months.

As a child, I used to like the Rocky Road bars.

Hershey's "Take Five" bar... pretzels, caramel, peanut butter, peanuts, and chocolate.

Least favorite is probably Payday, which I could never get into.

Cadbury chocolate with fruit and nuts. However not the ones made for the US market by Hershey’s. I like mine imported from the U.K. they just taste better. Don’t care for Butterfingers. That crunchy center is like eating glass.

favorite - Payday least favorite - Baby Ruth. I don't even think the coating IS chocolate. It is like cocoa, sugar and candlewax.

My dad's favorite is 5th Avenue. I don't think I've seen one of those in a long time.

I recently returned home from a nursing home, after a bad fall where I broke my arm. My ex visited several times, and I asked him if he could bring me some Reese's Cups the next time he visited. Well, my sister is in town, and was going to look me up, and my brother said he'd stop by, too. Around 7 PM, my ex called to see how my day was going, and I admitted I had waited around all day for either of my siblings to stop by. He showed up a little while later with some Reese's Cups and some flowers, and I remembered why I fell in love with him all those years ago. Those Reese's Cups this evening were a tangible expression of his love and warmth, and my bleak day ended up leaving me feeling loved and in love. Nothing to do with the quality of the chocolate, but how a simple token can change your whole day.

Favorite: Reese's peanut butter cups.

Least: Milky Way

Are Mars bars still around?

Please note that the "Milkyway" bar is a very different thing in the US than it is in the UK. Same name, but different. I believe the UK MilkyWay bar is more like the US Three Musketeers Bar.

Love Milky Way. HATE Heath Bar.

But the worst candy ever was the "Now & Later". Like little squares of hard plastic with a vague flavor.... ugh. They were SO popular when I was a kid back in the 70s and even into the 80s. Thankfully you never see them any more, but dear god they were terrible.

Favorite is Milky Way and KitKat. Also like Nestle Crunch over Hershey.

Least favorite Butterfinger, Almond Joy/mounds, and Baby Ruth. Most dark chocolate too.

In considering this question, I find it helpful to imagine myself a kid again at Halloween, dumping out the bag and assessing the loot.

All the Reese’s and Milky Ways and Kit Kats went first. I liked an occasional Chuckles. Mr. Goodbar and Almond Joy last. Not big on nuts in candy bars, or in baked goods for that matter.

But my all-time favorite? Sky bar.

We usually make our own candies. If we buy commercial items they are not in "bar" form.

I love Reese's cups. I happen to like Almond Joys a lot personally. Not sure about least favorite, but the photo reminds me that I've never been a big Snickers fan. Sticky caramel and peanuts, meh. I might like it better with dark chocolate though (yeah, I'm one of those).

My favorite was Choco'Lite (RIP). Whatchamacallits are sold at my local Kroger. I have an Almond Joy every once in a while. I don't like the Snicker Peanut Butter Bars..

Reese's Sticks are awesome. Crispy wafers filled with peanut butter cream and covered in chocolate. They're way better than Kit-Kats.

Reese's that have been in the freezer are the best. Worst is anything coconut.
