I watched one episode of the new Queer Eye and though Jonathan tries way too hard to be "on" all the time.

What I don’t get about “non-binary” is the fact that they’re just reinforcing gender roles instead of questioning them. Can’t a man feel some feminine traits and still be male? Isn’t feeling not-male because you like to wear heels and skirts sometimes reducing womanhood to heels and skirts? Seems like stereotyping to me.

Van Ness is gender non-conforming, a more accurate description of his choice not to behave according to conventional gender rules.
