Given all the hullabaloo that surrounds it (ranging from conspiracy theories to supposed evidence that it's not beneficial), I am curious as to what the DL consensus is on this matter. I can understand why people don't want to drink it, but it seems there is solid evidence that topical application is beneficial to the tooth surface. What do we think? Any dentists in the house?
It was helpful before fluoride toothpaste and mouthwash became so cheap and widespread. Now there's no need for it, I think. But there needs to be a bigger public campaign about the benefits of fluoride in dental care as it's seen as dangerous these days and that delusion is spreading like wildfire. I just adore my amine fluoride mouthwash and would definitely take it on a deserted island with me. That stuff does miracles for my enamel.

Or maybe keep it until you fix your dental health insurance. That Lafayette citizen does not belong in that infographic, though. One anecdote does not an argument make.
