Is she the biggest cunt in Canadian politics?
Lisa MacLeod

Is she the one who wanted to take funding away from autistic children? Then yes...except Michelle Rempel gives her a run for the money.

Yes, R1. That's her.
And last week MacLeod was trying to claim that progressive Canadian icon Tommy Douglas (grandfather of actor Keifer Sutherland) would approve of Ford's budget cuts!

Tommy would approve of cutting funding for Ontario health care? On which planet in which galaxy?

I think she was trying for the 'trim the management fat' implication in Ford's 'finding efficiences' phrase. IIRC, Douglas and the socialists of the time used to criticize white collar workers who exploited the labour below them.
Total bullshit, of course, but I think that's what she was trying to do.

Scheer is getting heat to kick out an MP who quoted some white supremacist manifesto.

r5 Are there no more Bay Street Tories who go into politics anymore? There can't be such a dearth of candidates that they need these Hitlerian hicks to be viable.

Indeed, R5.
Michael Cooper, an Alberta version of Rick Santorum, was finally given a mild reprimand by Scheer yesterday, but he still has his Justice Critic position in the Conservative Party.

MacLeod is a repulsive human being. She can't even hold on to staffers.

I hope the Liberals use Michael Cooper and Scheer's wrist slap of him as a prime example in their campaign of how the Conservatives are just an inch away from Trump and his "good people on both sides" world.
Also, didn't the Conservatives reject a special investigation into murdered indigenous women?? So Andrew Scheer's statement saying, "Conservatives will carefully review the details of the MMIWG final report and continue to hold the Trudeau government to account..." sounds like hypocrisy on steroids.

Awful as she is, she won't be the worst example as long as Candice Bergen (not the one you're thinking of) draws breath.

Bernard Valcourt, Harper's Aboriginal Affairs Minister, was punished in the 2015 election for his behavior -- he finished 3rd in his New Brunswick riding.
