Celebrities living with Alzheimer's disease
Which celebrities do we know are living with this dreadful disease?
There are often rumours floating around about some people - some which to out to be true, others not so.
The ones that come to mind are Monica Vitti, Stella Stevens, John Saxon, Jack Nicholson, Sean Connery, Prince Philip, Joanne Woodward. I recall a number of years ago someone told me that QE2 was, but that has thankfully turned out not to be the case.

I have seen zero evidence that Prince Philip has Alzheimer's disease. He goes out and about just fine, and attends the events that he chooses.

This might sound strange, but I really hope Trump does not have Alzheimer's.
My reasoning is simple, if not selfish: my mother was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's a few years ago. I'd hate, many years from now, to think back on the time both my mother and a piece of human excrement were afflicted with the same disease.

You have a very valid point R6. You wouldn't want to look back and make that association. Unless Trump is in complete denial, to be hated by so many people, will take its toll on him. I hope he remains alert to that fact to the day he eventually takes his last gasp of air.

I’m sorry Americans but Trump doesn’t have Alzheimer’s, he’s just an awful person. He doesn’t have the excuse of “he didn’t know what he was doing”. Everything he does, he goes on purpose.

Early stages, but... Bill Clinton. His behaviors on stage at Hillary's Democratic Convention, wandering open-mouthed and empty-eyed, agog at the balloons, were disconcerting.

I knew this was going to be a Trump thread form the beginning. The treason gals will be reinvigorated for a few more days.

Gene Hackman is photographed out and about regularly and there's no evidence hr has Alzheimer's.
I didn't know about Connery but apparently Michael Caine has said something about it publicly.

Johnny Crawford, little Mark McCain from The Rifleman. I met him several years ago and he seemed fine, and it was reported on his social media page that he now has Alzheimer’s. Surprisingly, he was at a recent western convention that I attended but his wife and brother were there to attend to him. Such a nice man, but he no longer remembers much. There’s a Go Fund Me set up...

I heard Jane Fonda has beginnings of dementia, can't remember her lines, and that she wears a hearing aid?

Babawa Walters, clearly. The last few videos she made before she became a recluse she was mumbling and her eyes wouldn't focus

R2 you have it reversed. Alzheimer's is a form of dementia. Other forms of dementia include Lewy Body and vascular dementia.
And yes, Barbara Walters has dementia. She dated the king of geriatric psychiatrists for awhile and she started to manifest symptoms then. Wonder what he told her about her future?

Oh ffs R17, she’s well into her seventies, memory and ears not as sharp as they used to be is not proof of Alzheimer’s.

^^^ I think that was meant to be read as 3 different ailments. FFS. And she's 81
by Anonymous | reply 30 | May 30, 2019 1:58 PM

Well if she’s 81 it’s even less surprising that her memory and hearing aren’t razor sharp. And the implication of the poster was clearly that these are signs of Alzheimer’s , the subject of this thread.

Why do we have to watch our loved ones go through this? I’ve seen quite a few excellent people reduced to nothing by these diseases. If I ever get to that point, I’d want to be put to sleep the way we do for our pets. Just euthanize me.
I guess it’s a slippery slope.

"Unless Trump is in complete denial, to be hated by so many people, will take its toll on him. "
You must not be a New Yorker. Donald has been hated and laughed at for DECADES and knows it - he thrives on it, he defines himself by it. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Prunella Scales (Sybil Fawlty, Elizabeth Mapp) has had memory problems since 2013 and Alzheimer's since 2014. From her IMDB biography:
[quote]In January 2013, she revealed that she had begun to suffer from short term memory loss and was unable to remember the years in which her sons were born or the year she married her husband, Timothy West. In March 2014, West announced that his wife was suffering from mild Alzheimer's disease, however, by August 2015, her condition had worsened to the point where she could no longer remember any details about their wedding or their married life together.

I read of Prunella in the DM, r36. Very sad. But we'll always have the tart-tongued sassy Sybil Fawlty!

Regarding Trump, dementia isn't necessarily forgetfulness. The signs for him are the word salad, incoherent rambling, penmanship, etc. I'm currently going through it with my mom, similar characteristics between the two. Of course if I told my mom I thought he had dementia, she'd get mad that she'd have anything in common with him.
I remember seeing Trump all the time on NYC TV in the '80s and '90s and even though he was a blowhard and bullshitter, he didn't ramble and wasn't belligerent like he is now.

R10 Bill Clinton is definitely showing signs of some kind or memory thing. I noticed the balloon thing at the convention too.
I don’t think Dump has a memory thing, I think the adderall is rotting his piss soaked brain.

The headline is misleading in that
they cannot absolutely know if someone had ALZHEIMER'S until they are autopsied.
