Had a work colleague many years ago that I spent one night with who claimed Cavett picked him up on a street corner. He didn't have many stories like that to impart. So I wasn't sure if he was telling the truth or Cavett was a special fantasy of his. His long term marriage to Nye as pointed out means nothing. But it is the only instance I've heard of that Cavett was at least bi.

I truly think people forget that Cavett was sexy because he was short. I've found that there are a lot of people who (weirdly IMO) feel short men have no sex appeal, which I cannot understand. I've never felt there was any correlation between someone's height and sexiness, but that's just me.

I grew up watching Cavett on TV. Thought he was so handsome. Kind of like Keir Dullea of the same time period. So having found them so beautiful when I was a boy it's more than disconcerting looking at them today. Plain people don't seem to age so drastically. Interestingly Dullea now doesn't look too differently from how he looks at the end of 2001. Kubrick got things sometimes so uncannily right with his perfectionism.
