What’s better than a period mystery drama that takes place on a luxurious Art Deco ocean liner during the 1940s that involves beautiful men, exquisite outfits and fashion with ties to the Nazis?
I highly recommend!

If it's set in the 1940s, why does the poster look like some shitty CGI video game from the 2000s?
by Anonymous | reply 1 | May 27, 2019 11:29 PM |
Way to bury the lead. It stars sexy Jon Kortajarena. You know, Luke Evans' ex (or are they back together?).
by Anonymous | reply 2 | May 27, 2019 11:38 PM |
Under no circumstances does Jon Kortajarena look like a leading man from the 1940s.
Is this show an authentic period piece, or is it an example of what people do when they want to make sure a show looks hip and contemporary, but are obligated to say that it's set in a previous decade?

R3 The cast is good looking. That was the primary goal and the rest is sorted out with make up and wardrobe.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | May 27, 2019 11:47 PM |
So....it's the latter.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | May 27, 2019 11:50 PM |
Haha OP, I just finished watching this. Jon is actually a decent actor and that girl from Pan's Labyrinth is all grown up.
So what's up with all the original Spanish programming on Netflix? It must be doing really well because Netflix keeps producing more projects in Spain.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | May 27, 2019 11:53 PM |
Any gay content?
by Anonymous | reply 7 | May 27, 2019 11:55 PM |
Ivana Baquero as Eva is the best thing about the programme.
R7 there’s a few honoerituc scenes with Dimas and Sebastian.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | May 27, 2019 11:58 PM |
Honeritucism with Nazis on a Spanish ocean liner?!?
Well I never in all my life.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | May 28, 2019 12:02 AM |
Shit. I watch way too much TV already and now I can't wait to watch this show.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | May 28, 2019 12:04 AM |
This show is awful. I mean absolutely awful. Please don’t waste your time on this. Actors and crews from these Netflix shows come on here and shill for them in the hopes that people will watch this garbage. Get the Criterion Channel and watch something decent.

Err, Bravo does this all the time.
I know for a fact the Housewives producers would send plants to start threads about the show, and many other Bravo shows, that's why I never participate of the Housewives threads because they are not organic. Yuck !
by Anonymous | reply 12 | May 28, 2019 12:19 AM |
R11 These thread won’t even get to 1000 views. No one cares to shill here but ok.

Hot guys and spanish accents? It will get some replies as soon some screen caps get uploaded.
Elite has some fans around here. Though that show has gay characters.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | May 28, 2019 12:24 AM |
Really lame and the guys aren't that hot. Bland soap opera acting. I gave up after a few episodes.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | May 28, 2019 1:19 AM |
Sow what did the end scene mean? Was that chest the ark of the covenant? Was that a symbol for the knights of Templar?
by Anonymous | reply 17 | May 28, 2019 1:27 AM |
First impression. The music feels a bit Downton Abbey-ish? Seems a bit like a Nancy Drew mystery but with murder.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | May 28, 2019 2:07 AM |
R15, Ignacio Montes was hot, along with Jon.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | May 28, 2019 3:29 AM |
I like Dimas, the valet (Ignacio Montes). I hope his boss doesn't screw him over (Dumas trying to get him to invest in his fuel substitute invention). Jon Kortajarena as Nicolás is hot, but I wish he'd been more shirtless on the show.

Is it just me or did Uncle Pedro and Doctor Rojas bicker at each other like an old married couple?

Users' reviews on IMDB sound very crappy. Thanks.

I actually enjoyed the show...watched it all in one night.
Does anyone know more about the short film he posted about today, "El Destello"? It looks interesting. I hope it is available online (legally) sometime soon.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | June 11, 2019 8:40 PM |
Sounds interesting but it's probably boring like all Netflix series.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | June 11, 2019 8:43 PM |
The ship leaves from Buenos Aires full of Argentine men (and women, but who cares) headed to Rio de Janeiro. Too bad it wasn't the other way around.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | June 11, 2019 8:48 PM |
I am really enjoying all the Spanish-centric shows Netflix is churning out.
Clearly they need to make a gay themed series.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | June 11, 2019 9:03 PM |
Well the short film is gay-themed, but I agree, R26. I enjoyed Elite as well.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | June 11, 2019 10:00 PM |
Though not on Netflix, to clarify.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | June 11, 2019 10:01 PM |
The boat is nice.

Wait! what short film?
by Anonymous | reply 30 | June 11, 2019 10:12 PM |
"El Destello", R30. It is being shown at festivals, but I am not sure if and where it will be viewable online.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | June 11, 2019 10:28 PM |
So is/was Jon dating this Miguel Angel Silvestre or are they just friends?
by Anonymous | reply 32 | June 23, 2019 5:49 PM |
R32 I think they are only friends. They know each other since years already.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | June 23, 2019 6:19 PM |
Thanks, R33/R34!
by Anonymous | reply 35 | June 23, 2019 9:33 PM |
Loved the second season (though Jon is barely in it). Nice soap drama. Though I knew who the murderer of the girl was by episode six (the second season has eight episodes). Love Dimas.
A bit off topic I checked out Claudia Traisac (who plays Casandra in the second season) and found a delightful comedy series called Paquita Salas. It's quite charming and hilarious.

Is it like Downton Abbey on a cruise ship?
by Anonymous | reply 37 | November 28, 2019 3:11 PM |
that Miguel guy looks way better in profile
by Anonymous | reply 38 | November 28, 2019 6:03 PM |
Season 3 was just released with a timely themed virus threat for the ship's passengers.
SPOILER
It's only six episodes and they still managed to keep Jon Kortajarena out of most episodes only to kill his character off in the finale. What a bummer.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | August 8, 2020 10:12 AM |
Jon K is ruining his looks with chain-smoking, you can see the decline already. In 5 years he's going to look like a peach pit.

[quote] So what's up with all the original Spanish programming on Netflix?
I don't fully understand how it works but Netflix and Amazon have to produce 30% local content or make an equal contribution to the local film and TV industry. It's been in place since about 2018, hence all the new content from countries other than the US.

Yes indeed, we too use "cookies." Take a look at our privacy/terms or if you just want to see the damn site without all this bureaucratic nonsense, click ACCEPT. Otherwise, you'll just have to find some other site for your pointless bitchery needs.
