If it's set in the 1940s, why does the poster look like some shitty CGI video game from the 2000s?

Way to bury the lead. It stars sexy Jon Kortajarena. You know, Luke Evans' ex (or are they back together?).

Under no circumstances does Jon Kortajarena look like a leading man from the 1940s.

Is this show an authentic period piece, or is it an example of what people do when they want to make sure a show looks hip and contemporary, but are obligated to say that it's set in a previous decade?

R3 The cast is good looking. That was the primary goal and the rest is sorted out with make up and wardrobe.

Haha OP, I just finished watching this. Jon is actually a decent actor and that girl from Pan's Labyrinth is all grown up.

So what's up with all the original Spanish programming on Netflix? It must be doing really well because Netflix keeps producing more projects in Spain.

Really lame and the guys aren't that hot. Bland soap opera acting. I gave up after a few episodes.

Sow what did the end scene mean? Was that chest the ark of the covenant? Was that a symbol for the knights of Templar?

First impression. The music feels a bit Downton Abbey-ish? Seems a bit like a Nancy Drew mystery but with murder.

R15, Ignacio Montes was hot, along with Jon.

I like Dimas, the valet (Ignacio Montes). I hope his boss doesn't screw him over (Dumas trying to get him to invest in his fuel substitute invention). Jon Kortajarena as Nicolás is hot, but I wish he'd been more shirtless on the show.

Is it just me or did Uncle Pedro and Doctor Rojas bicker at each other like an old married couple?

Sounds interesting but it's probably boring like all Netflix series.

The ship leaves from Buenos Aires full of Argentine men (and women, but who cares) headed to Rio de Janeiro. Too bad it wasn't the other way around.

Loved the second season (though Jon is barely in it). Nice soap drama. Though I knew who the murderer of the girl was by episode six (the second season has eight episodes). Love Dimas.

A bit off topic I checked out Claudia Traisac (who plays Casandra in the second season) and found a delightful comedy series called Paquita Salas. It's quite charming and hilarious.

It's only six episodes and they still managed to keep Jon Kortajarena out of most episodes only to kill his character off in the finale. What a bummer.

Jon K is ruining his looks with chain-smoking, you can see the decline already. In 5 years he's going to look like a peach pit.

I don't fully understand how it works but Netflix and Amazon have to produce 30% local content or make an equal contribution to the local film and TV industry. It's been in place since about 2018, hence all the new content from countries other than the US.
