It's a real question, you guys thought hillary was the perfect candidate yet she lost.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | May 27, 2019 8:08 PM |
Nobody thought that Hillary was "the perfect candidate," o obvious troll. And the premise of your "real question" is based on ludicrously false, not to mention more than a little stupid, reasoning:
[quote]Because the way the dem primary is going there's a real good chance that trump will win again.
There's nothing wrong with "the way dem [sic] primary is going," certainly nothing that would inform any speculation about the 2020 election.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | May 27, 2019 8:18 PM |
By "the way the dem primary is going," our little troll means "as Bernie fades into utter obscurity." Too bad, bir Bernie and his Bernbots.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | May 27, 2019 8:21 PM |
I'm a socialist I dont want trump to win but I see there's a real possibility he might, specially when most left leaning people are living in a bubble far removed from working class people who are struggling daily.

See r7 the very fact you label me a troll just because I dare to have a different opinion doesnt bode well for this country.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | May 27, 2019 8:22 PM |
What does that even mean, r8?
by Anonymous | reply 10 | May 27, 2019 8:22 PM |
He's going to win because dems learned nothing from 2016.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | May 27, 2019 8:24 PM |
What should dems have learned from 2016?
by Anonymous | reply 12 | May 27, 2019 8:26 PM |
R9, I'm paying you a compliment by calling you a troll. Because the alternative is that you really are genuinely stupid.
But hey, if you want "stupid" instead of "troll," I'm fine with that.
Oh, and nothing I've written has anything to do with anything "boding" for this country. Your "different opinion" isn't backed up by any actual logic, reason, or data, so you're getting exactly the reaction you have earned, and likely wanted.

by Anonymous | reply 17 | May 27, 2019 8:29 PM |
Except, R16, there is no "track record of corruption" and no "history of sexual misconduct." Both of those, by the way, actually do apply to one candidate: Donald Trump.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | May 27, 2019 8:30 PM |

If you think 2020 is on lock, just remember 2016.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | May 27, 2019 8:35 PM |
Of course 2020 is not a lock. For either side.
The point is Bernie is not a better candidate for the Dems no matter how much OP clenches his teeth and wishes his were.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | May 27, 2019 8:36 PM |
You're all forgetting that HRC actually won the popular vote...i.e. more people voted for her than Trump. If it weren't for the fucked-up electoral college, she'd be president right now. Is she perfect? No. But she has a brain and knows how to use it.

by Anonymous | reply 25 | May 27, 2019 8:38 PM |
I'm a progressive and I actually like Joe Biden, he got that old school vibe I like, I just wish his policies were better for working class people.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | May 27, 2019 8:40 PM |
The answer to the OP's question is that yes, of course, Trump [italic]could[/italic] win again. He's got his base firmly behind him and they won't budget for anything less than a Trump serial killer shooting spree on Main street. And maybe not even then. But his base isn't enough to elect him and most polls show a solid 50+% saying they do not want him to win a second term.
As for the Democratic primary, it's months away from being able to draw any conclusions about 2020. We don't know which candidates will survive, which candidates will be able to build a winning coalition, which issues will resonate with the primary voters and the voters in the general election.
And in the election itself, there are still more unknowns: Will we be at war? Will we suffer another major terrorist attack? Will the economy head south, finally giving us that overdue recession and stock market correction? Will Trump continue to be Trump, with scandal after scandal, stupidity after stupidity?
Oh, wait ... we do know that one. In short, the OP is a troll and a rather lame one, not that anyone needed me to point that out.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | May 27, 2019 8:42 PM |
His fiasco of a presidency will make people more conservative, so I predict a safe choice, an old white man with 40 years of political experience. Kamala Harris and the gay candidate is out, so either Biden or Sanders.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | May 27, 2019 8:42 PM |
I like virtually any nominee of the Democratic Party except maybe Bernie--but we all gotta vote against Trump no matter who it is. That said, I think it will be Biden with a woman VP, probably Harris. If I could pick any of them it would be Warren and Pete B.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | May 27, 2019 8:43 PM |
I would say that there is a 60% chance at this moment that Trump will win again in 2020. HOWEVER, if by the glorious grace of god, SOMETHING, ANYTHING of any criminal weight can finally be exposed in the next year, we will be free of him. If not, I say the chances are that he will win a second term.
His voters are true morons and he truly could shoot someone in the street, and these numbnuts would back this guy up.
We are too limited in our perceptions as gay men and we have not even considered that half of the world are basically racist, homophobic , xenophobic morons who actually are dumb enough to vote against themselves!!! As the new tax laws that fucked EVERY ONE of them should attest to. You would THINK that would turn his moronic base against him right?? It won't.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | May 27, 2019 8:43 PM |
Nutbag bernie is nobody’s safe choice and Dump’s ignorant opioid zombies who are eager to support him after shooting someone on 5th Ave aren’t enough to carry the day this time
by Anonymous | reply 31 | May 27, 2019 8:45 PM |
r30: Where do you get the 60% chance stat from? Just curious. He polls at 40% of eligible voters and even lower occasionally lately, and he will probably not win those 3 states that he won in 2016--MI, WI and PA--maybe Wisconsin but probably not the others. The only way he can win is voter suppression or voter machine hacking as far as I can see. You know something about that?
by Anonymous | reply 32 | May 27, 2019 8:49 PM |

If, by some HORRIBLE CIRCUMSTANCE Trump were to win again in 2020, then my only consolation would be, is that even some of the world's most Vile, Evil, most Notorious Corrupt Dictators have seen an end to their reigns- even if it seemed like it took forever. Cruella de ville herself Imelda Marcos, who transformed herself and managed to get re-elected to the Fillipino Congress was FINALLY convicted for corruption, and jailed in her NINETIES. NAZI WAR CRIMINALS were hunted all the way to their Second Lives in Latin America and prosecuted for their crimes at the Hague. Pinochet the monster was made to leave eventually, and it seems that punishment carried on generationally in a way- was it not just last year one of his *daughter's* killed herself? My point being- we may not see these Monsters punished in the time frame WE would like, but justice comes to collect it's due sooner or later.

The only thing that I am afraid of is the rampant cheating (which is the only way that pretty much EVERY Rethug has won any election since Reagan - and that was a different nightmare all together). It's hard to fight cheaters and it's difficult to win against them. W did win the second time but only after throwing us into a fabricated war (whatever your belief is on that mess). Even that particular election seemed rigged when the exit polls were screaming Kerry. So what can we do? At the very least we all need to show up and vote. Sadly, the more liberal and more educated a group is - the less likely that group is to actually show up and vote for their own interests; I can never figure that one out. The crazy, conservative, evangelical ignorants do exactly as they are told - THEY VOTE EVERY TIME. So much needs to change, but we all need to at least do our part - if you are Democrat, for God's sake get to the polls!!!

I would like for a Trump supporter to explain to me how you constantly manage to make him look like the victim, when everyone who associates with him has their reputation destroyed, loses everything, and often wind up in jail.
And another thing, when the fool decided to brutally attack McCain for a solid week, suddenly McCain was a villain. A villain most of his supporters voted for in 2012. Trumptards are so embroiled in propaganda and Qanon, they wouldn't know the truth if it slapped them in the face. How do these idiots get thru life?

[quote]If Bernie doesnt win then Joe Biden will and with his history of sexual misconduct, terrible track record with corruption (Hillary 2.0) it's almost sure trump will win.
That was hilariously stupid.
Oh, and for the record, you still don't have any actual data. Those "economic models" are worthless. We hear this shit every four years and every four years there are multiple "models" predicting opposite outcomes.
