I have sex maybe once a week. Is it worth taking the medicine if I don’t have as much sex as I used to?
How much sex per week would be worth taking a daily medicine for?

Depends on how much you are charging?

I give it away for free!

With different people each time? Unprotected? Just wear a condom and you won't need it.

Do have raw sex? Do you want to have raw sex? Is raw sex mandatory or you don't get laid?
by Anonymous | reply 4 | May 27, 2019 12:57 PM |
There is an on demand protocol. I think it is like 5 or 6 pills over 3 days. May as well take it everyday.
There are studies saying it is like 300 percent over dosed.

This is a fair question as the long term health effects of Prep are unknown. If you and the guy(s) you fuck are fine with condoms, then give Prep the flick and keep your liver intact.

The problem is a lot of tops are refusing to wear condoms because so many bottoms are on PrEP.
The situation forces bottoms to choose PrEP

Here's a novel idea, if a top refuses to wear a condom, REFUSE TO FUCK HIM. You can say no. There are loads of guys out there who will happily fuck you AND practice safe sex.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | May 27, 2019 5:14 PM |
r8, you obviously don't live in NYC. I live in Hell's Kitchen, and raw is the norm, with all these sluts foolishly assuming or taking it for granted that everyone else is on PrEP. No one uses condoms anymore. What could possibly go wrong? Guys, this is really scary.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | May 27, 2019 5:19 PM |
Actually there are fewer and fewer tops who will fuck you with a condom.
Check the apps. Most have gone raw

It's great that PrEP is giving everyone greater protection from HIV, but how do you know if your potential sex partner is being honest about being on PrEP or complying with the regimen? And what about other STDs that are easily transmittable without a condom but that PrEP is useless against? Is anyone worried about contracting those, and catching an antibiotic-resistant strain. Why are we are worst enemy?

You're right R9, I'm in Seattle. If a guy won't wear a condom, we just move on to someone who will. I don't know about the younger set but I know guys my age (40s) are all still wrapping up. I think combo of too many bad memories and a very health conscious city. Seattle's "Fuck Safely" campaign also seems to have filtered through to some with condom boxes with the logo mounted on bar walls everywhere (and not just in bathrooms. In your face campaigning works). PrEP is not infallible and this is your life and your health here.

Another thread started with the intention of riling up the anti bareback crowd. This is rote and predictable at this point. Prep sluts!! Super AIDS!! Young people are dumb!!!
by Anonymous | reply 13 | May 27, 2019 5:45 PM |
R8 That only works if there are fewer bottoms than there are tops.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | May 27, 2019 5:48 PM |
What happens when SuperAIDS hits? AND IT WILL. Make no mistake about that. It's probably already being spread in the community as we speak, thanks to BB whores whose lives revolve around taking raw loads. Sure, laugh away, but it won't be so funny 5-7 years from now when Super-AIDS inevitably explodes, making Regular-AIDS look like hay fever.

It took two post for Super AIDS to appear R13 ( see R15 ) , this site is known to skew old and a lot of the thinking displays that.

Total bottom here, been on prep for 2 years. No one uses condoms. No on even asks about condoms. No one cares. Most people have their shit under control.

Talk to your doctor. You shouldn’t get advice about your Health here. Without your health, you have nothing. Your doctor will ask questions. We won’t

The dumb young sluts are going to be the death of us. PrEP alone isn't enough! Why can't they get this through their thick sculls? Once SuperAIDS hit, you won't have anyone to blame but yourselves. You can't use Reagan as an excuse this time around.

R19 Hasn't had sex since Nixon was in office.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | May 27, 2019 7:22 PM |
there is no superaids spreading at the moment. Do your realism how closely the blood is examined of a proportion of PrEP takers who are doing it correctly???
There is drug resistant clap.
There is Hep C - expensive to cure.
there are all the other STIs - all annoying including HPVs that are for life.
There is no superaids.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | May 27, 2019 7:35 PM |
Aids was a condition. The virus is HIV. There is no "super HIV" virus nor "all drug" resistant HIV. The drug resistant HIVs are created in resource poor countries and populations where adherence is spotty or access to the best drugs.
But, BLAME IT ON HOMO SLUTS, because you have PTSD from the AIDS years and hate yourselves and other gays.

Well [bold]THANK FUCKING GOD[/bold] people form "those countries" can't travel or have sex with decent white people.
*snort*
Personally, IDGAF if you fuck up your life. Don't come running to your homo brethern for help if you catch something incurable.

SF here. Everyone does it raw except POC who are dealing with self-loathing from their communities’ perspective that all those white fags got the AIDS. Some of them don’t even know what PrEP is - for real.
If you are having sex even once a month, you should be on it. Why risk it?
Put those insurance dollars to work and catch up to all those straights whose birth control pills and births we have financed for decades.

Okay, let's play this never-ending game: WHY HASN'T IT HIT... YET?
I assume you're a virologist with advanced medical degrees (since you're so sure IT WILL!) and can answer some basic questions:
Is it that we haven't been barebacking long enough? Is it that the virus hasn't mutated sufficient to combine with another? What are the statistics on co-infection when two people with different strains exchange bodily fluids? What if only one of them is HIV-positive but on meds and is undetectable and the other is on PrEP... do we need to worry then? If only one partner is on PrEP, what are the chances of transmission then? Do you know the answers and can provide concrete empirical evidence, or are you simply passing moral judgment on your peers because of a lifetime of conditioning?

I would be more scared of getting herpes or hep c. I’ve been on truvada since it came out. No problems. It’s better to take loads from your man.
