In another interview Taron repeats what David Furnish has said before about Elton being a "blokey bloke". That film does not portray him as a blokely bloke. More like Bryce the Firefighter on SNL.

I enjoyed it despite it being too uneven in genre. There's not enough music and dancing elements to be a true musical but it's not straightforward enough to be viewed as a standard narrative film.
