Comedian Jerrod Carmichael got very personal in his latest HBO special on Sunday, candidly revealing during a discussion on sexuality that he has had relationships with men.

During Home Videos — the first of two specials in which Carmichael will have informal, intimate conversations with his family — Carmichael returned home to North Carolina, where he sat down for a Q&A with his mother, Cynthia. After asking his mom to reflect on the affair that Cynthia’s husband once had on her, Carmichael asked if she’s ever been attracted to women.

“I’ve hooked up with dudes before,” Carmichael revealed, after Cynthia said she’d never had those feelings for a woman. Her response? “Well, OK. That’s your option. I like men.” The conversation ended shortly after that exchange, and there was no further discussion of how Carmichael labels his sexuality. (For those keeping score at home, Carmichael is indeed the answer to our recent Blind Item about a buzzy entertainer who would potentially make a big announcement during a TV special.)

It will probably never happen, but I'd love to see David Muir burst open the closet doors this year. Come on, David, everyone knows you're gay already. It's just like when Anderson Cooper came out -- no one was shocked in the least, but knew already.

I still think "famous" people have a tendency to not use the words gay or bisexual lately that it's a complete anomaly between common people.
