Nearly Half of Trump's 2020 Campaign Contributions Came From (White) Female Donors

Trump's campaign raised $1.47 million in donations from women across the country in the first quarter of 2019, according to an analysis by the Center for Responsive Politics

Despite Donald Trump's often rocky relationship with women, nearly half of the president's 2020 campaign contributions this year have come from female donors, putting him in third place out of 15 candidates in terms of total percentage of donations from women. Trump's campaign raised $1.47 million in donations from women across the country in the first quarter of 2019, according to an analysis by the Center for Responsive Politics. The report is based only on donors who made itemized contributions of over $200.

That’s a significant increase from 2016, when only 28 percent of Trump’s total campaign contributions during the election came from women. Hillary Clinton’s campaign had over 52 percent of their donations come from women . . .

Ive said it a million times.

Women are their own worst oppressors

by Anonymousreply 1May 6, 2019 10:41 PM

I know a woman who started supporting him because of the trans thing.

by Anonymousreply 2May 6, 2019 10:42 PM

Both parties oppress women. Just in different ways.

by Anonymousreply 3May 6, 2019 10:43 PM

R2 no you don't

by Anonymousreply 4May 6, 2019 10:43 PM

Nearly half his votes in 2020 will come from them, too. White women are the ones keeping the Republican Party alive.

by Anonymousreply 5May 6, 2019 10:44 PM

Most women don't think about politics. They just vote the same way their man does.

by Anonymousreply 6May 6, 2019 10:45 PM

Republicans are the ones right now keeping the definition of "woman" alive.

by Anonymousreply 7May 6, 2019 10:45 PM

R2 is lying, but if it were true, that woman is a piece of shit. She'll fuck over 98% of the population because she doesn't like 2% who have little actual impact on her life.

One important factoid that shouldn't be overlooked:

"The report is based only on donors who made itemized contributions of over $200."

This is about wealthy donors.

by Anonymousreply 8May 6, 2019 10:46 PM

Tell yourself whatever you want, R8.

by Anonymousreply 9May 6, 2019 10:48 PM

TRANS

Let me say it again

TRANS

Women will never support gender laws. Ever.

by Anonymousreply 10May 6, 2019 10:50 PM

White women have always supported republicans normally but Chump has helped erode that support. One wonders if this would have been half if husband's didnt also contribute to him under their wives name to double the contribution.

by Anonymousreply 11May 6, 2019 10:53 PM

R11, that’s a good point, there are probably a lot of double contributions in there.

by Anonymousreply 12May 6, 2019 10:54 PM

Typical that OP is quick to dump all over women but holds trans as sacred. Even though many trans are conservatives as most are straight, white males.

by Anonymousreply 13May 6, 2019 10:56 PM

R9/R10, you can tell yourselves whatever you want, but the polls say otherwise.

by Anonymousreply 14May 6, 2019 10:59 PM

The "polls" are BS.

by Anonymousreply 15May 6, 2019 11:00 PM

People are conflating two different ideas here. Saying half of Trumps donors are women is very different from saying half of women of Trump voters.

Trumps approval with women is abysmally low. In 2018 dems won more women votes than they have in history. Most women in this country, even most white women, loathe him

by Anonymousreply 16May 6, 2019 11:09 PM

R11 has a point about the donation figures, but the Democratic party is losing support among white women due to the perception that they hate them more than the republicans do.

What are the Dems going to do to address this?

Shit all over everyone who points it out? Harrass and belittle white women in public to scare them into line? Something has to change.

The allure of Trump is not some racist magic that can't be fought, you can win people over if you take their concerns seriously.

by Anonymousreply 17May 6, 2019 11:11 PM

Rabid fanatics like the trans troll aren't worth arguing with. Hatred is a religion to them.

But please don't listen to their bullshit. It's objectively and observably wrong.

54% of white chicks voted for Trump

by Anonymousreply 19May 6, 2019 11:22 PM

Yes r19, and have moved away from him since. Trumps approval has somehow gone DOWN since his election. And it started lower than any president in history. Many people who voted for him because they hated Hillary say they wouldn't do it again.

We have an election more recent than 2016 and white women supported democrats by the largest margins ever. That is just fact. Sorry if it doesn't fit into the stories people like to tell themselves

by Anonymousreply 20May 6, 2019 11:24 PM

[quote] Both parties oppress women. Just in different ways.

Neither party exists in a vacuum, isolated from the rest of society.

Both parties are not the same. Despite Republicans continued attempts to use the claim that they are to get liberals to sit at home on Election Day.

Only One party is fighting for equality and electing record numbers of women to serve in public office.

The New Yorker: A Political Scientist Defends White Identity Politics

You write that “diversity falls flat for many because we’re not all wired the same way.” What do you mean by “wired”?

This gets at political-psychology literature on authoritarianism and conservatism, which shows that between a third and a half of people have a hereditary disposition toward preferring order and security to novelty and change. What that means is that you’ve got members of both the majority and minorities who have that more conservative, order-seeking disposition. The problem we’re in is that when multiculturalism enjoins the majority to be individualistic and post-ethnic, and not to be attached to its groups, and minorities conversely to be attached to their groups, this doesn’t really fit. If you are wired in the conservative, order-seeking member of a majority psychologically, that’s not going to work for you. This is really where I think populism is coming from.

In other words, among other things, it's perfectly reasonable and to be expected that most women do not want men in their bathrooms. Duh!

Hillary won black women & latino women.

by Anonymousreply 27May 6, 2019 11:36 PM

Democrats have had a challenge winning the white vote for the past 50 years.

LBJ was the last Democrat to win the white vote in 1964. With the passage of the Civil Rights Act in 1965, white voters increasingly migrated to the Republican Party, particularly white men. This has also meant that white women have usually voted for the Republican candidate, as well.

Bill Clinton was able to win white women over Bob Dole in 1996, but it's been hard for other Democrats to do so. Even during Obama's big victory in 2008, he lost the white women vote to McCain.

Trump's approval rating hits all-time high in Gallup poll

President Trump's approval rating reached new heights in the second half of April, according to the Gallup poll, as nearly half of voters gave him positive marks.

Trump's approval rating ticked up to 46 percent, up slightly from 45 percent in the first part of April and the highest mark to date for Trump in the Gallup poll.

It comes on the heels of strong economic numbers and the largely favorable outcome of the Russia investigation.

Trump remains overwhelmingly popular among Republicans, 91 percent of whom gave the president positive marks in the latest Gallup poll. That figure falls just short of the record high of 92 percent approval among GOP respondents, reached in a Gallup survey in November.

The Gallup poll is more recent , whereas 538 is an aggregate of polls that includes some stale polling. The most recent polls show Trump Approval surging to his highest levels yet

by Anonymousreply 31May 7, 2019 12:10 AM

Trump surging to his highest levels are still the lowest approval of any president in 4+ decades. But you keep trying it!

by Anonymousreply 32May 7, 2019 12:13 AM

R31, Trump's approval is not "surging".

RCP's average for him is only 44% approval, not much better than 538. And that's with the Gallup poll included.

And 53% disapproval.

White women fuck us over every single time

by Anonymousreply 34May 7, 2019 12:18 AM

Trump's numbers among white women are the same as the GOP has had for at least a couple decades. I believe he actually got a slightly smaller percentage of white women voters than Romney did in 2012. So while he didn't drive white women away, he's not attracting them either.

And, again, these donation numbers reflect WEALTHY donors. What do you think the income bracket is of donors who can afford to throw $200+ 1.5 years before the election to the incumbent who has zero chance of being primaried? They are also the hardest of hardcore GOPers, because that money is coming long before the Dem candidate has even been chosen.

Dems have zero chance of attracting these voters, who are the absolute worst of the deplorables. Fuck em.

by Anonymousreply 35May 7, 2019 12:21 AM

What will matter is whether or not the Democrats again nominate someone who older white women loathe.

by Anonymousreply 36May 7, 2019 1:05 AM

Did anyone bother to read the article? Women gave 1.47 million to trump. They gave 3,6 million to Harris.

Trumps team is also concerned with his lack of suppport by women in states like Pennsylvania and Florida.

And no one donates to trump bc of the "trans" issue, Jesus,

by Anonymousreply 37May 7, 2019 1:26 AM

Never forget the fact that out of the white women who voted in 2016, 53% voted for Trump.

by Anonymousreply 38May 7, 2019 1:28 AM

R37 “And no one donates to trump bc of the "trans" issue, Jesus“

We know. That’s a deplorable troll desperately trying to change the subject.

by Anonymousreply 39May 7, 2019 1:31 AM

I am really fucking tired of reading that statistic at R38. I partially blame those who did not bother voting (not was unable) or voted 3rd party for the mess we are in. I know numerous POC who fall in those categories.

by Anonymousreply 40May 7, 2019 1:56 AM

The fierce hatred that college educated Liberals have for Donald Trump blinds them to the fact that most Americans are ok with him. It's Nixon all over again. The press made Nixon seem like a Devil..but he won a landslide, shocking the elite.

by Anonymousreply 41May 7, 2019 2:10 AM

Two words: Stupid. Fraus.

by Anonymousreply 42May 7, 2019 2:12 AM

[quote]Did anyone bother to read the article? Women gave 1.47 million to trump. They gave 3,6 million to Harris.

I would think OP did and chose to sing a hymn to trump.

DL is not immune to trump worship.

by Anonymousreply 43May 7, 2019 2:17 AM

R41: Not remotely comparable. Sit down and shut up.

R40: Buried in the statistic is the marriage gap, MARRIED white women vote Republican. SINGLE white women vote Democratic and in huge numbers. But people with an agenda don't want to talk about that. And if black voters in PA turned out for Rodham like they did for Obama, she would have won PA. But they stayed home....

R35: Rich bitches who's faces are pulled so tight they can't see what they're buying?

by Anonymousreply 44May 7, 2019 2:19 AM

[quote]Never forget the fact that out of the white women who voted in 2016, 53% voted for Trump.

Really?

by Anonymousreply 45May 7, 2019 2:19 AM

R41 is reaching for that 1 in a million low info voter who doesn't know Trump's favorable numbers are and consistently have been historically in the toilet.

Also, I don't know when you think the press turned on Nixon, but his reelection was not a surprise. At all. His shock measures improved the short-term economy enough to have an impact by 1972, he wound down the draft and began withdrawals from Vietnam, and he had a huge success with his China visit in his first term. One of the most bizarre things about Watergate is that Nixon didn't NEED the dirty tricks to win.

After Watergate, Nixon's approval numbers plummeted to the high 20s, which is the absolute floor for idiot conservatives.

by Anonymousreply 46May 7, 2019 2:39 AM

Hmmm, Trump's "shock tactics" have improved the economy, he has avoided the wars that America tired of, and he has engaged in largely successful negotiations with a forbidding Asian country.

Yup, no parallels to Nixon 72 at all...

by Anonymousreply 47May 7, 2019 3:40 AM

R47: "successful" LOL you shit head. The "successful" negotiation has resulted in further aggressive actions. SIT DOWN AND SHUT UP!

by Anonymousreply 48May 7, 2019 4:32 AM

The white women who support Trump are the same psychos who try to strike up romantic/sexual relationships with imprisoned serial killers.

As long as Democrats want to be the party of racial grievance and gender laws that only impact cis women I don't think abortion is enough to attract white women. In fact abortion turns off most religious women.

by Anonymousreply 57September 23, 2020 10:13 PM

53% of white women voters had voted for Trump in 2016. I don't there will be a drastic change at the voting booths in 2020 regardless of all of Trump's despicable actions in the interim.

by Anonymousreply 58September 23, 2020 10:36 PM

I know of many women who support Trump, including three black chicks

by Anonymousreply 59September 23, 2020 10:37 PM
