Who were the men that caused you sexual awakening? And how old were you?

I remember being a kid (around 6 or 7) and watching the Rocky movies with my stepdad and mom and finding Sly Stallone hot. I didn’t know it yet, but I knew I found him hot. Also, Mark-Paul Gosselaar.

When a little older ( around 11) I was in love with Ryan Philippe! And loved Freddie Prinze Jr in “She’s All That”.

I remember jerking off to Philippe’s ass in Cruel Intentions a few times. Also jacked it to Bruce Willis coming out of the shower in Pulp Fiction and to the pie scene in American Pie lmao.

What about you?

Oh, but my true sexual awakening was when I was 15 and I knew for sure I was into men. It was after late at night I saw “The Fluffer” on Showtime, by accident. Scott Gurney literally caught my eye and I couldn’t stop watching cause of him. I realized after and I was infatuated with him, finding anything I could on the internet of him at the time (it was 2002 so not like now where everything is online) and would print it out and save it. I had a pencil bag packed with images of him.

My mom found it one day and threw it out.

Gurneys image is engraved in my brain forever. I still think of that period of me fully realizing I’m gay at 15. I didn’t tell my mom until 32, which was recent. I’m sure she knew all along. My sisters did lol.

I knew I was gay from a young age. I never tended to hero worship. I liked the tv show Mannix and reruns of route 66..........so I guess I admired those actors but I didnt sexualize it really. In 10th grade I fell for a classmate hard and I suppose that was a real awakening altho it was the greatest and the worst but I suppose more than anything, it was ultimately frustrating.

R140 you mean if his dick was as big?

by Anonymousreply 141May 6, 2019 8:56 PM

Yes R141. I’ve been with two different guys who were 6’5” and 6’7”. I’m 6’2” so it was a huge novelty being the smaller guy. But, at least in my experience, height does not guarantee sizemeat. 6’7” guy was on the high end of average, whereas 6’5” guy had a freakin’ baby’s arm between his legs.

Anyway, back to hot guys who inspired the young gayling in us!

Another one - Dynasty’s John James, in a Speedo from what I’m guessing is “Battle of the Network Stars”!

by Anonymousreply 207May 7, 2019 7:05 PM

R207 I was a teen in the '90s who loved watching old Hollywood movies, especially the musicals. I fell in love with Gene Kelly... and then he died. Seriously. I discovered him in late 1995 and then he passed away a few months later. I was devastated because I had developed such a huge crush on him that I wanted to meet him, even if he was in his eighties.

by Anonymousreply 208May 7, 2019 7:12 PM

R208 I discovered him a couple of years ago. I’m 31.

I’ve heard of him my whole life but never watched his work. My local theater had a showing of “Singin in the Rain” so I went and i fell in love with him. He was very smug and had an arrogance to him, but it wasn’t off putting, it was sexy. Plus those thighs and ass... and he has a beautiful smile.

by Anonymousreply 221May 7, 2019 8:20 PM

Around the age of 24 I became infatuated with James Dean. I always knew of him but didn’t know that he died so young with only 3 films under his belt. He’s such a huge star I always figured he made more films.

Well after finding that out I read more about him, then watched YouTube videos of him, then finally came around to watching East of Eden. Jesus, I fell in love. His awkward mannerisms, his expressions almost like he was in physical pain at times, his weird way of carrying himself, his mumbling, while many would say are flaws, they are flaws that made him even more unique and he had an enormous presence. He was born to be a movie star!

It was those final moments in the movie where he’s apologizing to his vegetable father that stole my heart.

After I watched Rebel and absolutely understood the hype of him in that. Just... COOL.

Then Giant, where I felt he gave a phenomenal performance and would have won that Oscar if he were placed in the CORRECT category, Supporting.

Still to this day I’m in love. I own over 15 books about him, have photos of him, collectors items, even phone cases with him on it.

by Anonymousreply 222May 7, 2019 8:21 PM

[quote]Then Giant, where I felt he gave a phenomenal performance and would have won that Oscar if he were placed in the CORRECT category, Supporting.

Yeah, WTF was up putting him in supporting? The movie is mainly about Liz and Rock's marriage and the effects their decisions have on their children. Dean is not part of that but has a little subplot of his own and acts as a bit of an antagonist to the lead couple. Not to mention, he disappears from the screen for stretches at a time.

by Anonymousreply 223May 7, 2019 8:36 PM

R222 in high school circa 1997-1998 I had a classmate senior year whose much older brother was researching and writing a bio on James Dean. I don't know if he ever finished it. I don't even remember their names. Well, my classmate was named Fred, but i can't recall his surname.

by Anonymousreply 224May 7, 2019 8:41 PM

R223 Dean has his own movie within a movie. He did his “weird” thing that he did so well and it worked.

In today’s world he would be supporting but the rules were different back then. His name is a headliner for the film. The film Stars “Elizabeth Taylor, Rock Hudson and James Dean”. Because he is a main star whose name headlined the film, he was “lead” automatically.

by Anonymousreply 225May 7, 2019 8:43 PM

I remember at a young age, probably 6 or 7, my dad taking me in the shower with him to get me used to showering. I was a shy boy and he picked me up and held me under the shower head and showed me it was nothing to be scared of. He worked in construction and had huge strong arms and I remembered loving that feeling. And no, nothing sexual happened although we were both naked, I just realized I liked it!

Unless it was with your friends. I'm sure teen boys/young men were no different then. I was reading a book of facts/trivia and the "Safety" farting game was being played in the 1890s.

Anyways, I remember thinking that Philip Anglim (Byron) and Eric Stoltz (Percy) were so hot that I ended up jacking off in the back of the theater. As a kid who got pigeonholed as a scifi-loving nerd at an early age, probably Ben Browder in Farscape and Sebastian Spence in First Wave. Farscape was an entertaining show on its own, with the added bonus of a protagonist with a nerd's personality and a jock's body, who also had chiseled features and a penchant for tight black leather outfits. Lee Majors in the Six Million Dollar Man would wear his shirts unbuttoned down to the navel, which got me all hot and bothered at the tender age of 9. I would watch that show religiously, and my parents thought I was into it like straight boys to Star Wars, so they got me Six Million Dollar Man action figures, notebooks, lunch boxes, etc.

I recently caught an episode on Cozi Tv, and I thought, "what was I thinking??" He wasn't all that, and his acting was awful.

by Anonymousreply 270May 8, 2019 1:29 AM

Me too, R267.

I used to wait in my bedroom for our neighbor's landscapers to arrive once a week. It was two college boys that were maybe 4 or 5 years older. The one was a short, muscular guy with curly hair and lots of chest hair. Came quite a few times seeing him glistening with sweat, shirtless.

Of course most of these responses are pre-late-1990s. With the Internet, sneaking a peak here or a glimpse there became completely anachronistic.

How did they recognize this was occurring and how did they shut it down? Did they know you were a gayling?

by Anonymousreply 286May 8, 2019 4:37 PM

I am close friends with Jim Palmer. He is totally clueless to the idea that young gaylings were awakened by his ads. He got, and still gets, so many women approaching him about those ads. I have been there when they have fawned all over him, asked him to sign pictures, and giggled like school girls . But never any men. Although I have seen straight men giggle like school girls in front of him too. Don't for get he is hall of famer. That like meeting an Oscar winner to us to the gays.

by Anonymousreply 287May 8, 2019 7:14 PM

" That's like meeting an Oscar winner to the gays"- sorry

by Anonymousreply 288May 8, 2019 7:15 PM

R287, what do you think his response would be, if you told him that he has a gay following of sorts? Why not tell him?

by Anonymousreply 289May 8, 2019 7:34 PM

R283 is right. My brothers' friends, at least 4 or 5 of them, have made passes at me over the years since I was a teen. I shut it down mostly because I didn't want to get involved with one brother's friend, whom I suspected my brother was already fucking. One time as a highschooler I did go for it with another brother's friend, with mediocre results, but I got to do his dad who was better in the sack than his kid was.

The last time this happened was a couple years ago when my brother's friend came on to me strongly at a pool party. And my brother did shut it down, immediately, by telling his friend, "Pat, stop it. That's gay." Ever since, I've wondered exactly what might have gone on between my brother and his best friend.

I remember being a young gayling and not even knowing what “gay” was, but every time I sat on Santa’s lap at Christmas I knew I liked it and felt all warm inside when he touched me. Now I realize it was an authority figure outside of my family that was turning me on (if you can call it being turned on at that age). As a teen and into my 20s I totally had daddy issues and always lets guys in their 40s-60s fuck me. Now, ironically my partner of 10 years is 7 years younger than me.

by Anonymousreply 295May 8, 2019 10:53 PM

R236 1993. Me and my friend David walk into Studio One in West Hollywood. It's very early before the crowds. Maybe 5pm.

I was 22 and David was 30. I was broke, and David had money. He had an awesome place in Benedict Canyon, the whole nine.

We walk in and we spot the most beautiful specimen dancing with this shirt off. I mean, I've never seen anything like it. David said "Look, there's my new boyfriend." He goes to talk to the kid, and his name is Joshua Morrow. He's trying to be an actor- goes to Moorpark College in Thousand Oaks.

They start hanging out together. David has money, so he takes him to Vidal Sassoon to get his hair cut, buys him $250 sunglasses, takes him to see Glen Close in Sunset Blvd, ect. At some point, he said to my friend "I feel like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman."

David told me they did a good deal of fooling around, but nothing heavy because Josh was straight. We went to see Josh in a play at Moorpark College called "Staring Into the Abyss" which was one man show where he played a Vietnam vet. It was pretty terrible.

There was talk of Josh moving in with my friend. My friend planned a trip for the two of them to Palm Springs. I think the plan was for Josh to finally, uh, "Pay up" though my friend never put it that way. They were supposed to be gone several days, but I think David came back early the next day, and he called me and we went to lunch.

David seemed shaken up. I'm not sure I ever got the full story. But they were in the room, and David was pressuring him to have real sex. Josh tells him "I have to go call my mom." He excuses himself- I recall somehow knowing she told him "Don't do anything you don't want to do." Josh came back to David and said "I can't do this. I thought I could, but I can't. I thought I'd be better than this. I'm sorry." I believe David left Josh in Palm Springs, and he got back by himself. They never saw each other again. A few months later, he was cast on Young and the Restless.

But I saw him. Years later I was working on a game show he was on as a celebrity guest. I considered saying "Hi" to him, but thought better of it.

by Anonymousreply 296May 8, 2019 11:09 PM

R290 were did you grow up? Peyton Place?

by Anonymousreply 297May 8, 2019 11:10 PM

He left him in Palm Springs? And you still talked to him? What if he got mad at you and left you in Palm Springs? Or Ojai? Or pushed you out of the car in Compton, FFS?

I knew someone who did that to someone else. I stopped talking to him that week.

by Anonymousreply 298May 8, 2019 11:13 PM

Wow, R296.

by Anonymousreply 299May 8, 2019 11:18 PM

I must have been around 8 or 9, but I adored the movie "Pillow Talk," and thought that Rock Hudson was THE END. I had no idea what was happening, but he was so very handsome. I remember wanting a magazine with his picture on it that I saw in the drug store. Mother bought it for me, but Daddy flipped his lid when he saw it. He asked her pointedly why she bought me "that fag book," and if she wanted me to grow up to be a "fairy." I didn't know what any of that meant, but I was crushed.

by Anonymousreply 300May 8, 2019 11:21 PM

R298 that may have been a mutual decision, or Josh's decision. I always got the sense there was more to the story than I was told. Maybe his mom was already on her way to pick him up.

by Anonymousreply 301May 8, 2019 11:23 PM

R300 were you a child during Hudson's heyday? Or was this post-1985?

by Anonymousreply 302May 8, 2019 11:27 PM

Yes, I was a child in his heyday. I saw "Pillow Talk" in the movie theater when it came out.

by Anonymousreply 303May 8, 2019 11:33 PM

So they already suspected Rock of being gay back then?

by Anonymousreply 304May 8, 2019 11:34 PM

Or was it because your mom bought you a "woman's magazine"?

by Anonymousreply 305May 8, 2019 11:35 PM

I don't think he was suspected back then. At least not by the general public. My father was angry because it was basically a magazine for teenage girls.

by Anonymousreply 306May 8, 2019 11:37 PM

I've had a lot of sex starting age 14, R291. There were a lot of horny guys in the 90s and they weren't all beating off to internet porn back then. 2 of my brothers are publicly straight, but have had a lot of gay-ish intrigue about them since they were teenagers too.

In fact my brother's friend who came on to me at that party had gotten married not long before that, suddenly, at age 44 after a brief courtship, less than 6 months. He was bearding up no doubt. There are more details but that's enough for now. My brother didn't get married until last year, age 49.

by Anonymousreply 307May 8, 2019 11:47 PM

To continue R307, I just remembered, my other brother's good friend was crowned Miss Gay Pittsburgh some years ago. And another of his friends, complete with sleepovers, I learned later, was considered one of the best cocksuckers in the region. Guess my family is a bunch of horndogs is all.

Makes me think what kind of ego estrada must have had to NOT ONCE? tell the writers and producers and so on "uh, isn't this a bit too much!"... goes to show you what kind of person he is i guess...I would have been personally embarrassed to have me and my character's ass KISSED THAT MUCH!... off topic, but in watching charlie's angel's re-runs, kate jackson's character was ALWAYS as well in charge and the other 2 women were like HER sidekicks? yes, her character was suppose to be the serious one, however, why? Was it because at the beginning jackson was well more known and experienced than fawcett and smith and thus the show was more or less suppose to center around her? ALthough of course farrah eclipsed her quickly.. Episodes of jackson's character telling everyone what to do, sitting on the desk while the other women had to sit on the couch together nearby, her character sometimes actually sitting in the chair behind the desk, picking up the phone and so on! Surprised the other women got along with jackson so well, when their characters were eye candy and nothing more.... however, all of this in no way COMPARES to the estrada situation on chips that's for sure!...

Tony, the Italian truck driver across the alley. Hairy as fuck, angry like his bizarre wife. He would skin fish and yell at his kids in the yard with no shirt on. The most unhappiest, dysfunctional family I have ever met. I wanted him to take me into his shed and have his way with me.

Besides that, all the NYFD guys that came into the house to hang and have beers with my NYFD dad. NYFD guys adore children, maybe because they see death all the time so they are not ashamed to show affection to life.

Eldergay here, saying I saw Clint Walker--who's in a number of posts--at a Hollywood memorabilia convention about ten or twelve years ago. Girls, he was HUGE--I mean his shoulders! And he still looked like Clint Walker. He and those other Warner Brothers cowboys did it for me before I even knew what "it" was.

I grew up without a dad so, I was always falling for the dads -- Guy Williams on Lost In Space; I think Gary Conway on Land of the Giants operated on the kid on the show when his appendix burst and he wasn't even a doctor.

Those shows were in reruns when I was little. But when Jon-Erik Hexum came along on Voyagers! I feel hard. Aside from all the obvious traits -- gorgeous, masculine, deep voice -- his character acted as surrogate dad to the kid on the show.

This was, sadly, something I never outgrew.

I can't seem to separate the two and I got stuck.

It's really too bad. There's a window where I could still meet someone but there's not much space left.

A sexy neighbor. I was 12 years old and he was my friends father. He was from Mexico and very handsome. I can still hear him saying my name in his sexy accented English. I hope my infatuation wasn’t too obvious.

I remember being way too invested in the relationship of Lily and Dusty on ATWT during summer vacation circa 6th grade.

I couldn't believe how good looking Brian Bloom was.

My first crush was Bruce Willis in Moonlighting and one scene where he was boxing shirtless. He had a lightly hairy chest and not muscly, more dad bod. From then on Bruce starred in my jack off sessions as a young gayling and I must have shot vats of jizz over this smirking hunk.

Gary Conway provided story for Over the Top, a Stallone movie in which he fought to regain the love of his son, played by little Mike Webber from GH.

That movie was like daddy porn to fatherless gaylings.

Young William Hurt naked in Altered States and then Body Heat. Not just the body and handsome face, it was his casual masculine attitude.

That comedian on Mad TV who played "Pool Boy", Bryan Callen. I would loose my mind every time he appeared.
